Bru...seriously, u need to dig deeper for a better argument than the above. In all you've had to say in reply to the jw's being the only ones today doing what jesus said would be done before the end, nothing touches on disproving that fact about jw's. Instead, like all the rest who critisize the witnesses' clear&simple teachings for the mere fact that it completely correspond with the Bible&Christs teachings, u ponder over something else u may have, or think u have stronger grounds to stand on. Even that however, is so easily expained. Yes, the early Bible students as JW's were called then, had a few dates wrong about what they 1st thought would be the end, but after proper&more in depth examination of the Bible they came to the conclusion that "no one not even Jesus knows the exact date&time of the end, only the Father(All mighty)." What's more, these Bible students readily admitted to having the wrong understanding of Scripture&immediately did something about it by examining the true meaning of those exact misunderstood verses. Fact is, they were right back then about one thing, that the year 1914 had a very important meaning to it, a meaning most people if not all whose not JW's today still don't know of. Moreover, JW's also learned that the days of the prophets all long gone, that the complete Bible replaced them as means for our guidence today, therefore they never made the same mistake again of pointing to a specific year when the end will come since only the Father knows that day. What JW's however do proclaim is what Christ said would be the signs of the end. Think of Noah, who built the ark about 40years. With that in mind, he preached to the people of his time before he even started building in the very 1st year of those 40years. What did those people say? They mocked him(&sounded just like u do now by saying the JW's told u the end is near some 36 years ago) up until the very last moment before Jehovah opened the gates of Heaven&flooded the entire inhabited earth. Personally, will serve Jehovah&be one of His witnesses all my days till expire, why? Because I got to know who He really is&as a result got to love Him with all my heart&soul. Hence, no matter how long it'll take for the end to come, I'm 100%sure it will indeed come and it don't matter whether I'm dead or alive coz the reward is worth waiting for...even more so when u have late loved ones whom you really would like to see again. That&more is what's promised in Gods Word the Bible and was made possible by our Leader&saviour Christ Jesus.

Good grief...what immature asoning that is. Did u ever see anyone anywhere describe or make an example of an angel/spirit being as a dark figure? Even movies portray angels or heaven residing beings as white/spirit-like persons. U want black angels, try knocking at satans door. U sound like S.A's who make every little thing out to be a racist matter. Be wise, think smart, use your gift of being able to use your "power of reason." To the original poster of this title above, I'm not a witness as yet, but I'm currently studying the Bible with them&is positively certain that want to dedicate my life to Jehovah God very soon by means of baptism. My question to u is, why u asking? To the other few funny characters mocking the name of these humble followers of Christ, I'd love to know why exactly u feel so bitter towards JW's...fill me in.

Hi, sorry to hear about your lenghty psychological draining experience. However, I'm honoured to say that I'm studying the Bible currently with JW's&have absolute certainty that I want to become a baptized servant of Jehovah very soon. I know quite a great deal about JW's and their ministry or beliefs, so feel free to ask me anything u have cropped up in your heart for so long. Why u never thought of approaching a witness in your area with regards to your questions is confusing since their members one can find all over the globe, the only religious people doing exactly what Christ said must occur before the end will come...nonetheless, any question&ill try my best to give u the best and only explanation through the Bible of cause. Incredible...shockingly amuzing how u, amongst millions of others, can read Jesus' very own words which I've posted in Proverbs 8:22-30, where he uses words like "possessed(in older translations recorded as produced), twice he said he was "brought forth" by the One that made the watery deep etc. All these evident proof that Jesus isn't the All mighty God, besides the fact that Jesus himself never taught this lie nor his apostles, u&people like u are adamant to this hollow minded teaching of man, what's even worse is that u view it as doctrine. Even my 4year old daughter can know that Jesus is not God All mighty when reading the scripture after Jesus' baptism when a voice came from the heavens saying..."This is my Son, the beloved, in whom I have found delight." Please people, stop following the clownish teachings of so-called christendom and see the true message the Bible gives us its not that complicated to grasp.

Hi guys. Glad I came across this very important discussion&hope ya'll don't mind my input. Let me start with what Jesus meant when answering Philips question about the father. Its quite simple, Jesus said he&the Father is one in the sense that he perfectly reflects or resembles the Father. But there's more to that statement of Jesus.

Let us take a look at the context. In verse 25 of John 30, Jesus stated that he did works in the "name" of his Father. From verses 27 to 29, he talked about symbolic sheep whom his Father had "given" him. Both statements by Jesus would have made little sense to his listeners if he and his Father were one and the same person. Instead, Jesus said, in effect, ‘My Father and I are so close-knit that no one can take away the sheep from me, just as no one can take them away from my Father.’ It is much like a son saying to his father’s enemy, ‘If you attack my father, you attack me.’ No one would conclude that this son and his father were the same person. But all could perceive the strong bond of unity between them.

Jesus and his Father, Jehovah God, are also “one” in the sense that they are in complete agreement as to intentions, standards, and values. In contrast with Satan the Devil and the first human couple, Adam and Eve, Jesus never wanted to become independent of God. “The Son cannot do a single thing of his own initiative, but only what he beholds the Father doing,” Jesus explained. “For whatever things that One does, these things the Son also does in like manner.”—John 5:19; 14:10; 17:8.

This strong bond of unity, however, does not make God and his Son, Jesus, indistinguishable from each other. They are two individuals. Each one has his own distinct personality. Jesus has his own feelings, thoughts, experiences, and free will. Nevertheless, he chose to submit his will to that of his Father. According to Luke 22:42, Jesus said: “Let, not my will, but YOURS take place.” These words would have been meaningless if his will could not differ from his Father’s. If Jesus and his Father were really one person, why did Jesus pray TO God and humbly admit to NOT knowing things that only his Father knew?—Matthew 24:36.

Members of many religions worship gods that are depicted as quarreling and fighting with their own family members. In Greek mythology, for example, Cronus overthrew his father, Uranus, and devoured his own children. How different this is from the oneness based on true love between Jehovah God and his Son, Jesus! And how this unity endears them to us! In fact, we have the incomparable privilege of being in union with these two highest Persons in all the universe. Regarding his followers, Jesus prayed: “I make request . . . that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in union with me and I am in union with you, that they also may be in union with us.”—John 17:20, 21.

Thus, when Jesus said, “I and the Father are one,” he was speaking, not of a mysterious Trinity, but of a wonderful unity—the closest bond possible between two persons. To believe in the trinity god is nothing different then worshiping what one do not know. When following Jesus' clear teachings we serve&worship his Father whom even he submits to, Jehovah God, we accept Jesus as our means of salvation&acknowledge him as Gods Only-Begotten Son, thus we can positively and boldly say we know exactly who we serve as our Only True God Jehovah, the Creator of our grand universe!
