Online medium Sahara Reporters had earlier published information that the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo was out of the country on a trip t Dubai to spend the Christmas Holiday.

However new information posits that the VP is not infact on holiday in Dubai and indeed ministered at the Redeemed Christian God of Church, Olive Tree Parish in Banana Island, Ikoyi.

Emergency teams are working to evacuate people from homes in York, as flooding continues to hit northern England. Police advised between 300 and 400 people to evacuate in York by the River Ouse and River Foss, with up to 3,500 properties believed to be at risk.

Hundreds of flood alerts and warnings are in place for England and Wales. More than 30, including six in York, are severe, indicating danger to life. David Cameron is due to chair an emergency meeting of officials later.

The prime minister tweeted on Saturday: “My thoughts are with people whose homes have been flooded. “I’ll chair a COBRA [emergency committee] call tomorrow to ensure everything is being done to help.”


York City Council said the River Ouse was expected to peak at more than 5m above normal summer levels on Monday afternoon. The Environment Agency said the River Ouse’s water level had reached 4.65m at 04:00 GMT on Sunday. Its typical range is between 0.5m and 1.9m.

I felicitate with all Nigerians, especially our Christian brothers and sisters, on the joyous occasion of this year’s Christmas. We must never again allow any group to hold the nation to ransom under whatever guise.

Let us also not allow current socio-economic and security challenges to dampen our expectations for a better Nigeria.

This administration has taken a number of measures to restore hope to our people. The 2016 Budget defines our commitment to giving Nigeria a new lease of life.

Our change slogan is not a campaign gimmick but a promise that must be kept. We are determined to bring about tangible changes in the lives of our people.

In this regard, efforts will be intensified to recover stolen funds, block revenue leakages and enthrone due process, transparency and accountability.

Public office is a public trust that must be held to the highest ethical standards.

Immediate past Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, is allegedly plotting to relocate from the United Kingdom where she is receiving treatment for cancer to the Commonwealth of Dominica.

According to the Nation, she plans to do this in order to avoid facing prosecution for alleged corruption perpetrated while in office. She is believed to be a citizen of the Commonwealth Dominica, a Caribbean country with only 72,000 people.


Alison-Madueke’s citizenship of the Commonwealth of Dominica was confirmed in May 29, 2015 and investigator in the UK has started keeping tabs on her movements after this detail was revealed by anti-corruption groups in the UK.

A letter obtained by investigators shows that there was plan to make her the country’s Trade and Investment Commissioner, which in effect grants her diplomatic immunity from arrest and criminal prosecution.

“I think the NCA is suspecting that she acquired the citizenship of the Commonwealth of Dominica with the intent to relocate to this country. This has opened a fresh bend into our investigation,” a source said last night. “It is not impossible that she had planned to escape to Dominica ahead of the inauguration of the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, because her appointment ought to be effective from June 1, 2016 for an initial period of three years.


“She has been placed under stricter surveillance in the light of the latest development. While the diplomatic aspect is being handled by the appropriate quarters, I can tell you that the NCA is collaborating with many agencies to bring her to account for any allegation against her.

A watch that was flown to the moon, of the same make and model as the watches NASA issued to all of its Apollo astronauts to wear while in space, was sold by Christie's on Tuesday (Dec. 15) for nearly a quarter of a million dollars to the watchmaker's own museum.


The Speedmaster chronograph, which was mounted to an experiment before it became an astronaut's memento, sold for $245,000 to the Omega Museumin Switzerland.

President Muhammadu Buhari has summoned an emergency meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) over the 2016 budget. The meeting, according to a presidency source, is scheduled to hold 10:00am today inside the Council Chambers of the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja.

According to reports, the meeting would finalise arrangements for Tuesday’s presentation of the 2016 budget to the National Assembly. The Minister of Budget and National Planning, Senator Udoma Udo Udoma, had after the FEC meeting held last Monday said the Federal Government had proposed an “expansionist” budget of N6 trillion for 2016.
