We are off to a good start so that's a positive. Many refuse to call it another name than Hand Egg.


For years now, I have been trying to get mates of mine(especially Rugby loving ones) to follow the game and so far I have been unsuccesful(one possibly two Converts so far). THIS is the main reason why.

If you are used to the constant ebb and flow of a Football or Rugby game, the stop and start nature of an NFL game can quickly become infuriating. However I say stay with it and bide your time. Don't treat it like you do Rugby as the only similarity between both sports is the Shape of the ball.

It's most likely the rules that's makes it hard for a total beginner to follow. Little things like Mauls,Lineouts and scrummages can sound quite baffling to a beginner. However I say stick at it and continue to learn the rules and you'd grow love it. It's even easier for you as you are already a massive fan of American Football. It was Rugby that got me into American Football and eventhough I still prefer Rugby, I absolutely love the NFL.


Rugby League is the easier sport to follow as it has less rules however it is not as popular as Rugby Union
