Hello Everyone,

This is going to be a long post so please pardon me. I only stumbled upon this thread after I had submitted my Canada Study Visa Application; after being a silent follower, I resolved to share my testimony when it came, hence, my joining at this time.

From the top; I was pressed for time so I applied for my TRV soon as my Letter of Acceptance came in, so I crash-coursed my online application, medicals and biometrics in a span of 2 days, so my application and biometrics was done on the 20th of May, 2016. Following this, I came across this forum online, I read through all the threads and I must say this is a commendable arena as the feeling of community is laudable. However, I will say I was very worried and anxious as I discovered that 1/15th of the documents most people submitted, I did not submit. Literally, I submitted only the documents that was asked on my online checklist. I contacted VFS severally to ask if I was in the wrong and should add additional documents and they just kept referring me back to the website. I went ahead to contact the International Students Office in my school and the response was that as a 1st time study applicant, it was advisable that I include all and any relevant documents though I should bear in mind that each application is case-specific and the VO will treat each case individually. I was of double mind whether or not to submit additional documents as some people on this forum did. I, however, trusted God and realised that I would be acting from a place of fear to do so. Please, don't get me wrong-I am not saying this was a wrong option, I simply did not feel that was the thing to do,judging from my spirit. I even discussed it with some close friends to know if I was insane (I am fortunate that they believed with me). So I left my application as is and kept praying to God and praising Him in belief. I will not lie, it was not easy; I kept doubting but would remain resolute despite how I felt or the thought of fear. I then read someone's testimony recently on the fact that he saw mistakes on his application and also submitted a minimal amount of documents and God came through for Him (did I mention I also later saw a typo on my LOE?!! Lol!). I tapped into this testimony and still kept believing.

So today, I got the usual 'no update' message from CIC. I, then, out of worry, I must confess, contacted VFS to ask if it was normal to go for 2 months with no medical call mail from CIC. Not long after the mail I sent, I got the 'You have a message' mail from CIC; opening my CIC account reminded me of a member, on this forum, who said opening her account was the longest 5 minutes of her life. I understood it perfectly. On opening it, I saw the usual 'You have no messages' column but I opened the 'check messages' column and saw medical passed. Much as I was relieved, I became worried again as I felt that would mean another faith-fear battle waiting for a final decision. For some reason (ITK, I suppose or joblessness or looking for hope), I scrolled down my account, only to see a 'Passport Request Letter' message. I scrolled up again just to be sure I saw the 'medical passed' message. I did. Nothing else changed but on scrolling down, I still saw the Passport request message. On opening it, the letter confirmed what I suspected-My passport has been requested.

I simply share this to give hope to someone out there in a situation similar to mine; if God says its your time, it is your time. Believe in God. If He did it for others, He will do it for you. This message may not be for everyone but for that one person, I hope it makes the difference.

A few things I learnt; Everyone's case is peculiar, prepare as well as you can. If you realise a mistake after application, please do what you feel is right, you can seek guidance but ultimately make whatever decision you believe is best. Secondly, precedents are valuable but please bear in mind that each application is reviewed on its own merit.

I am aware there are a lot of gurus on this forum; I am not 1 and I respect everyone who contributes meaningfully. I only thought to encourage someone.

I will be schooling in Toronto. I submitted:
-The CIC Forms
-Sponsor's Letter of Sponsorship(My Father)
-Sponsor's Proof of Income Tax Document (Notarised)
-Proof of Medical Exam
-Passport Data Page
-Letter of Acceptance/Admission
-Letter from School to Immigration
-Letter of Explanation

Some specific details that make my case peculiar:
a. My travel history shows I travel yearly, to different countries, for quite some time.
b. I have a previous masters in Law from the UK; I explained in my LOE that I require another Masters as I am changing areas of interest, though in the same field of law.
c. My Sponsor lives in America ( I explained in the LOE that this would guarantee that my Tuition and other payments will be made unhindered by exchange rates or transfer issues).

At the end of it all, the race is not to the swift...... I am grateful. Keep up the good work guys. I pray everyone that is hopeful will have testimonies to share. Wishing everyone the very best.
