Arsenal's European Nightmare Continues: When Even Tottenham Have Done What You Haven't For years, Arsenal fans have enjoyed reminding Tottenham Hotspur supporters about trophies, league positions, and the North London pecking order. But after another European final defeat, one uncomfortable fact remains impossible to ignore: Tottenham Hotspur have won major European trophies. Arsenal have not. Read that again. For all the jokes about Spurs being "bottlers," for all the banter about Tottenham's trophy droughts, for all the claims that Arsenal belong among Europe's elite, the historical record tells a different story when it comes to continental football. Tottenham have lifted European trophies. Arsenal are still waiting. Another European final was supposed to change that. Another opportunity arrived for Arsenal to finally remove the asterisk that has followed the club for decades. Another chance to join the exclusive club of European champions. Instead, the wait goes on. And so does the ridicule. This is what makes Arsenal's European story so frustrating. Domestically, they are one of England's most successful clubs. They have won league titles, FA Cups, and produced some of the finest footballers the Premier League has ever seen. Yet when the lights shine brightest in Europe, something always seems to go wrong. The Invincibles could not do it. Thierry Henry could not do it. Dennis Bergkamp could not do it. Patrick Vieira could not do it. Cesc Fàbregas could not do it. And now another talented Arsenal side has failed to do it. Meanwhile, Tottenham's European honours remain safely in the history books. That reality should sting Arsenal supporters because North London rivalry is built on bragging rights. Arsenal have often had the upper hand domestically, but on the European stage, Spurs possess something Arsenal still desperately crave. A European trophy. Football is ultimately judged by moments. Liverpool have Istanbul. Manchester United have Barcelona in 1999. Chelsea have Munich in 2012. Tottenham have European triumphs that their supporters can celebrate for generations. What is Arsenal's defining European moment? For too many neutrals, it remains a final defeat. That is not the legacy a club of Arsenal's stature should accept. The painful truth is that Arsenal are running out of excuses. They have the finances. They have the stadium. They have world-class facilities. They have elite players. They have an ambitious manager. At some point, "progress" must become silverware. At some point, reaching finals must become winning finals. At some point, Arsenal must stop talking about belonging among Europe's elite and start proving it. Until then, every conversation about European football will end with the same uncomfortable conclusion: Tottenham Hotspur have done something Arsenal Football Club still haven't. And after another final ends in heartbreak, that truth hurts more than ever. |

Tax...a very un-serious government At this time? You want to tax poor people? In US and UK, you don't tax poor people They even give unemployment benefits . But here , poor people must pay tax by all means You said if you don't earn more than 800k per year you should not pay tax ...if someone earns 1.2 million per year, can this amount get him a good apartment in Lagos? Yet he must pay tax . Wickedness |

A big shame on Tinubu I don't think he deserves re-election Even in Yoruba Land. The only region you can count on is facing insecurity , banditry attacks and they are being killed and you cannot do anything? Tell me why we should support you ? How have you been beneficial to SW? and the nation at large? Let's look elsewhere, let's look up to God, Trump& Nethanyahu and maybe the European union. |
