TheSuperNerd: Mohamed Ouahbi's Maroc keeps the ball better and transits even better than Regragui's Morocco. He has already mastered the ultradefensive and counterattacking template but has evolved his tactics since the U20 WC win last year to be more assertive and ball-possessive using shaped positional plays on the left and right sides of the field in both defensive and offensive halves. He's good and he is not even 6months on the job yet. 💯👊 |

EElopa: Football is not rocket science, and when somebody tries to convince me that a player playing in South Africa is better than a player playing in Serie A, I just laugh at how ridiculous that sounds. This might have been the case 30 years ago, but football is now a global sport and a business for that matter. A lot of European clubs have extensive scouting departments, so if you are good, you will be discovered.
A classmate of mine in high school who was very good immediately left for a Croatian team called HNK Gorica that discovered him through scouting in Abuja. When a player is playing in the South African league, he is not there because he was unlucky or has a bad agent; he is there because he has been extensively scouted and there are so many deficiencies in his game.
South African players at this level just can not score or create chances. We can play another 24 hours; I don't think South Africa would have scored in this game. I don't even think they registered a shot on target against a very mediocre Canadian team.
When you watch them, you will see why they are in South Africa, and that is because there are deficiencies to their game. Their best player on the pitch, Mbokazi, plays for Chicago Fire, and you can see he was levels above his teammates, and with his performance today, he will probably be heading to Europe. The guy that scored the only open-play goal that they had in this tournament, Maseko, plays in Europe and not the South African league.
There are levels to this game, and this is why there is a strong correlation between the league a player plays in and his quality. A player playing in South Africa can never under any circumstance be better in any position than a Serie A player. where a player plays doesn’t matter what matter is his skill set |

With that said, Italy would actually suit him. EPL too. Both leagues are for a technical powerhouse CB like Nwaiwu. Another super eagles CB I pray he gets a move in Serie A big clubs in the nearest future is Bassey. He will surely cook in Italy |

TheSuperNerd: 📸OFFICIAL: Bristol City have signed midfielder Gibson Yah from the Netherlands’ Eredivisie side Volendam for an undisclosed fee.
The 22-year-old Dutch youth international has signed a four-year deal until the summer of 2030.
Joining Ajax’s youth academy at the age of 11, Yah made his professional debut for the club’s reserve side Jong Ajax at the age of 17.
Making the move to Utrecht in the summer of 2022, his performances for their reserve side earned him a move to Volendam, where he made 26 appearances in the top flight of Dutch football last season.
Yah, City’s third signing in 48 hours following Sam Tickle and Sam Greenwood, said: “James Ellis and Michael Skubala showed me their vision. They told me the plans they have for me and especially the trust they were speaking about.
“I’m here to show them what I can do. I don’t like to speak words, so I prefer to show it on the pitch and I will do my best for the club and for the team to make sure I succeed.
“It’s going to be a new environment for me, but I think I’m in good hands here. I can’t wait to get started, get on the pitch with the boys and show what I can do.”
Manager Michael Skubala said: “We’re really pleased to bring Gibson to Bristol City. He’s an exciting young player with a lot physical and technical attributes that we look for and we are excited to work with him.”
Sporting Director James Ellis added: “Gibson is a player that helps us provide depth and will fit into the group.
“We will support his growth and development with us upon his arrival as he gets used to life in England and the demands of the game here.
“It’s been a really positive week with three new signings and the players returning for pre-season testing.
“Meeting some of the fans this week you can feel how passionate they are about this club and we hope these early signings will add to their excitement about the new season.”
