EFCC Arrests 23 Suspected 'Yahoo Boys', Indict Them After Forensic Analysis, Recovers 7 Exotic Cars


Operatives of the Ibadan Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested twenty three (23) suspected internet fraudsters, better known as "Yahoo Boys" in Ibadan, Oyo State

The suspects were arrested on Thursday May 12, 2022 at Apata, Jericho and Ire Akari Estate areas of Ibadan following credible intelligence on their alleged computer fraud-related activities.

This was disclosed in a statement made available to journalists on Friday by the Head of Media and Publicity of the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren.

BREAKING: Jonathan Officially Joins APC In Bayelsa, Accepts To Run For Presidency 


Barely 48 hours after disowning a nomination form purchased for him by a northern group, Nigeria’s former President, Goodluck Jonathan has decided to run for president in 2023.


Mr Jonathan had on May 9 rejected presidential expression of interest and nomination forms of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) bought for him by a Fulani group. He later visited APC chairman Abdullahi Adamu, a shuttle his aides said was to distance himself from the purchase.


Nigeria’s newswire, the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, which broke the news, said a credible source with Jonathan’s camp, disclosed that the ex president has finally made up his mind to vie for the top post he lost to the incumbent in 2015.


While pleading anonymity, the source told NAN that the former president has also joined the APC formally, having registered at his Otuoke Ward in Bayelsa.


Meanwhile, Mr Jonathan is expected to submit the duly filled forms bought on his behalf on Thursday, the source offered further.


According to the source, the former president has secured the support of the required number of APC delegates from across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.


“Several bigwigs of the party have also been calling Jonathan to pledge their loyalty and support to the former president,’’ the source revealed.


The source told NAN political correspondent late on Wednesday that some influential African leaders had called Mr Jonathan earlier on Monday to advise him “to contest the election in the interest of Nigeria.

VIDEO: Bloodbath As Gunmen Kidnap Veritas Varsity Professor, Others In Benue

An unnamed Professor with Veritas University in Abuja, was on Sunday night kidnapped by some unknown gunmen in Otukpo, Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State.

The incident happened on the road leading to Ipoint Hotel, behind Double K resort guest house, Otukpo.

The lecturer was not the only one abducted, as his driver and others in the vehicle with him were also kidnapped.

In the attack that was said to have lasted close to thirty minutes, one unnamed professor from the Benue State University Makurdi, however,  narrowly escaped the onslaught.

According to a video posted by July Media TV, two vehicles, a black and white Hilux littered with bloodstains were abandoned at the scene without their occupants, an indication some of the abductees were also shot by the kidnappers.

Otukpo, known as one of the most peaceful local government areas in Benue, has of recent become a hotbed for criminality, such as cultism, armed robbery and kidnapping.

The whereabout of the victims of the attack is unknown at the time of filing this report. No report or demand of any ransom, too.

Security personnel are however at the location, trying put the situation under control and no words from either the police or the local government.

VIDEO: Gunmen Attack PDP Presidential Aspirant’s Community In Anambra


Agulu community in Anaocha local government area, Anambra state, was on Saturday attacked by unknown gunmen.

The attack was said to have forced soldiers at a checkpoint to flee.

Agulu is a country-home of the presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former governor of Anambra State, Mr Peter Obi.

A trending video claimed that the hoodlums drove in with Hilux and Toyota jeeps into the military check-point mounted along Agulu-Nanka road by Agulu town hall, and shot at the soldiers forcing some of them to run away.

Although, voices in the trending video claimed that some of the soldiers were actually killed at the spot, no casaulty was shown but gunshots were heard.

According to Blueprint newspaper, Spokesman for the State Police Command, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, did not respond to call to confirm the report as at press time.

The attack in Agulu reared up less than 24 hours after hoodlums struck in Osumenyi, another community in Anambra state and killed five people in a drinking joint on Friday night.

Another group of gunmen also unleashed attack during Easter in Anambra state.

Recall that Sound Sultan passed away after a battle with cancer of the throat in the United States in July 2021.

His demise shook the entire music industry in Nigeria.

EFCC Arrests 2 Females Among 34 Suspected 'Yahoo Boys', Recovers 7 Expensive Cars, 16 Laptops, 47 Phones

The Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 arrested thirty suspected internet fraudsters in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Spokesman of the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren.

The suspects, comprising of twenty-eight males and two females were arrested at different locations in Ado-Ekiti based on credible intelligence obtained by the Command.

They are Godspower Falodun, Omoniyi Pelumi, Victor Damilola, Akerele Olugbenga, Oluwatosin Alade, Abayomi Aderinwa, Ologunsoro Ayodeji, Olakunle Bidemi, Emmanuel Olukayode, Ojo Tobi, Ayeni Kayode, Ezekiel Ayomide, Tunde Lukman, Onikoyi Tobi, Busayo Obadu, Abiodun Taofeek, Ajayi Opeyemi and Ebenezer Ayodeji.

Others are Akinola Paul, Jacob Wisdom, Akinrinmola Olumide, Lawrence Abimbola, Tope Abejide, Busuyi Ajewole, Seyi Ajewole, Sunday Pelumi, Sunday Pelumi, Fapohunda Paul and Aguh Henry, while Omowumi Victoria and Peace Beloved were the only females amongst the suspects.

Items including six exotic cars worth millions of naira, forty-seven different brands of phones and sixteen laptops were recovered from the suspects at the point of arrest.

In a related development, operatives of the Command also arrested four persons suspected to have been involved in similar offences over the weekend in Ilorin.

The Suspects: Oyewole Moruf Damilare, Abdul-salam Quzeem, Mohammed Bello and Olusanya Idowu Lukman were arrested in Agric Estate, Sango area of Ilorin following a tip-off on their alleged unwholesome activities.

Some of the items recovered from the suspects at the point of arrest included expensive phones, different brands of laptops and a car.

The suspects will be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of the ongoing investigations.

A yet-to-be-identified Nigerian police officer, has been caught on camera assaulting a civilian, Comrade Ella John.

In a post accompanied by a photo and a video, Comrade Ella said the incident happened around Goshen City on the Keffi-Abuja expressway.

According to him, while on his way from Benue to Abuja, the police officer, driving a hilux tried to overtake him him in a dangerous manner that would have caused him and the other passengers of the vehicle, a fatal accident.

He said he eventually gave way for the officer to overtake him after he got a little space on the highway.

He added that after he gave way and eventually caught up with the officer and sought an explanation for his action, the officer pulled his AK 47 rifle at him, cocked the gun and threatened to pull the trigger and started to harrras him.

He said, "My ordeal with an unprofessional police officer on my way back to Abuja from benue state.

"The hilux try to over take me blowing sirens it was tight for me to give him way and immediately there was space I break for him to overtake the next thing I know is the driver tried to push me off the road hitting my bumper and tried to escape, it would have been a fatal accident but God came through, I step on it and catch up with him around Goshen city keffi Abuja express way.

"I walk to him for an explanation why he drove that way and trying to cause us accident the man pull out the gun crack it and point it at me, and begin to harass me. He broke my phone and when he realized I captured his face he took off."

Recall that the Nigeria Police Force had in October 2020, disbanded some special units of the force, for harrashment and police brutality against citizens.

Prominent among such units to be disbanded was the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad, FSARS.

VIDEO: Nigeria Deploys Helicopter To Monitor, Escort Train Movements Because Of Terrorists


The Nigerian government seem to have deployed helicopters to escort and monitor train movements around the country particularly on the Abuja-Kaduna expressway, as a security measure against attacks by criminals.

In a 17-seconds video posted on the BUHARISTS REPORTERS on facebook on Friday night, a helicopter could be seen flying over a train route as the train was in motion.

In a post accompanying the video, it was written, "Abuja Kaduna Railway.

"The Train, the Tracks and the Passengers now Safe and Secured

"Thank Rt Hon Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi Federal Minister of Transportation."

Recall that the Abuja-Kaduna highway, has for long become a “death trap” for motorists and even train passengers.

Only few weeks ago, terrorists attacked a train in Jere, Kaduna State after it took off from Abuja and killed scores, injured many and kidnapped dozens out of the over 900 passengers on board.

Prominent among those kidnapped in the train was the acting Managing Director (MD) of Bank of Agriculture, Alwan Hassan. He was released few days ago after reportedly paying 100 million naira.

Operatives of the Enugu zonal command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Wednesday April 13, 2022 arrested 16 internet fraud suspects in Asaba, Delta State.

The suspects are Esievoadje Isaac, Utogbo joseph, James Chibueze, Ogboru Celdric Mudaga, Edet Ifeanyi Drie, Ayomor Ikechukwu Godfrey, Gray Osekwuni and Enegide Ifeanyi Kizito.

Others are Godwin Okiemute, Okoh Joseph, John Odedekuma, Precious Agbavito, Efe Odedekuma, Brian Adigwu, Okoro Daniel and Josephine Christian.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Thursday by the Spokesman of the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren.

Uwujaren said the suspects were arrested following intelligence on their internet related fraud activities which included defrauding unsuspecting members of the public, mostly foreign nationals, through the internet.

He said items recovered from them include several mobile phones, laptops and cars : Mercedes Benz GLK 350 with registration number KSF 208 GT, one Lexus ES350 with registration number WWR 564 TD, one Toyota Camry with registration number ABC 492 FW , one Toyota Venza with registration number KWL 878 BE, one Mercedes Benz GLK 350 with registration number ABJ 515 D, a Mercedes Benz GLK 350 with registration number YAB 286 BT, one Mercedes Benz ML 350  with registration number KUJ 387 BR and One Toyota Camry with registration number AKD 123 GD.

In a related development, the EFCC Spokesman in a separate statement said, a total of seven suspected "Yahoo Boys" were on Thursday, arrested by the Lagos zonal command of the anti-graft agency.

He gave the names of the suspects as: Sulaiman Ademola, Okechukwu Ndubuisi Prince, Sunday Carson Kingsley, Ikpeh Godwin Igojuju, Shile Temiloluwa Abiodun, Agboh Daniel and Nice Tom Eweh

According to him, they were arrested at No. 1 Gideon Obhakhan Close, Therra Annex, Sangotedo, Lagos, following credible intelligence received by the Commission on the illegal activities of some individuals allegedly involved in computer fraud.

He said upon their arrest, two exotic vehicles, laptop computers and mobile devices were recovered from them.

He further disclosed that all suspects will be charged to court once investigations are  concluded.

Zamfara Gov Matawalle Distributes 260 Assorted Cars To Traditional Rulers, Commissions HQ Of Council Of Ulama


Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle of Zamfara State has distributed 260 assorted cars to all the traditional rulers in the state just as he commissioned ultra-modern headquaters of the state Council of Ulama in the state.

The distribution and commissioning was performed by the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa'ad Abubakar 111 at the Government House in Gusau.

The Sultan expressed his gratitude to Governor Matawalle for his concern on the welfare of the two important institutions which still remain the thread that holds the  society together.

The Sultan called on the beneficiaries of the gesture to continue in their support to the administration of Matawalle by rendering their best in ending the challenges facing the people.

Governor Matawalle said the gesture was done in recognition of the status of the traditional institutions as the custodians of the religion and culture and vehicle of cohesion and peace in societies.

"It is in view of the high esteem with which my administration regards our traditional leaders and institutions that we decided to procure brand new cars, Cadillac 2019 Model, for 17 Emirs, 13 Senior District Heads and 230 District Heads across the State", the governor revealed.

The governor assured that his administration will continue to work with traditional and religious leaders to ensure lasting peace and harmony in the state.

"I would like to assure you that my administration will continue to work in line with the mission of uplifting the dignity and sanctity of our traditional institutions through all possible means. We are currently rehabilitating and reconstructing some of the palaces of our emirs across the State. Some of these projects would soon be completed" he said.

The total cost of the vehicles was not disclosed, FREEDOM SUNRISE NEWS, however believe that it may have cost quite a fortune, for a state battling with insecurity issues.

Zamfara, a state in the North West of the country, is bedeviled with activities of bandits and terrorists elements wrecking havoc on defenceless citizens.

In January 2022, the governor had said he does not see banditry ending soon in his state due to the activities of the traitors.

He however vowed to fish out the collaborators because “we know the people that are pushing them to do so.”

Recall that in January 2022 also, about 200 people were killed after attacks by an army of bandits on rural communities in the state.

The bandits were said to have stormed five villages in Anka and Bukkuyum local government areas left behind a trail of blood.

The bandits burnt down the five villages, killed many residents and mutilated their bodies.

[VIDEO] EFCC: 17 'Yahoo Boys' Bag Jail Terms In Calabar, Port Harcourt, Kaduna, Benin, Forfeit Gadgets of Fraud To FG



A total of 17 internet fraudsters, otherwise known as "Yahoo Boys" have bagged various jail terms after they were convicted by different courts in Calabar, Port Harcourt, Kaduna and Benin city.

Their conviction was secured by the various zonal commands of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

This was disclosed in separate statements issued on Tuesday, 5 April, by the Spokesman for the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren.

According to the statement, in Calabar, Justice Rosemary Dugbo Oghoghorie of the Federal High Court sitting in Calabar, Cross River State, sentenced ten (10) of the "Yahoo Boys" to one year imprisonment each. 

The convicts were arraigned by the Uyo Zonal Command of the EFCC on one-count separate charge bordering on impersonation and obtaining by false pretence. 

In Kaduna State, Justice Darius Khobo of the Kaduna State High Court, sitting in  Kaduna convicted and sentenced  George Ahmadu (alias Don Johnson) and Joshua. B.  Amos (alias Eric Church) to one year imprisonment each for impersonation.  

They were jailed on Monday, April 4, 2022,  based on their  "guilty" pleas to one- count amended charge bordering on impersonation,  upon their arraignment by the Kaduna Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,  EFCC.  

The statement said investigations showed that Ahmadu and Amos assumed the identities of United States of American actor and musician: Don Johnson and Eric Church to defraud local and international victims.   

In Port Harcourt, Justices S. I. Mark and P. M. Ayuba of the Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, convicted and sentenced two internet fraudsters:  Okoro Uchechukwu and Emeka Paul Ezenwadi to two years imprisonment each for internet- related fraud. 

They were jailed on Monday, April 4, 2022 after pleading "guilty" to one-count separate charge bordering on impersonation, upon being arraigned by the Port Harcourt's Zonal Command of the EFCC.

Furthermore, the statement said, in Benin, three Internet fraudsters, Daniel Ogbemudia Isaiah, Aisosa Enobahkre and Omokaro Augustine Israel were on Tuesday April 5, 2022, convicted and sentenced to prison by Justice Efe Ikponmwonba of Edo State High Court sitting in Benin City.

The trio was arraigned by the Benin Zonal Command of the EFCC on one count charge of personation and obtaining by false pretence. For instance, one of the defendants Isaiah presented himself as Henrick Kronberg, a crypto currency investment expert on Instagram in order to defraud unsuspecting victims.

The convicts were ordered to forfeit  all gadgets used in committing the crimes to the Federal Government of Nigeria and write an undertaking to be of good behaviour.

VIDEO: Buhari, Terrorists Share Same World View, Reason He's Protecting Them - Reno Omokri


Former Presidential Aide, Reno Omokri has accused President Muhammadu Buhari of sharing the same world view with the  terrorists causing violence in country.

Omokri was reacting to the recent daring terrorists bombing of a train in Kaduna, with over 700 persons on board, which led to the killing of scores, injuring and abducting several others.

He was particularly reacting to the inaction of the president to deploy military might on the terrorists hideouts.

Taking to his verified facebook page on Monday, Omokri said Buhari would have sent in heavy military presence if the train bombing had happened in the South Eastern part of Nigeria.

According to him, troops were deployed in large numbers last year in Orlu, Imo State when gunmen were causing violence on citizens of the state.

He said, "Do you think that if there was a train bombing in Southeast Nigeria, Buhari would not have overwhelmed the region with troops? Have you forgotten how troops overwhelmed Orlu in Imo state, last year with a helicopter gunships? This is an actual photo of one of the gunships over Orlu. What did Orlu people do that Buhari sent troops and a helicopter gunships there? Did they bomb a train, killing and abducting many? Did they kill farmers? Did they abduct children from school? Did they block an expressway and kidnapped Nigerians for ransom? Terrorists have done all of these. Why hasn’t Buhari sent troops and these same helicopter gunships to Kaduna? Because he is protecting terrorists! Why is he protecting them? Because they share the same tribe, religion, and world view as he does!"

FULL VIDEO: How Gunmen burnt down LGA headquarters in Imo


Gunmen have set ablaze the headquarters of Orsu LGA in Imo state, residents have told TheCable.

The gunmen were said to have invaded the area around 2:30 am on Sunday.

TheCable understands that several buildings, including the LGA chairman’s office, administrative block and parked vehicles, were burnt by the gunmen.

Osondu Chinedu, a resident of the area, said: “Orsu is now a no-go-area for the youths, especially young men because of the activities of unknown gunmen who are terrorizing the entire local government area.”

Uchenna Osuigwe, the interim chairman of the LGA, who also confirmed the incident said a lot of things were damaged in the fire.

“You know there is no way a fire will not damage something but the extent of the damage is being assessed. So in due time, after a fact-finding exercise, we will come up with a comprehensive report on this,” he said.

When contacted, Michael Abattam, police spokesperson in the state, said he is yet to get information on the incident.

The attack comes two days after gunmen set ablaze the home of Ford Ozumba, commissioner for labour, employment and productivity in Imo state.

The attack occurred in the commissioner’s hometown in Umuhu-Okabia community — also in Orsu LGA.
