Nairaland / General / Finally, 9mobile, Former Etisalat, Sold For $500M To... Guess Who? by charlesotk(m): 6:30am On Jan 27, 2018
Teleology Holdings, a special purpose vehicle promoted by Adrian Wood, a former chief executive officer of MTN Nigeria, has been selected as the preferred bidder of 9mobile, according to New Telegraph.

Teleology, a private equity firm with an investment portfolio of $11bn, offered more than $500 million to acquire the mobile network while Smile offered about $300 million.

Analysts project that if either Globacom or Airtel had taken over the company formerly known as Etisalat, they would have overtaken MTN as the biggest operator in Nigeria by a number of subscribers.

Nairaland / General / TSTV: Read, If You're Still Hoping On Them To Deliver As Promised... by charlesotk(m): 10:37am On Jan 20, 2018
The hype that greeted the newly launched satellite Television, TSTV seem to have died down as many Nigerian still remain in oblivion as to the status or fate of the provider.

Many Nigerians who hailed the launch of a new satellite television, and mocked DSTV as well as other cable service providers are now waving signs of disappointment.

The failure of TSTV to begins sales immediately coupled with an allegation that it was illegally claiming to have license to air some content belonging to bEIN seemed to have dampened the zeal of some Nigerians.

TSTV which seems to have everything going for it from that start, now appears like a flash in the pan.

Schoolala:
Jehovah's Witnesses deny that human beings have a spirit that exists after death. Instead they teach that like animals, a person's life ceases to exist at death.

However, the Bible clearly teaches that the human spirit continues a conscious existence after death: 2 Corinthians 5:8 — "We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord." See also: Luke 16:19-31; Philippians 1:23-24; Revelation 6:9-11

It is the Bible that says so not the JW's. Pls read Ecclesiastes 3:19-21.

The Bible further answer your question in Ecclesiastes 9:5,6, 10 and Ecclesiastes 12:7.

Your reference to 1 Cor 5:8 is correct cos Jesus promised that the Little Flock will be raised to heaven to rule with him - Luke 12:32 and Revelation 5:9,10

Jehovah Witnesses are wrong, dead Wrong!

144,000 are Jews

The Great Crowd are people from all nations IN CHRIST including Jews who have become converted.

They're raptured and are in heaven before Armegedon the last war before the 1000 yr rule of Christ.

Instead I think your Bible knowledge needs realignment. You are almost there cos some of your statements are correct.

The Law also states that menstruating women should remain unclean and nobody should touch her or go near her. Do you observe that too?
Infact, some Slaymamas will be twerking and grinding with their sanitary pads in a club on Friday cheesy

But God has said
Rom 12:20,21 - But if your enemy is hungry, feed him;if he is thirsty, give him something to drink for by doing this you will heap fiery coals on his head. Do not let yourself be conquered by the evil but keep conquering the evil with the good

God will punish them in his own way. Your prayers will not fasttrack it

On point...!!!

2 Thessalonians 1:6 (KJV)
6 Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you
;

The scripture you quoted doesn't apply in this context.
No individual has the right to wish or pray for anyone's death. That's why Jesus says you should pray for your enemies (Matthew 5:44) and God is patiently waiting for the unrighteous or that annoying/wicked relative of yours to repent (2 Peter 3:9). Only God and his Son can condemn or pronounce judgment or death for any human on the D-Day...!!!

Nairaland / General / How To Survive During Recession by charlesotk(m): 3:00pm On Nov 30, 2016
It is no longer news that Nigeria is in recession. What would become news is Economic Depression (a very severe form of recession).

What really is Economic Depression? According to Economic Experts, a depression is a sustained, long-term downturn in economic activity in one or more economies. It is a more severe downturn than an economic recession, which is a slowdown in economic activity over the course of a normal business cycle.

Nobody would wish this to happen. Yet, if the current Economic Crisis or Recession is mismanaged, it will lead to Economic Depression, which in turn, would throw this country in Economic Comatose.

Since this has not yet happened or may not even happen to be optimistic, how can we survive in the ongoing recession?

Here are some tips:
1. Reduce your Expenses: You can achieve this by changing your lifestyle in the following areas: (a) Eat in (b) Walk short distances rather than drive (c) Spend more at home (d) Save more/Invest more.

2. Track your daily expenditures: You can either track by writing down your expenses against your income or use Mobile Apps designed for that purpose such as Mobills, Mint and Good Budget.

3. Start an Emergency Fund: There are many Financial institutions to help you such as Stanbic IBTC Money Market Fund amongst others.
