Reporting to : CEO

Job Purpose

To study soil, plant seeds and crops to minimize the risk in the farm
and develop effective and efficient farming practices with research and advanced agriculture techniques.
Strategic:

Define the overall farm strategy for agriculture productivity development.
Operational:

Study plants and soil in order to develop better planting, cultivation and harvesting techniques, improve crop yield and solve challenges in the farm.
Research, development and promoting farming practices to prevent damages in the farm.
Ensure development of planting as per the schedule and within timelines.
To maintain records regarding farms, customers crops and samples.
Ensure utilisation of available sources in farms
Generating MIS and recommend suggestions for shortfalls related to farm, clients, customers and other related parties.
Minimum requirements

Educational qualifications: M.Sc / in Agronomy / Agriculture / related field.
Professional experience: 10-18 Years of experience
Specific knowledge: Tomato, Cucumber, Cabbage Chilly, Spring onion, Sweet corn, Okra and watermelon
Business understanding: African experience is a must
Nationality: Preferably, references from India with African Experience

Job Title: Farm Manager (Crop Production)

Location: Edo

Roles

Provide people and operational leadership to implement the overall aims of the Farm Business Plan.
Through direct reports, manage the day-to-day operation of the farm as scheduled by the Farm Business Manager to ensure effective management and deployment resources.
Contribute to monitoring overall farm performance, analyze performance data to develop insights, and implement decisions made jointly with the Farm business Manager and overall plan of the company.
Ensure the training, coaching and development of farm operation staff to enable them to competently carry out their tasks
Develop and maintain excellent relationships with key rural partners and professionals
Keep up to date with administrative, auditing and reporting responsibilities required of the position
Ensure AEO standards and policies for e.g. health and safety, product quality and property and asset management are met.
And any other assigned duties or responsibilities related to the farm’s operation.
Requirements

You must be willing to live inside the farm and communities where the farms are situated
You should have some educational background (Be able to read, write and communicate effectively).
At least 10 years farming experience in tree crops (Palm and plantain), vegetables and other type of crops
Knowledge of how to use and maintain some farm basic machineries, vehicles and equipment like tractor, sprayers, chain saws, trucks (also motorcycle) and other equipment that will be introduced over time.
Ability to learn fast and being able to develop/implement concept in line with the company’s strategy plan
Candidates should be male applicants.
