Hmmm...@omobendel & @happytbaby still wonder why my aunt's was same as my dad though...i guess i will start taking a closer look to be sure...

happytbaby:
In the last one month I have filled at least five forms, only one of them was male and it was the only one that was different. It is definitely gender-specific.

@ladyguinivere and @omodadi i stand to be corrected though but I don't think the DS 160/form is gender specific. I believe the questions that pop up depends on the sponsor of the trip. I have helped an aunt who was sponsoring herself fill her DS 160/form and she was asked exact questions as my dad whose DS 160 I fill as well...meanwhile my mum who is been sponsored by dad is asked same typical questions as @nupital

nupital:
Thanks alot Omodadi....you guys are real MVPs...

Gracias!

And @justwise puts the link back after I summarize the article...lolzzzz...now I get it....great job being prompt at moderating though... smiley

ChicMalkia:
Anyways from the link I posted which was raptured, let me give a summary of the important points...it could help mums preparing for visa interviews.

According to the VO who wrote the article:
1) Applicants should stop insisting on showing documents because while certain documents are necessary for visa application for a lot of other countries, for the US visa interview it eats a lot of time. Thus because VOs do not have much time to make a decision, insisting and encouraging them to looknay letters and documents can impede an applicant's chances.

2) Applicants who refuse to give detailed answers really hurt their case and make the experience less enjoyable for the officer. Examples of conversations they enjoy include hearing about a student’s future plans, a proud grandfather going to see his grandchildren, or a brilliant doctor explain the presentation that she will deliver at a conference. Applicants should focus on explaining their interest in visiting our country and what connects them to Nigeria. VOs have very little time to make a decision and since the burden of proof is on the applicants to prove that they are qualified for the visa, it is best to engage in a conversation with us.

3) Applicants should understand the process and stop listening to bad information as well as presenting fraudulent documents. VOs want to learn more about your specific situation, so a visa package that you purchase and that provides identical details for other applicants does not represent who you truly are. No one can help get a visa but one's self.

4)VOs do not enjoy refusing visas. Each took a solemn oath to uphold U.S. immigration law and if an applicant does not meet the requirements for a visa, the attendant VO must refuse the application, no matter how much he/she like the applicant. Vos often get together to talk about the brightest applicants of the day and lament the difficult cases. And according to the VO who wrote the article, "I feel horribly every time I refuse a visa for a good, hard-working person because they do not meet the requirements. The thrill that I get is out of issuing visas, not refusing them."

The VI concluded with "people often believe that, in order to get a U.S. visa, they have to tell the story that they think we want to hear. The only story that we want to hear is the true story about you."

Hope this does help someone...

Hello, all you need do is book the ticket and choose "pay at bank" option. It holds for 72 hours during which you go to GTB with all your necessary documents and mklake payment. That's the process I have been using for years to buy BA tickets so I guess it still functions that way..

osat82:
Good morning everyone

I am due in June heading to Houston,I want to book my flight with BA and it amounted to $1395,however each time I try to pay online with my card it doesn't go,then I call my bank(Stanbic)and they said the limit is $1000,i tried GTB and first bank and the said the same thing, please does anyone have any idea/info on how i can pay for this flight plsssss.

Yes o I concur! Who is good is good...my aunt in new York doesn't send at all...if you like stay 6 months they will still treat you like a Queen because she knows when it comes to birthing and all its movements it ain't easy. I can recall how she constantly spoilt my daughter with baby clothes and toys constantly...while I was there for birthing, she even sheltered & catered for the infant child of a church member who just gave birth and was rushed to the hospital.

@girlloom if only you had taken the advise by @vcole and some others...I recall @madammamus repeatedly advised you shouldn't confront them unless maybe the day you are leaving. Just quietly do what you can to resolve the issue. The Lord will see you and your marriage through...

nefertitiram:
It doesn't matter, who is good is good. I did 5mths wit a cousin I met on facebook. Na tears dem take tell me goodbye.
