For me it is a waste of ones 1 yr for cryn out loud,but on dis forum i
see ppl getting excited as if d hav bn offered a job in an oil coy.i
wish nysc is scrapped.

I dnt belong to the group calling for NYSC to be scrapped.
i think NYSC shud post ppl according to needs, not post ppl accordin to requests.
i also think NYSC is spending too much time on industrial trainning rather than orientation of corp members to the Nigerian cause.
the purpose of NYSC is to breed greater unity amongst Nigerians.
i think it should be a year where the average Nigerian is being educated on other aspects of Nigeria he does not know about, to understand the culture and history of the other country side.
NYSC is a good scheme with good intentions as most Nigerian schemes are, but with very sloppy orientation.
