Man kills son over cashew nuts in Enugu State

An argument between a father and his biological son over the ownership of cashew nuts at Obinetiti Isikwe Achi in Oji River Local Government Area of Enugu State, on Wednesday, has reportedly led to the death of the young man.

A source revealed to the media that the 60-old-man, identified as Hyacinth Ilo, in the course of arguing with his son, Izuchukwu Ilo, over who owns cashew nuts, allegedly hit him with a stick behind his head, and that the son slumped and died instantly.

AAU student, four others killed as herdsmen attack Edo community

Not fewer than five persons, including a first year student of the Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma, Edo State, Collins Ojierakhi, have been allegedly killed by herdsmen in Ugboha, Esan South East Local and Odiguete Ovia North East Local Government Areas of Edo state.

Not fewer than twelve persons are currently hospitalized at the Benin Central Hospitaland other private hospitals following the attack by the herdsmen in the town.

32 killed in Kogi by Suspected Herdsmen
The Chair Person representing Kogi East in the Senate, Known as Atai Aidoko, has reported an killings by suspected ‘Fulani herdsmen’ which, he said, claimed 32 lives in two local governments in Kogi State to the Senate.

Mr. Aidoko stressed that 20 people were killed in Dekina Local Government Area, 12 in Omala while another five were maimed in the two areas.
Mr. Aidoko, who has remained in the Senate despite being sacked by the court, said the killings were carried out by Fulani herdsmen on Wednesday.

“This is a violent attack on the people of Oganenugo in Dekina Local Government and Omala Local Government of Kogi state by Fulani herdsmen.
