my main issue is just that lack of Google convenience... even after installing the google apps, it just doesn't feel like a normal google-support phone...
plus, am I the only having notification issues? most of my apps don't send notifications to my notification bar even after activating it for all the apps.. it's until u enter the app before you'll see notifications popping up

On the notification issue, I think I saw something like that on XDA . Tho I can't remember if it was solved or not.. But you can just go there and check . I'm sure you'll find something to help.

Trust me , custom ROMs makes lot of difference. But I also don't see any reason to flash them since there aren't any stable ROMs yet. And I'm also waiting to see what the hype surrounding colour os 7 will look like .

On the fonts issue, I read from here that a new update which allows changing of font will soon be rolled out.

Well , I read on XDA that realme now allows fingerprint to work after rooting. They fixed it in the 11_14 and 11_15 version updates. Just that there no stable custom ROMs available yet . Unless you want a GSI.

Tho to me it's due to the fact that realme realeased x2 and x2 pro around the same time, with the x2pro taking most of the shine .
And since x2 isn't that popular, developers weren't taking it serious at first but as of now, the story is changing and more works are bey made on developing custom ROMs for the phone.

As in I like the game mode, you can block all notification, manage your network for only the game and even block incoming calls . And battery lasts like crazy.

And on the features like find my phone and others which u didn't mention, I use a realme x2 and I don't have any issues. In fact, i use Microsoft launcher on the phone.

Find my phone works well and I didn't even need to register for anything. So I don't get what you're saying... I use the global version of their phone tho, so I can't say if that's the case on Chinese version.

Too, every other thing is working fine, just the play/pause button/setting isn't.

-Pressing that on the band just stop the music, with all the options seleted for that botton in the Notify app, and you'd need to go back to the phone to click play again.

Anyway around that?

Well the band doesn't notify you of an update. Just that it automatically updates itself once you connect it to the mi fit app. And I think I got an update recently sha. My current version is in the picture below.

As for the music setting, I still have the mi fit app installed, so I didn't bother changing that in the notify and fit app.
But if you don't have the mi fit app installed, try the settings in the picture below for your notify app.

Figured out. One just have to follow the prompts of installing and uninstalling the recommended apk and following the instructions to keep only the Notify and Fitness app

Well choosing to uninstall the mi fit app is ok, but the thing is do not update your band with the notify and fitness app, or your watch might get bricked. So if you want to update, install the mi fit app, update and then uninstall. Cheers

Well they currently use oppo's color os 6.1 and will soon be upgraded to version 7 which is rumoured to be more better and based on android 10.

And as a user of the current os, I can tell you it isn't as bad as I first thought too. Tho definitely, there's room for much more improvement which hopefully we expect in the next versions.


The thing now is even if realme start their own UI, everyone still can't be satisfied (including me). But that's where XDA forum comes in, which means you can always root your device and flash any custom ROM of your choice on the phone.

But trust me , apart from the os which tho isn't the best but still manageable , realme offers the best value for money phones right now. Which if they continue will see them challenging top brands like Xiaomi globally( tho they are already doing that in India).

It's still ok tho, the only thing you're missing is some 4g bands and Google apps (which you can easily install by yourself ). So in short it's all good. Enjoy your device .

Ok .. I found the incoming and missed call function to be very handy...
1. Open the notify app
2. Click on the message-like icon(pictures below)
3. Click on calls, and start tweaking as you like.

Note.. make sure you turn off incoming call alerts on the official mi fit app before hand, so as to allow smooth performance.

Well it's all a matter of choice bro.. Not forgetting your pocket size too . Moreover I feel like full smart watches are a bit overkill. Either ways , it all comes down to personal preference.

Like you can play a voice note sent on WhatsApp without switching on your phone... And even reply notifications. You can also set the band to notify you your battery is full or getting low. And remind you like every 2 mins or your choice of interval that you have a missed call you're yet to respond to. Lots of discoveries walahi..

Frankly I'm thinking of moving from Xiaomi to Realme because they've got some amazing phones at very reasonable prices, even way cheaper than Xiaomi phones.
I came across Realme 5 Pro Global version, 8gb/128gb with dedicated SD card storage (256gb), Snapdragon 712, @about 78k on AliExpress. YouTube reviews are excellent, but I want more opinions on this brand and their products.

But wait, you said something about swiping left 4 times to switch on flashlight. I've tried it but can't seem to get it right, it only takes me to the music screen and back to the menu.

Finally, the band itself and the charger.

The band package , screen protector (in brown paper) and the extra band strap.

So guys, the device arrived yesterday. It came with two free screen protector(in the brown paper) , and I payed for an extra band, tho that isn't the colour I thought I chose .


So far so good, the device is working fine, I downloaded the mi fit app and I got an update for the watch immediately after pairing.

Still playing around with the band tho so as to get familiar sha. If you've got any questions, or want me to test anything, pls feel free to ask.
But one thing I've noticed is damn the battery is a beast.

M yet to buy the mi band 4 and will really luv to,I've seen how gorgeous it looks with all the features but m just wondering how the mi band 5 will be considering the time of the year, it won't be long b4 the band 5 will come knocking, who knows the huge arsenal it will come banging with. I'm just sceptic with all these thoughts, getting the band 4 at this moment wont be such a gud idea anymore.

Well you're right the band 5 will be better than the band 4 and at a good price too. The rumored launch date is between March and July in India. Although it will be launched earlier than that in China.

Either ways, it all comes down to personal preference, which is to wait , or just go for the one available now .
