Politics / Tolu Ogunlesi Denies Writing For Economics which called GEJ Ineffectual Buffoon by chiddysblog: 9:27am On Jan 30, 2016
Sequel to today, there has been allegations pointing out that journalist and creative writer, Tolu Ogunlesi allegedly co-authored an article, by The Economist, which labeled Nigeria’s former president, Goodluck Jonathan, an ineffectual buffoon. The article also described President Buhari’s approach to dealing with Nigeria’s economic challenges as “crude.”

The article which attracted the condemnation from many Nigerians, saw The Economist trending for hours in the Nigerian social media space.

Tolu minutes ago has taken to his twitter to deny all allegations, he said “I'm surprised and amused by the allegations that I wrote or contributed to the Economist 'ineffectual buffoon' piece. I did not. While flattered to be associated with the Economist, whose literary style I immensely admire, I cannot claim ANY credit for that piece. I am not and have never been one to be anonymous when making journalistic comments about people. I do not hide behind anonymity . I will be sending a letter to the online publication that fabricated the allegation, asking for a retraction and a public apology. Moral of the Story: beware of rumours that cause those who fall for them to tweet like ineffectual buffoons.”

Politics / Attack On Escravos Gas Pipeline Threatens Power Supply by chiddysblog: 6:28am On Jan 17, 2016
The attacks on the Escravos–Warri-Lagos Pipeline may lead to significant drop in power generation as a result of disruption of gas supply to power stations in Ogun State, Kogi State Ondo State and Egbin Power Station in Lagos State.

An engineering team from the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has been sent to ascertain the impact, as well as the implications of the multiple breaks on the gas pipeline. The pipeline was blown-up Thursday night at multiple points in Opudebubor, Okpelama and Kpokpo area, as well as Chanomi creek and Sahara, near Chevron platforms with reports linking it to resumed militancy in the delta.

It was gathered that the Escravos-Lagos Pipeline, owned and operated by the Nigerian Gas Company (NGC), a subsidiary of the NNPC, also supplies crude oil to Warri Refinery and Petrochemical Company, as well as gas feedstocks to the West Africa Gas Pipeline Company (WAPCo), West African Portland Cement Plants at Shagamu and Ewekoro in Ogun State, PZ Industries at Ikorodu, and City Gate in lkeja, Lagos.

The Group General Manager in charge of Group Public Affairs Division of NNPC, Mr. Ohi Alegbe said the attacks would affect gas supply to some power stations. He however stated that he was not sure if it would lead to complete shutdown of the affected power stations.

Politics / ‘fr. Mbaka Should Shut Up, Focus On The Word Of God’ – Ohanaeze by chiddysblog: 10:13am On Jan 15, 2016
Apex Igbo socio cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo yesterday descended on the Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, over his New Year prophecy that President Buhari’s life is in danger, saying the Catholic priest has become a distraction in the Nigerian polity.

President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Anambra State and the coordinating Chairman of Ohanaeze in the seven Igbo speaking states, Elder Chris Eluemunor at a media briefing yesterday, in Awka, said contrary to Fr. Mbaka’s prophecy, President Buhari, as the Commander-in-Chief was in safe hands. He said Buhari was doing a good work by fighting corruption while Ohanaeze fully supports his anti graft war.

“Fr. Mbaka should really shut up and preach the word of God which he was ordained to do than raising unnecessary alarm and creating panic in the country. Even if a revelation was given to him, he should keep it to himself and pray over it. Fr Mbaka’s statement is a distraction to what the President is doing and he should stop the kind of alarm he is raising in the country.”

Health / Fear Of Lassa Fever Increases Cost Of Rat Traps In Ilorin by chiddysblog: 9:57am On Jan 15, 2016
Lassa fever, which has claimed over 40 lives since its outbreak last week, has suddenly jacked up the cost of rat traps by over 50 per cent in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital. Sellers of the product, once perceived as the less- privileged in society, are now the toast of many, especially the privileged class. The patronage for their products and services in exterminating rodents from households has skyrocketed in the last few days.

This development is not unconnected with the outbreak of the Lassa fever virus in some parts of the country, which medical experts have said is caused by rats.
According to Anthony Obi, who hawks the rat killer products, 2016 has started on a very good note. “We thank God for good market on the rat killer gum. We are even short of it now. Gone are the days when they would price it for as low as N100. Today, we don’t sell it for less than N500. In fact, the product is very scarce to come by now.”

“Some buyers from the GRA are demanding for more of rat gum everyday. We heard there is one disease caused by rats that is killing people now. Rich people are afraid of death. But my brother I am happy because the business is good for us.”

Meanwhile, the Kwara State government has put in place measures to prevent and bring under control the outbreak of the deadly disease, which has been reported in parts of Oyo and Niger states, that share boundary with it.

Politics / Jafaru Isa’s Arrest Was Stage-managed By EFCC To Deceive Nigerians by chiddysblog: 6:49am On Jan 15, 2016
The Ekiti State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has declared that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested associate of President Muhammadu Buhari, Colonel Jaffar Isa (rtd), to give the anti-graft war an undeserving credibility.

The party insisted that the manner of the release after being quizzed by the commission over his involvement in the alleged $2.1 billion arms deal gave a strong suspicion that the arrest was a smokescreen meant to delude the Nigerian populace.

The party noted that the case of Isa, a former military administrator of Kaduna State, whom the anti-graft said was released after repaying N100 million out of the money collected from the former National Security Adviser (NSA), Colonel Sambo Dasuki, was concocted by the EFCC.

The PDP in a statement by the state Publicity Secretary, Jackson Adebayo, in Ado-Ekiti yesterday, said the EFCC and the federal government only concocted the Isa story as a cover-up because of the credibility problem that the anti-corruption war was suffering because it was obviously targeted against only members of the opposition party.

It accused the All Progresssives Congress (APC)-led federal government of deliberately deceiving the whole world with the drama of the arrest, release and refund of the money Isa allegedly collected from Dasuki.

“The whole thing was like a drama from Nollywood where you can see the end of a film from the beginning. The arrest, purported refund of N100 million by Isa and his eventual release was a charade taken too far.

“The EFCC and the FG should explain to the world what was the money collected by Isa meant for as was done to other cases since the beginning of the indiscriminate arrest and perpetual detention of the PDP members in the same category,” he said.

He added that it had become a moral burden for the EFCC to tell the world what the retired colonel said he collected the money for, as the anti-graft body used to do in matters concerning PDP members.

Adebayo added that the EFCC should let the world know the balance that Isa would still refund and why he was not charged to court.

According to him, the anti-corruption war of Buhari was only aimed at PDP and opposition members, adding that the rule of law must not be trampled upon in the so-called war against corruption.

Politics / APC Revokes Senator Shehu Sani’s Suspension by chiddysblog: 11:03pm On Jan 11, 2016
The national wing of the All Progressives Congress Party, APC, has declared null and void the 21-month suspension of the senator representing Kaduna Central senatorial district, Senator Shehu Sani.

The Vice Chairman, Northwest zone of the party, Alhaji Inuwa Abdulkadir revealed this while briefing newsmen shortly after a closed door reconciliatory meeting with aggrieved stakeholders of APC in Kaduna yesterday.

He acknowledged that a letter was forwarded to the Party’s national office by some ward Exco on the suspension of Senator Shehu Sani.
He added that due process was not followed and therefore declared it null and void.

“Senator Shehu Sani is still the APC senator for Kaduna State Central Senatorial District, ” Abdulkadir declared, pointing out that “The suspension of Senator Shehu Sani is not in conformity with the party’s rules and regulation; the ward that it was alleged suspended him has dissociated itself and we have looked into his case and found him not guilty.”

He said that members discussed for peace to prevail in the party as well as for Nigerians to get the expectations of what they desired from their leaders.

“We encourage dialogue for solution, hence the leadership of the party intervened on how to solve the problem i Also, a chieftain of the party in Kaduna state, Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed thanked the national Secretariat for listening to the State branch of the party.

He assured that the state branch would support Governor El-Rufai to achieve success in his administration in Kaduna State.n APC, Kaduna state,” he affirmed.

Politics / White Paper Indicting Rotimi Amaechi For N96 Billion Corruption by chiddysblog: 9:52pm On Jan 11, 2016
The corruption case instituted by the Rivers State Government against its former governor and Nigeria’s minister of Transport, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi doesn’t look it is going away anytime soon.

The Trent has exclusively obtained the White Paper indicating Mr. Amaechi in a corruption investigation. The report places the value of fraudulent dealings by Amaechi as governor at $400 million (N96 billion). The paper also indicts Mr. Tonye Cole, managing director of Sahara Energy Plc, for questionably dealings with the Rivers government during Amaechi’s tenure.

Mr. Cole is named in the questionable sale of four gas turbines belonging to the Rivers State government and the 40-year concessioning deal of Olympia Hotel for the sum of $86,250 per year. In the document, Mr. Cole’s company, NG-Power HPS Limited is indicted for receiving a payment of $53 million as repayment for a non-existent loan from the Rivers State Government.

Amaechi is also indicted in the corrupt disbursement of N2 billion designated for Agric Credit loans. Amaechi has been in the news for the past seven months, ever since he left office, for alleged mismanagement of funds, abuse of executive powers, cronyism, and outright fraud during his tenure as Rivers State Governor from 2007 to 2015.

His nomination as a minister under President Muhammadu Buhari’s government was almost scuttled by these allegations of abuse of office and public trust. Amaechi, who is one of Buhari’s two ‘Super Ministers’ has been identified by stalwarts of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the chief financier of Muhammadu Buhari’s presidential campaign. In a televised event mid-2015, it was announced that Amaechi contributed 80% of the funds used to bring Buhari to office as President.

In addition, Amaechi is praised by APC leaders for single-handedly funding the governorship campaigns of at least 5 APC governors including that of former Speaker, Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State. The Rivers State Government set up a Judicial Commission of Inquiry to investigate Amaechi’s tenure as governor. The Judicial Commission was chaired by Honourable Justice George Omereji and it submitted its report in October 2015.

In order to stall his persecution as recommended by the Judicial Commission, Amaechi swiftly filed a case against the government. The particulars of the case are as follow: CA/PH/342/2015: ROTIMI AMAECHI V GOV. OF RIVERS STATE. Riki Tarfa, SAN, is Mr. Amaechi’s lawyer.

Politics / Arms Deal: Why We’ve Not Invited Jonathan – EFCC Boss by chiddysblog: 5:11pm On Jan 11, 2016
He stated this Monday during an ineractive session with online journalists in Lagos, southwest Nigeria.

According to Magu, nothing will be left to chance in bringing corrupt elements to justice, whether the persons are highly placed or not, adding that the extent of the looting of the nation’s treasury was mind numbing.

On whether former president Goodluck Jonathan would be invited over the Dasuki arms scandal, he said Jonathan has not been invited because memos and documents regarding the disbursement of the $2.1 billion indicate that the money was not approved for political campaign.

Politics / Family Of Former NIMASA Boss Akpolobokemi Sues EFCC For N100m by chiddysblog: 5:04pm On Jan 11, 2016
A Federal High Court in Lagos today adjourned till February 4, the fundamental human rights enforcement suit filed against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), by Timi Beauty Akpobolokemi, the wife of the former Director General of Nigeria Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) Patrick Akpolobokemi.

In an affidavit sworn to by brothers of Dr. Akpolobokemi for emotional and psychological damages, they are asking the court for compensation of N100m. In court today, Joseph Nwobike (SAN) who announced his appearance for the applicants, told the court that the EFCC might be unaware that the case had been transferred from Justice Ofili Ajumogbobia's court, where it was pending, to the present court being presided over by Justice Saliu Saidu. He indicated he had not received any process from EFCC, and therefore asked for an adjournment of hearing.

On November 19 last year when the case was first mentioned before Justice Rita Ofili Ajumogobia, she recused herself from the case for what she called “personal reasons”, saying it would be returned to the Chief Judge for re-assigment.

In the said fundamental human rights enforcement suit filed before the court, the co-applicants alongside Mrs Akpobolokemi are Clement Akpobolokemi, Stephen Akpobolokemi, Julius Akpobolokemi and Victor Akpobolokemi, biological brothers of the former NIMASA boss.

In an affidavit filed before the court by Dr Nwobike on behalf of Stephen, the deponent averred that, on 31st July 2015, armed operatives of the EFCC, numbering about 25, stormed the residence of the former NIMASA boss at Banana Island in Lagos State in connection with the agency’s investigations into the stewardship of Dr. Akpobolokemi at NIMASA.

Stephen averred further that without any search warrant, the EFCC operatives harassed them and coerced Mrs. Akpobolokemi to write an incriminating statement against her husband. He stated that without a court order, the EFCC blocked the woman's account at United Bank For Africa Plc, and that she was invited by the agency to report at their office on the 5th of November 2015 despite never having been on the staff of NIMASA and never impeding the investigation of her husband.

The four brothers also alleged that they have been under constant threats of arrest and detention by EFCC on the account of been the brothers of Dr. Akpobolokemi, and that Julius’ bank accounts with Ecobank Plc and Diamond bank Plc have been frozen, as has Victor’s account with First bank of Nigeria.

Stephen also contended that by the actions of the anti-graft agency, their fundamental right to liberty has been breached.

Consequently, the applicants are asking for damages in the sum of N100Million against the EFCC for the irreparable emotional and psychological damages jointly and severally they have suffered. They are also urging the court to declare that the harassment and intimidation and the threat of their arrest and detention on account of their affinity with Dr. Akpolokemi are unconstitutional, illegal and unlawful.

They are also urging the court to declare the freezing of their accounts to be illegal and to unfreeze them.

Justice Saidu adjourned the matter to February 4.

Politics / 5 Arrested Over Alleged Plan To Attack Goodluck Jonathan’s Residence In Bayelsa by chiddysblog: 9:56am On Jan 07, 2016
The police said the suspects, Asupha Emeka, 34; Ebipre Ebebi, 25; Samuel Joe, 27; Okilo Matthew, 25; and Timiere Matthew, 25, were arrested in a hotel in the Swali area of the town as they were perfecting the plan to attack the former president’s house.

Though the motive for the attack was not immediately known, the police believe it was part of a plot to create tension in the state ahead of Saturday’s supplementary election in the state.

Police Public Relations Officer, Bayelsa State Command, Asinim Butswat, confirmed the arrest adding that the police acted on a tip-off.

“On the January 6, 2016, at about 1500hrs, based on a tip-off, detectives from the Anti-Kidnapping and Anti-Vice unit stormed a hotel premises in Swali community, Yenagoa, and arrested five suspects.

“The suspects are Asupha Emeka, Ebipre Ebebi, Samuel Joe, Okilo Matthew and Timiere Matthew.”

He added that the suspects were currently undergoing interrogation and that investigation was ongoing.

However, a security source, who craved anonymity, said the planned attack on Jonathan’s residence was a ploy to create the impression that the opposition was after the life of Jonathan.

He said, “The planned attack on Jonathan’s house was to give an impression of violence ahead of the supplementary election in the state. What the mastermind intends to achieve through that is what I cannot fathom.

“You know this is the time of politics when politicians design all manner of tricks, crisis and strategies to heat up the polity. This is one of those aspects of dangerous politics they are playing.

“The ringleader of this dastardly act, we learnt is a member of Jonathan’s party. The whole plot was contrived to give the impression that the opposition is the one responsible.”

Politics / Buhari Does Not Interfere With EFCC, ICPC – Lai Mohammed by chiddysblog: 10:05pm On Jan 06, 2016
The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, on Wednesday faulted claims by the People’s Democratic Party that the current ordeal of its spokesman, Chief Olisa Metuh, at the hands of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission was an attempt to silence the opposition.

He stated this in an interview with State House correspondents inside the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Mohammed was asked to react to protests currently trailing the arrest of Metuh and the prosecution of another leader of the PDP, Haliru Bello, as well as his son.

The minister said the Federal Government was not dictating to the nation’s anti-graft agencies on who to arrest or prosecute.

He urged journalists to also conduct their independent investigations on the allegations levelled against the suspects and verify if they were genuine or not.

Mohammed, “I think the first point to make is that this government is not micro-managing any of the anti-graft agencies. I know for a fact that they don’t contact the President or anybody before they do their job.

“I think the media also has to do more than they are doing right now, they should investigate these allegations and also make their independent judgment about it.

“Honestly, if the EFCC or ICPC says that they are able to trace certain amount of money to my account, I don’t want you to believe it, I want you to also ask for proof; do your investigation.

“I can assure you that this government, no functionary in government micromanages or directs the EFCC or ICPC on who to arrest and who not to arrest.”

Politics / Femi Fani-kayode Issues Statement Admitting He Received Funds From Private Indiv by chiddysblog: 12:17pm On Jan 06, 2016
I read ead with amusement the allegation that was made in SaharaReporters, the unofficial media wing of the Buhari administration, Nigeria’s Secret Police, the DSS, and the EFCC, that I was given 1.7 billion naira cash by President Goodluck Jonathan. This is false. A few hours later they changed their story and said that I received 1.7 billion naira from the office of the former NSA, Colonel Sambo Dasuki. This is also false.

I have never received one kobo from President Jonathan himself, Colonel Dasuki or any other member of President Jonathan’s government. I have not ever been in receipt of any public funds and neither was I the beneficiary of any payments in cash, transfer, cheque or otherwise from any government official during the tenure of President Jonathan.

As Director of Media and Publicity of the Jonathan/Sambo Campaign organisation I received money on behalf of the Directorate of Media and Publicity which I headed from private individuals and companies during the election campaigns but these were not public funds but rather private contributions specifically for the Presidential and other campaigns.

Such moneys were transferred into my account by the Director of Finance of the Presidential Campaign Organisation and that account was SPECIFICALLY set up for the purpose of running the publicity and media aspect of the campaign for the whole country and my Directorate.

These private individuals and companies paid their contributions into a designated account which was provided and controlled by the Director of Finance and from there she transferred it to the accounts of the various Directors and various individuals that were running for public office that the PCO supported.

The money that was sent to me for my Directorate by the Director of Finance was used in a lawful and responsible manner and by the time the campaigns were over my Directorate had paid all of its bills for services rendered and was not owing any media house or anyone else one kobo.

The Presidential candidate of our party President Goodluck Jonathan, the D-G of the PCO, the Auditor of the PCO, the Advisor to the PCO and the Director of Finance of the PCO all received reports and saw the results of the efforts of my Directorate. Not only were they satisfied with our efforts but they also commended us.

Those private individuals and companies that were kind enough to support and fund President Jonathans presidential campaign with their hard earned money were perfectly within their rights to do so and they were more than happy with our efforts as well.

They also commended us. Even though we ended up losing the election we fought a very virile, strong, visible, historic and aggressive campaign and the Nigerian people can attest to this. The encounter with the APC was an epic one and it was probably the most active and gruelling electoral battle in the history of our country.

Not one kobo of public funds was spent by or given to my Directorate during the campaign and as far as I am aware not one kobo of public funds was spent by or given to the PCO. Presidential campaigns all over the world cost huge amounts of money and Nigeria is no different.

This is especially so when it comes to publicity and media. My Directorate was difficult to run and our work was capital intensive. We did not use marshmallows, pebbles, and grass to pay for all the services rendered to us and all the television and newspaper adverts were fully paid for with money.

Nothing was done or given to us free of charge by anyone. This should not be a surprise to anyone as the APC and President Buhari’s campaign organisation did the same.

I opened an account specifically for the funds that were used to run my Directorate and fund all our activities in order to ensure accountability and transparency.

We also audited our accounts regularly and insisted on the highest level of professionalism from all those that worked for or with us.

Since when such matters have become a crime or subjects of criminal investigations I don’t know. If it was a crime to speak up for Jonathan during the campaign they should just say so.

If it is a crime to be a member of the PDP and to be in opposition they should just say so. If it is a crime to speak up for and defend President Jonathan and key members of his government after he has left office they should just say so.

If it is a crime to oppose the Buhari administration and speak up against his gross violations of human rights that they are indulging in and the violation of court orders they should just say so.
During the 2015 elections the PCO and my Directorate spoke up and campaigned for many PDP members who were running for public office and we funded and worked for them too. That was our job and I am very proud of the PCO and the role we all played despite limited resources.

I am particularly proud of the efforts of my team at the Directorate and I can assure all those that care to listen and that refuse to be misled by the government propaganda machine that we did nothing wrong. All we did was run an effective campaign and we did so with private funds and not funds from the government.

I am aware of the attempt by the government and my enemies to discredit me, smear my name and silence me by alleging all manner of wrongdoing but I am not in the least bit perturbed. As always my innocence will fight for me and my God will never forsake me.

I know that this government is capable of doing anything, of inducing anyone to say anything and that they have no sense of decency, justice or fair play. They are prepared to charge anyone just for breathing the air if needs be and they can attempt to frame up anyone that they believe is a thorn in their flesh.

I have always known this yet I refuse to run away or to be silenced and I will not be cowered. Though I have been warned and told over and over again by those amongst them who care for my well being that I have been listed down and targeted for persecution I am not in the least bit concerned about their evil plans for me. My life and destiny is in the hands of God and not theirs and He will fight for me and vindicate me.

As I have always said, the night may be dark but joy comes in the morning. If it was a crime to use moneys that were freely donated by private individuals from lawful and legitimate sources to fund the Presidential and other campaigns let them say so.

No election campaign anywhere in the world, including that of President Buhari was run with just words, goodwill, grass and pebbles and neither were we given free campaign adverts or air time. All these things were run and paid for with large sums of money.

This is especially so with publicity and media because that was the lifeblood of the various campaigns. I repeat, there is nothing that we did in the campaign organisation or that my Directorate did that Lai Mohammed, Buhari and the APC did not do in theirs. As a matter of fact they spent far more than we did but I have no idea where they got their money and whether they were private or public funds.

Most importantly my Directorate and, as far as I am aware, the Jonathan Sambo Presidential Campaign Organisation did not receive ANY public funds from any government official or office to run our campaign. Of this I am absolutely sure and I am very confident because I made a point of asking and insisting that this must be so. These are the facts and I eagerly await my accusers, persecutors and detractors.

Meanwhile I shall continue to live my life in peace, I shall not be intimidated by the boastful threats of the enemy and I will continue to live my life in the usual law-abiding manner that I have always done.
It is expedient and necessary for me to speak out now even though the EFCC has not said a word on this matter or even confirmed that there is indeed an investigation going on. This is because the modus operandii of the Commission of late is to leak their intentions to SaharaReporters before they strike and abduct their victims.

This has happened on a number of occasions and sadly they use such mediums to tell all manner of lies about the case and the accused to the public. By the time they finish they would have convicted their victim in a vicious smear campaign and media trial which is usually plagued and fuelled by lies and falsehood.

It is for this reason that I have taken this opportunity, whilst I am still at liberty, to tell the Nigerian people the truth and let them have all the facts. I sincerely hope that my statement will help to clarify matters in the eyes of the public regardless of whatever lies that they will soon be inundated with by a desperate, weak and wicked government. I fear them not because my life is in God’s hands. God bless Nigeria.

Politics / Dasuki’s Wife Begs DSS To Put Her In Custody With Husband by chiddysblog: 11:28am On Jan 01, 2016
There was a mild drama at the headquarters of the Department of State Security Service (DSS) on Tuesday night when the wife to the former National Security Adviser (NSA) Sambo Dasuki begged top officials of the agency not to allow her husband die in custody.

She and other relations had waited patiently for Dasuki to meet the last peg of his bail conditions, a surety with about N250million property.
But immediately Dasuki was released at the prison, he was re-arrested by the DSS.

After several hours of trying to locate her husband, she returned to the DSS office and demanded for him or in the alternative, she should be locked up with him.

She reportedly said: “Nigerians should help me beg the Federal Government, the DSS and other agencies to release my husband who did his best to serve this nation. He is ill, he needs medical attention, he is not pretending. I implore the DSS not to allow him to die in custody.

“I saw my husband and I felt dejected. He is not just well. Nigerians should assist him to get a reprieve. We(myself, the children and relations) are all destabilised. We don’t know what is happening because three courts have granted him bail. Why are they after him? Let those concerned respect the court by releasing my husband.

“There is no way my husband will run away from the country under any guise. They should please follow the rule of law and uphold his right to bail.”

A source said Dasuki’s wife was allowed to see her husband.

“We have followed the rule of law , the ex-NSA is in safe custody. He was once in DSS custody and he was never maltreated and he had access to medicare,” the source said.

A judge of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Justice Peter Affen last Wednesday banned the EFCC from re-arresting Dasuki, ex-Minister Bashir Yuguda, former Director of Finance at the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) Shuaibu Salisu, Sagir Attahiru and former Governor Attahiru Dalhatu Bafarawa.

The order of the court followed the granting of the application for bail by counsel to the defendants, including Peter Akper (SAN); Ahmed Raji (SAN); Dr. J. O. Olatoke (SAN); H.O. Afolabi (SAN) and A.U Mustapha

Politics / Why I Visited President Buhari – Father Mbaka by chiddysblog: 6:17pm On Dec 27, 2015
The Spiritual Director of the Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka has said his recent visit to President Muhammadu Buhari in Aso Rock, Abuja was scriptural.

Recently he paid the president a visit at the Aso Rock Villa and according to Mbaka who spoke to Sunday Sun through his Personal Assistant and Media Chief of the Adoration Ministry, Mr Maximus Ugwuoke, a lawyer, said the attacks on the spiritual director was uncalled for as prophets of old like Mbaka had at one time or the other visited their leaders.

“We read those speculations in the media. Many questioned why Fr Mbaka had to visit President Buhari. Those disparaging remarks were actuated by jealousy and chronic envy among Christians nowadays. Fr Mbaka had faced even more satanic blackmail and devilish character assassination than this.”

“It didn’t start today as he had faced worse criticisms in the past. We tend to forget that the scriptures told us in Psalm 105:15 “Touch not my anointed and do my prophets no harm”

“Is it a crime for a man of God to visit the President? Apart from being a priest and an anointed Prophet of God, is Fr Mbaka not a Nigerian? If yes, has he no right to enter our Aso Rock (the Presidential Villa).”

“For visiting Mr President has Fr Mbaka done what is unscriptural? In Exodus 5, did Mosses a prophet of God not visit Pharaoh in his seat of power in Egypt? Did Samuel not visit Saul in his seat of power in 1st Samuel 15? In 2nd Samuel 12, did Prophet Nathan not visit David in his seat of power? Did we not read about Elisha and Ahab in the scriptures, in 1st Kings 17?

In Acts 10 did Peter the first pope of the Church not visit Cornelius in his house? Did we not read in the Bible that even Jesus himself left heaven and came to man on earth? Is it not the hallmark of a real and humble anointed man of God to do what the biblical prophets did? We wonder why those whose insinuations of what transpired during the meeting between Fr Mbaka and Mr President are poke nosing for. Did Fr Mbaka himself not answer their questions in the interview he granted the media during the visit when he stated that he had come to bless Nigerians and pray for their peace? This was aired on Channels, AIT and published in some newspapers. Those who say Fr Mbaka came to be settled by Mr President or that he came on Biafra agenda are on their own.

Like I said, Fr Mbaka is not new to such accusations but one thing is clear, Fr Mbaka is not a Ghana-must- go-prophet. Even his accusers know this fact and that was why I said earlier that they make those speculations out of sheer envy and chronic jealousy.

Adoration people worldwide know who Fr Mbaka is in matters of morals and chastity and we are happy with him. He is such a man that practically lives a life of fasting and outpouring for the needy.

Nigerians are happy with him. We continue to appeal to him not to leave Mr President to fall into the hands of hawks and vultures. We urge him not to mind the accusers and the critics but to keep praying for Mr President as a product of his prophecy. His detractors are just looking for a way to ensure that President Buhari fails so that they would face Fr Mbaka. We urge him to keep blessing Nigeria and Nigerians.

It will be recalled that Fr Mbaka had predicted before the presidential election early this year that Buhari would defeat former President Goodluck Jonathan which generated a lot of tension, including the threat to his life.
