In a bizzare case, 12 men underwent forceful circumcision over the weekend in Kenya .The men were ambushed after word went round that they had not undergone the cut.

A 35-year-old man, Yinka Offehin, is battling for his life at a private hospital in Lagos State after his scrotum was cut by the children of his landlady.
The Edo State indigene, who resides on Popoola Street, off Abaranje Road in the Ikotun area of Lagos, was said to have been attacked while sleeping in his room with his family members.

His wife, Bisi, who was with him when the incident happened, identified the assailants as Solomon and Damilola, the children of the landlady.

She said, “On Thursday morning, around 3am, while we were sleeping, we heard loud bangs on our door. We initially thought they were armed robbers because the house beside ours had recently been robbed.“When they entered, we saw they were children of our landlady. They began destroying our electronics and other property.

“There were two of them. One held a knife in his hand. They took N800, 000. They descended on my husband and he also fought back. In that confusion, my husband shouted and we saw that one of the attackers had cut Yinka’s scrotum. I can’t say what they used to cut off my husband’s scrotum.”

She added that her husband, though in pain, was able to hold on to one of his attackers till dawn, while the other fled the scene.

Bisi said her husband could not be admitted at a general hospital because of the ongoing doctors’ strike, but was eventually taken to a private hospital in the area.

A 10 year old girl strapped with an explosive belt was yesterday July 29th discovered by security forces in company of two other people, a man and an 18 year old girl, while traveling along a road in Katsina state.

The DG of the National Information Center, Mr Mike Omeri said this while briefing news men at the National Information Center;

"Security forces on Tuesday, July 29, at about 10pm along Zaria Road, Tudun Wada of Funtua Metropolis, arrested three suspects believed to be members of the Boko Haram sect. The three suspects consisted a male named Iliya Haliru, and two females – Zainab Musa, 18, and Hadiza Musa, 10. The three suspects were arrested in a Honda CRV. When they were directed to disembark for security check, 10-year-old Hadiza was discovered to have been strapped with an explosive belt. And immediately, Iliya and Zainab made attempt to escape with the car but were later blocked by other concerned Nigerians and subsequently arrested. The police successfully unstrapped the explosive.”

He appealed to parents to monitor their wards so they do not get initiated into such evil acts.

The Kwara state Police command yesterday July 23rd paraded two men who they said are involved in trading of human parts.

The men whose names were given as Amos Kareem and Abubakar Ladan were arrested with human head, leg and hand in Tabira village, Okuta in Baruten LGA of the state, according to a report by Vanguard.

When interviewed, one of the suspects, Abubakar Ladan said Amos Kareem promised to give him a motorcycle if he could find him human head, hand and leg. His desire to own a motorcycle made him go to a cemetery where he exhumed bodies and cut off their heads, hands and legs (pictured above).

When asked what he wanted to do with the human parts, Amos Kareem said he sold them to politicians. He however refused to disclose the identities of the politicians.

The police also paraded a man said to be an accomplice, having accommodated the suspects in Tabira village, though the man denied knowledge of the business Kareem and Ladan were involved in.

Sad one, A businesswoman, identified as Lizzy, has been found dead at her apartment on the Odusanya Oduguwa Crescent, Green Estate, Amuwo Odofin Area of Lagos State.The incident happened on Saturday morning.
Sources told Punch that the 39-year-old indigene of Anambra State was murdered in cold blood by her boyfriend who also carted away her money, ATM cards, jewellery and a Range Rover Sport.
Our correspondent learnt from a police source that Lizzy, an executive in a networking firm, was planning to travel to the United States on Thursday (today) when she was strangled by the suspect.
The source said,


“She was into networking and owned houses in different parts of Lagos. She was an international businesswoman and travelled round the world.She had said she would be travelling to the US this week and had gone to the bank with her boyfriend to withdraw N4m.When they both got to her house, the man tied her hands and strangled her. He took the money and went away in the car.”

When our correspondent visited the victim’s residence on Tuesday, he saw that the house was locked up.
A security man, who did not identify himself, said the house was shut by the police.
“The police have been here and they locked up the house,” he said.It was learnt from a reliable source that the deceased had four children from a previous marriage which had broken down.
He said,

“She was initially married and even had four children. We learnt that her husband impregnated their maid and she said she could not live with the shame. She separated from the man.Since then, she had had several boyfriends who promised her marriage but only duped her. She even had one of them arrested.

A 'possessive and controlling' husband battered his sleeping wife to death with a hammer, hitting her 10 times after he found a text message she had sent to another man..

Danish Irfan, 22, hit his wife Ridda Zanab’s skull so hard that fragments of bone were forced into her brain, killing her within minutes.
The sustained attack, which involved at least 10 blows as his wife lay sleeping under a duvet, was sparked by the discovery of a text message she had sent to a man named Rob, which read: 'I luv yu, mwahhh, gud nyt.'

The 21-year-old victim had only given birth to the couple's daughter two months before her death.

A lecturer in the Faculty of Law at the University of Nigeria Nsukka, Dr Bede Opata has reportedly committed suicide over a yet-to-be ascertained reason, Thisday reports.

Sources within the university say the 38 year old law lecturer killed himself in his apartment within the town on Saturday July 19th but his body was only discovered on Sunday July 20th.

A Malaysia Airlines flight from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, crashed today in eastern Ukraine.

Malaysia Airlines confirmed via twitter that it lost contact with Flight 17 and that the plane's last known position was over Ukrainian airspace.

According to Anton Gerashchenko, adviser to the Ukrainian Interior Ministry.The aircraft was "shot down" over Ukraine by "terrorists" There were 280 passengers killed as well as 15 crew members...
