Bang Average singer......My 3 yr old cousin sings better

But as a Performer you have to give credit to whom it is due.........dude has got the ish

Simply oozed stage presence and confidence....... Anyone present at the Hackney Weekend Gig can testify to that.

dayokanu: So in like 28yrs Italy has not lost in regulation time to a traditional power house.

Germany has not beaten Italy in a tournament for the longest

History favours Italy, Form favours Germany
Yh it's been that long.

Yep they haven't.....And long may that continue

Form certainly favours Germany. Plus they also have the better team.

It should be an interesting match nonetheless. Both teams are attack minded and both like to dominate possession. Battle of wills really.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Euro 2012 All-Action Thread by chic2pimp(m): 5:07pm On Jun 26, 2012
mba emeka: Italy barely made it past Croatia even though they scored first, they were molested by Spain in the second half and for Torres misses spain would have easily won the game say 4-2, they forcefully beat the worst team in the competition and then they needed a penalty shoot out to beat England and all of a sudden theyre being tipped to win the tourney. If this isnt a joke i cringe to know what else could be?
What a load of tosh this is

First of all who is tipping Italy to win?.......As far as I know the Azzuri are third favourite if not fourth Favourite to win the tourney. So I ask again who is saying all this things? All i've heard all week long from pundits and writers is how ordinary and average this Italian side is.

Barely made past Croatia? Did you watch th match at all. They tie shoulda ended in the first half had the boyz been more clinical in front of goal. Fair dues to Croatians though they came back strongly in the second half(partly due to the Prandelli's tactic of trying to defend the lead). Mind you there is nothing wrong drawing with the unlucky Croatian side who not only would have topped any of the other two groups but also gave spain probably the sternest test they'll face in this competition.

Molested by spain in the 2nd half yet still created gilt edged opportunities. Are u half asleep or sedated when u watch Italian matches?....Or is it just pure Jealousy?

mba emeka: Please realise that albeit the Italians bossed the game against the ultra defensive, ultra clueless english they didnt win the game in open play. That can be translated to mean that they have had 3 draws and a win-against the worst side!!! Theyre simply another average team riding their luck. yes pirlo has been stellar starting from the Biaconeri season till the tournament but one would need more than a performing midfielder to win a tourney. his strikers have majorly underperformed, the "impregnable" defence that stereotypically defines them doesnt look as so. . .i repeat the Italians are riding their luck. . .period!
I'd happily take another two draws and penalty shootout wins.
"Simply Average side"?.....I dread to think of your description of the other 12 teams that have already been eliminated.
Mind you I'd rather be a Lucky side than an extremely good one. Long make that Luck continue.

And I repeat Long may that Luck Continue......

dayokanu: Trivia

When was the last time a BIG team eliminated Italy from a tournament in regulation time. Been cracking my head for this
Euro 88......The soviet union was a powerhouse back then.

If you are refering to the traditional BIG TEAMS then that would have to be France in 1986

coogar: or even paul scholes!
I think Scholes could have been persuaded out of retirement.
Carrick is a difference case. Guarantee him a starting spot.

AjanleKoko: Carrick wasn't exactly dropped. He ruled himself out.
I seriously doubt he'd have made much difference to this side. They might have done better if they had managed to persuade Arteta to take up English nationality grin
Yh he ruled himself out but I woulda done the same in his place.
Now I'm not saying he is as good as Xavi or even Schweinsteiger but could u Imagine either of em' being bench role players for their respective national team?
He definitely would have. For Starters he woulda added Much needed creativity to England's midfield. Plus his ability to keep hold of possesion woulda meant England would have seen more of the ball than they did tonight.
Arterta is the Unluckiest player on Planet Earth. Woulda gotten into Every squad bar Spain's.

coogar: carrick is a passing maestro....he woulda done better than
gerrard and parker. his diagonal passes are what england
needed on the night
. one good pass from carrick to walcott
against a tired full back was the only thing needed in that
extra time.
Exactly!!!
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chic2pimp(m): 12:08am On Jun 25, 2012
I agree, They also needed to NOT play 4-4-2!! Goodness me!
They can't though. Not when all their Midfielders are all work man like.
You need a passer to make that walk. Bring Carrick in and it would work a treat.

coogar: this was exactly what i was harping about when hodgson made that selection.
you need a midfielder who can spread it to the flanks. that's what carrick
does best. he knows he's limited running with the ball, bursting through like
gerrard or parker......but carrick spreads the ball to the flanks immediately
releasing valencia or young to run at their markers.....
What England need is a Midfield three.
A destroyer a la parker, a box box midfielder ala Gerrard or Lamps and a Midfield General(Carrick)
Let the former two do all the runnings and let the latter dictate the pace and tempo of the Game.

coogar: even when walcott came on, gerrard/parker did not utilize his pace.....they
only passed to him when he was crowded out by italian defenders. yes, gerrard
and parker were good value when it comes to defending but central midfielders
need more ammo in their arsenal than just blocking/defending....they should be
threading through passes to the attacking players as well. 1 shot on target in
120 mins is a massive disgrace.
Walcott pace was not utilized because he was not getting quick balls.
By the time the ball got him the Italian defence had already re-organised.
The Azzuri's was fearful of England's pace and they were not being disingenuous.
Unfortunately it was not well utilized. The Midfielders took ages switch the ball to flanks or simply pass it forward.
Now Frankie Lampard may not have given the all action display of Gerrard but he certainly he woulda gotten the ball forward quicker.

Not surprised about the one shot on target.
We all knew Roy's tactics right from the get go.
Defend Defend Defend and then counter. Not a bad tactic but unfortunately he did not have the right players to follow through

AjanleKoko: Na wa oh.
The English press have taken to wanking all over Pirlo. Not surprising that they have never seen that type of penalty before.
Guilherme Siquera of Granada played exactly the same type of panaka against Barca's Victor Valdes in March. If he did that in England, Man City and Chelsea would have been battling for his signature, at 40 million pounds. However, he plays in Spain (and is still stuck in Granada embarassed) unfortunately.
They weren't wanking all over his penalty rather his overall performance.
He was the Epitome of Dominance tonight.
They were also left wondering of what might have been had they taken Michael Carrick along.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Euro 2012 All-Action Thread by chic2pimp(m): 11:12pm On Jun 24, 2012
AjanleKoko: It was said tongue in cheek. However, history may be on the side of the Azzuri.
Last time they met Germany in a major tournament, they looked like they were riding their luck, and Germany were the form team. Playing at home too. Well, what happened? Extra time, Pirlo, and Del Piero.

Lahm said before tonight's game that he was seriously rooting for England. You should imagine why, he's not stoopid.
Yh we have a fairly good record vs the Germans. Hopefully it continues.

The last time we met them in the Worldcup we were the better side and deservedly won. Buffon,Cannavaro, and Pirlo were magnificient that night.
And who can forget Pirlo's magical pass to Grosso. Definitely not me.

However this German side are a much better outfit than the one we met in 2006 while the Azzuri are a weaker unit so I am expecting a tight equally contested match
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chic2pimp(m): 11:03pm On Jun 24, 2012
Missing Link for England tonight, MICHAEL CARRICK

Looking at Xavi's dominating performance last night,Pirlo's tonight and Bastian to some extent vs Greece, it was fairly obvious to the Naked Eye what the Missing Link was
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Euro 2012 All-Action Thread by chic2pimp(m): 10:52pm On Jun 24, 2012
AjanleKoko: Still one of the best midfielders out there. The guy is absolute badass. Germany must be pissing in their drawers now, remembering 2006, and Pirlo grin
The second best Midfielder of the past 10 years. Only Xavi is better.

You must buy this year's Juve scudetto season. Dude was absolutely sensational.
One of the most dominating performance by a midfielder Serie A has seen in Decades. Phenomenal!!!
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Euro 2012 All-Action Thread by chic2pimp(m): 10:49pm On Jun 24, 2012
AjanleKoko: Italy vs Spain for the finals. Italy to win.

It is a good wish. But, not gonna happen, I'm afraid. Portugal have punched above their weight to get this far.
If France could be soaked like Garri, Portugal will park the nation's capital, most likely.
Italy vs Spain......That's a difficult call.

Germany certainly would not let us dominate the midfield as we did tonight
Plus they are much better attacking threat than England.
I'll give Germany the slight advantage as their a much clinical team. Unlike Italy they won't waste many opportunities infront of goal.
