Have used Foxwell NT510 hand-held scanner to retract BMW E90 E-brake pads. It cannot be more easier, i think. Much more convenient compared with K+DCAN cable. No need a laptop for running INPA software.

Here is what i did.

There is much more other stuff added with NT510 scanner. But this is the most important. I was surprised there is an ignition coil re-calibration (LVS) function when change coils. Interesting! I applied NT510 scanner when i saw it as i was running the new BMW OEM Eldor coils

Hi there! I newly tested it OK to use VVDI2 Commander to make a working BMW key. So share my experience here and hope it helps!



Tool I used:

It is VVDI2 Commander Key Programmer for VW/Audi/BMW/Porsche Full Version. Because I need to deal with VW car issues I bought this VVDI2 full at uobdii.com, $2189 not including the delivery fee off course. But if you need a lower price and just focus on BMW, I know there is another option: VVDI2 with Basic, BMW and OBD Functions



Below I will talk about is the procedure VVDI2 make BMW key:

First connect VVDI2 with car and use the old key to turn ignition on. Open the software when I click Connect it automatically show me car information and “connect OK”.

Click Get Key Info and I see two options: one add key, one lost all key. I choose Add Key then NEXT.

And it says the dealer key should be taken away. So pull out the old key and I click OK.

It read out all key information. I click Save Key Info below to save the original key data.

Next I choose KeyID3 and click Prepare dealer key with programmer.

It asks me to put new key into programmer. So I put the new key into VVDI2 coil.

Then it asks if the key has keyless, I say no.

New key is made but locked. So as the tips I use the key to start car.

Yes. Car starts successfully as I expected!

Conclution: X-431 V completely substitutes X431 IV and X431 Diagun III. It passes on Launch advantages in car fault diagnostic technology, such as vast car model coverage, powerful test function, special function and accurate tast data, etc. What’s more, X431 Pro has special function such as BMW idle study, BMW injection rate adjustment etc. But it memory not so big as x431 pad, and it can’t do videoscope, not so powerful as X431 pad.

CONSULT III supports reprogramming on most 2003 through 2009 model year vehicles.

Problem:
A Xtool X100 Pad Tablet key programmer user tried to change the dash mileage, but when he entered the odometer correction function menu, the X100 PAD pops up a prompt requiring “Please input the security code“. He had no idea what the security code is and how to get it.


Solution by UOBD2 technician:
Xtool X-100 PAD requires to enter security code ONLY when do odometer correction function for GM car models. That means other car brands and functions do not require the code to enter.
When you enter the odometer correction function menu and select the vehicle model, the key programmer will display a code. Please send the code to us (together with the correct GM model and year, i.e Chevrolet Cruze 2011 + code). Our factory will calculate the security code based on information your provided and send the code to you.
