The Professor's knowledge of history is defective. He cannot be a proff. of history but Arabic Studies. A cursory look at the territories that comprised the Sokoto Caliphate from history books, there is no mention any where that Benue, and most importantly the Tiv nation came within the territories belonging to the sultanate. The caliphate boundaries covered Nassarawa, Plateau and parts of Kogi and Kwara states. Moreover, even if Benue were to be part of the sokoto caliphate as claimed by the so called prof. the sultanate has long collapsed when the British defeated the fulani army. The effect is that there is nothing like sokoto caliphate now. The Professor is living in the past even though he claimed to have been educated to the level of a University Don. Its a pity!
