I want to renew my international passport. Is my birth certificate mandatory for renewal? I have my NIN slip with me but unfortunately my Birth Certificate is not.

Is there a way to go around this in Lagos?

I'm interested in having a quality road trip and exploring other African countries. I plan to go as far as road can take me (Abidjan as their land border is now open), spend a couple of days before returning back to Nigeria.

I'm confused about a couple of things and would appreciate clarification:

1. Is this adviceable, security wise?
2. I've read a couple of threads saying to bribe the policemen (GH, ABJ) as they do not like Nigerians. Is there a way to minimize or not pay this bribe fee at all (someone even said 15k cfca)
3. Is work ID required or word of mouth saying I'm only travelling sufficient?
4. What are the activities to try out in Ghana and in Abidjan.
5. Would you recommend a different location in Ivory Coast other than Abidjan.
6. I would like to try out their markets too for clothes (Cotonou, Togo, Ghana, Abidjan) - which would you recommend I visit.
