Notwithstanding the result I believe people will look back on this match and appreciate it as the transition moment from the old guard of Ndidi - Iwobi - Onyeka to the new guard, I wish we can execute more matches like this with our U-23s
I don’t see any sign of good transition in that midfield that played today especially in the first half to the main team

The midfield became better in the second half when a CB was deployed in that role and Nwoko was instructed to drop dip

He recently returned from injury and is Currently training with Werder Bremen first team. He is a regular starter for them when he is fit. Definitely better than anything we have now in that position. The risk is that he has never played against an African side in Africa so the physical side of the game and not so smooth pitch could be a massive factor. Bruno Onyemachi really bumped me up with that performance. Sometimes the best way to get a player refocused is to humble him.
bro agu isn’t better than Bruno. Bruno messed up against GB but I think that’s the only bad game he’s had in super eagles colours

At the last Afcon and during the World Cup qualifiers Bruno was one of the best players we had

Players do have bad day on the pitch

Osuji who is a CB came into midfield and did better than the midfielders that played in the first half

Of course it was Fernandez, Adeoye passed to Emma made a wrong decision and the goal happened.
Fernandez then got the ball but tried dribbling his way out of defence and lost the ball

Fernandez is the major culprit

Adeoye Number 4 is the one who lost the ball that led to equaliser. A simple clearance would have been ok in hindsight.
I thought it was Fernandez?

The kid that hv impressed me a bit in midfield is the Fulham kid Nwoko

Good technical player but Chelle should advise him to drop deep a bit to help coordinate play

FIFA Found a Player Ineligible. His Team Played in the World Cup Anyway.

Officials determined that a goalkeeper from the #DRCongo did not have the correct paperwork, documents showed that Congo never finished the required documentation for Mpasi to switch his national association affiliation after playing for French youth squads.

But no action was taken, renewing questions about FIFA's governance.

FIFA officials drew up possible options, including awarding the match to #Nigeria, imposing fines, replacing Congo with Nigeria in the playoff against Jamaica, or doing nothing on the grounds that Nigeria had filed its complaint late, the documents show.

Additional correspondence about the investigation, also reviewed by The Times, included details about FIFA's actions in previous cases that matched publicly known information. A FIFA legal official not involved in the case confirmed the authenticity of the documents obtained by the Times. By @tariqpanja

Just wondering , there's a Anyaosi and isife who are doing very well in the same club ,why are they getting a look in ?
They are not in Chelle and his agent’s good book because I don’t understand how Bewene from a lowly rated club from the same league gets a call up ahead of Isife and Anyaosi who have been very good for Slavia Prague this season

Chelle is really beginning to piss me off

🚨International Friendly: Club restrictions, injuries weaken Nigeria ahead of Russia clash

Refusal by some Clubs to release their players, coupled with injuries to notable names, have seriously weakened Nigeria’s Super Eagles squad ahead of Tuesday’s international friendly match against Russia’s senior men national team.

Captain Wilfred Ndidi was knocked out by a small knock sustained during last week’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Guinea-Bissau, while midfielder Raphael Onyedika was stopped from travelling to Russia by his German club, Eintracht Frankfurt.

Defender Bright Osayi-Samuel and UAE-based midfielder Ridwan Abdulrasaq Popoola were stopped by their Clubs, while Switzerland-based defender Victory Akpe has been stopped from flying to Russia by injury.

Austria-based Moses Usor, who scored on his debut for Nigeria against Madagascar in Uyo on 25th September, not originally listed for the trip. However, when eventually he was requested by Head Coach Éric Chelle, LASK FC told him he should not fly to Russia.

Suleiman Mubarak, invited from Slavia Prague in Czechia, could not travel to Russia because his resident permit has not been secured.

The situation has weakened the Nigeria squad for the encounter against ‘The Boys’ with whom the Super Eagles battled to a 1-1 draw in another friendly in Moscow’s Luzhniki Stadium 16 months ago.

Late invitee, Ibraheem Ajasa of FC Rostov of Russia, was being expected to join the team camp in Nizhny Novgorod on Sunday evening.

18 SUPER EAGLES IN RUSSIA FOR FRIENDLY MATCH

Goalkeepers: Michael Atata (Ikorodu City); Samuel James (SJK FC, Finland); Stanley Nwabali (Chippa United, South Africa)

Defenders: Kenneth Igboke (Enugu Rangers); Isaac James (Alverca FC, Portugal); Benjamin Fredricks (Brentford FC, England); Emmanuel Fernandez (Glasgow Rangers, Scotland); Abdullahi Bewene (FC Banik Ostrava, Czechia)

Midfielders: Chibuzo Nwoke (Fulham FC, England); Stephen Michael (Vendsyssel FF, Denmark); Igor Wilfred (Kristiansund FC, Norway); Aderemi Adeoye (Ikorodu City)

Forwards: Kelechi Iheanacho (Bursaspor FC, Turkey); Moses Simon (Paris FC, France); Akor Adams (Venezia FC, Italy); Peter Edokpolor (SL Benfica, Portugal); Abubakar Umar (FC Famalicao, Portugal); Abdullahi Umar (Hradec Kralove, Czechia)

Because I'm so done with Chelle 4-4-2 diamond. Can 3-1-4-2 flourishhuh
I will rather play start onyeka who is more mobile and hv the engine to run up and down the pitch harassing and chasing down the opponent when they re with the ball than start onyedika

I wonder sometimes what make you guys think onyedika is mobile and creative enough to be moved upward the pitch. He is slow and at best a side ways passer of the ball

Currently the best player for that role beside Iwobi in midfield if we re to go with this formation is Alhassan because he is mobile, can score and creative as well

In defence I will play Fernandez who is calm and very good on the ball as the CB, Rapid and no nonsense Nwaiwu as the RCB and Bassey as the LCB

Based on current form not past exploits Fredrick shouldn’t be starting for now

any reasonable coach shouldn’t near the Ghana national team for now

Their issue isn’t coaching but lack of quality players

I regret the bashing I follow give Okoye that time. Nwabali messed up. Even his position in the 3rd goal was awkward though the defenders gave to much space.
Shebi when I dey tell una that Okoye is better than Nwabali hate and jealousy becloud una sense of analysing a good player

You good as a keeper and no top club in Africa was willing to take you in when you terminated your contract with Chippa, to top it all you come go back to your vomit after overrating yaself 🤣🤣🤣🤣

It’s time for Nwaiwu or Fernandez to replace aging Ajayi
