BabygirlFash: There is no document to prove that your sponsor can actually afford to 'sponsor' you. In cases like this, always better to have substantial funds in your personal bank account to cover the trip. International organisations such as IARC will not share their bank statement. Reapplying with sufficient funds may be the only way to go. Thank you. Been thinking about what could have gone wrong |

firebreather: Sorry about this dear internet fren. Better luck next time.
As per the first reason here, what documents did you submit. Was there any one that's not clear or seems shady?
I understand you might not be in the right mood for questions because of this but I'm just asking in case some of us too can learn from your experience. None were shady. All legit documents. It was actually a sponsored program. Completed application form for Schengen visa with photo. - Invitation letter from IARC (which also indicates my scholarship which covers for costs of Registration, Accommodation, Flight and Daily Diem for the duration) - Proof of flight ticket confirmation. - Proof of Accommodations. - My international passport. - Detailed itinerary. - Insurance policy covering the entire duration of stay with minimum coverage of EUR 30,000. - Letter of introduction from my employer. - Proof of employment (Letter of appointment and leave approval) - Proof of income (Personal 3 months’ payslips and 3 months bank statement of account (1m in account)) Thinking of appealing or re-applying. Please anyone knows the process of appealing? |

mrbourdillon: This was exactly me yesterday
Biometrics at TLS Abuja - 24 March Passport received sms - 2 April Passport collected - 3 April
Took just 5 working days, shortest it has ever taken for me. They told me at TLS it would take 1 month so when I got the text yesterday I thought maybe I made a silly mistake somewhere or forgot something and got quick rejection.
Got 1 year multiple entry. Frequent traveller.
24 hours wasted worrying over nothing. Please when did you apply for the visa? Also do you have an idea about the current appointment dates in Abuja? Thank you |

hunee: First time, do not do it.
3 weeks max is processing time.
Plan for your event in future instead. Noted. Thank you |

Milito: Even some frequent traveller we recently saw their visa approval post, there application spent like 3weeks. Probably there is high traffic during this time.
When I put in an application in Nov. I got biometrics appointment just 3 days after. A frequent traveller I assisted in booking an application earlier this month, there was more than 2 weeks ahead before I could get a biometrics slot. So there's most likely a surge this period.
And also weekend may affect processing period. I think he should plan that the application will stay longer. Thank you. I can't change the date of the event. Is there anything I can do to get an earlier appointment date? |

mrbourdillon: There needs to be a gap of at least 4 weeks (preferably 6 weeks) between your biometrics appointment date and your date of travel. The official guidance on their website is 15 working days (3 weeks) however I was told at my appointment this week that it would take a month. My sister (frequent traveller) waited 4 weeks for her passport to come out in January. She got 3 years.
Anyone whose passport comes out in less than 3 weeks during this period (April to September ) should consider themselves lucky. There is definitely a surge because most Dubai vacation travellers are rerouting to Europe since the UAE restrictions.
France allows you to apply 6 months before your travel date. So don’t hesitate to just book your appointment as early as possible. Thank you |

hunee: If you are a frequent traveler, no wahala. But if you are a first timer, dont do this. This is my first time. What can I do? |

Good day everyone.
Please I am to leave for France on the 21st of June. However my interview date was scheduled for 17th of June.
Please I want to know if the visa response would be ready before my departure date. If not, what can I do?
Thank you |
