Etsako land(also called Afemai) is the third largest ethnic group in Edo state with a population of about 600,000 which accounts for roughly 15% of Edo's population-behind Bini over 52% and Esan about 18%. It's located in the Northern senatorial district of the state and speaks a dialect somehow related to other Edo dialects.
Auchi town is the traditional capital of the Etsako people and the entire Edo north,and it's the second largest City in Edo state after Benin which is by far the largest. Etsako land is home to a federal polytechnic at Auchi, The Nigeria Army school of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering also at Auchi and the recently established Edo University at Iyamho and a host of others..... The people are warm and embracing with different colourful festivals and their main occupation is farming and trading.
Auchi is the economic and commercial nerve center,while other important towns include: Agenebode,Fugar,Okpella ....etc. Etsako's population is roughly divided between Muslims and Christians-about 53% Muslim and 46% Christian and a pocket of Traditional religious worshippers. Important personalities of Etsako origin includes: Adams Oshiomhole(immediate past governor of Edo State),Dele Giwa(Popular assassinated journalist),Raymond Dokpesi(owner of AIT),John Momoh(owner of Channels TV),Tony Momoh(former national chairman of the defunct CPC),Senator Albert Legogie(former deputy senate president),Mike Akhigbe(Former Vice President), Mike Oghiadomhe(former deputy governor and chief of staff to president GEJ),present deputy governor of Edo State(Philip Shuaibu) and a host of others..... .... I have read a couple of books,and the most intriguing of them all is 'The 33 strategies of War' by Robert Greene. I feel it's a must read for every aspiring youth..... So,opinions wanted. What's the most intriguing book you've ever read?

..... I wonder how it has gone this bad,those bunch of wastes(politicians and ruling class) have made our collective future look bleak and that of our future generations at critical risk. My question is: What's our problem us Nigerian youths? isn't it high time this rubbish stopped? If 11 million of us could unite and vote Efe in BBN,then why can't we tell these Demons that enough is enough. I really fear for all of us,To God i fear!

..... I wonder what's wrong with some Nigerians. .... what is rocket science about d new adjustment? Just because some greedy and heartless elites wanna take every single opportunity to exploit our gullible youths,they still fall for it. All I see and smell is hypocrisy and unnecessary hatred ......

...... With the Biafra agitation getting heated and closer to reality by the day,what's the fate of the South south in the equation? ..... Should there be a Rondel(region of niger delta)republic or should Edo and part of Delta just form republic of Benin(as in former midwest minus anioma) and d rest of South south join biafra as earlier proposed? Or better still,should we go for the easier option of just restructuring the country? ........ Cos personally I feel it's high time the nation is balkanised.
