In a very heartbreaking incident in DR Congo, a kidnapper was arrested by a local security group with two young Ladies he kidnapped and Poisoned as well. The Ladies were immediately put in a taxi with the arrested criminal at the back seat of the car and were driven to the nearest hospital for immediate medical care. The Ladies were already unconscious of their environment but fortunately were still breathing as at the time the security men came to their rescue and drove them to the hospital. Should A Christian Make Too Much Profit In Sales? Whether a Christian should make "too much" profit depends on what is meant by "too much." The Bible does not condemn profit itself. In fact, it commends wise stewardship, hard work, and successful business. What it condemns are greed, exploitation, dishonesty, and taking advantage of others. Here are some biblical principles: 1. Profit is not sinful God blesses diligence and faithful work. Proverbs 10:4 – "Lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth." Proverbs 14:23 – "All hard work brings a profit." Making a healthy profit is a legitimate reward for the risks, skills, and investment involved in running a business. 2. Avoid greed A Christian's goal should not be to maximise profit at any cost. 1 Timothy 6:10 – "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil." Money should be a tool, not a master. 3. Be honest in pricing Charging high prices is not automatically wrong. However, deceiving customers, using false weights, or exploiting people in desperate situations is sinful. Proverbs 11:1 – "The Lord detests dishonest scales, but accurate weights find favour with him." Customers should receive fair value for what they pay. 4. Love your neighbour Jesus taught believers to treat others as they would like to be treated. Matthew 7:12 – "So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you." Before setting a price, a Christian can ask: Is this price fair? Am I taking advantage of someone's ignorance or desperation? Would I be comfortable paying this price myself if I were the customer? 5. Be generous God blesses those who are willing to share their blessings. 2 Corinthians 9:6–8 Proverbs 11:25 A profitable business can become a channel for helping employees, customers, the church, and those in need. Practical examples Buying a product for ₦10,000 and selling it for ₦15,000 because of transport, rent, taxes, marketing, and business risk is generally reasonable. Buying it for ₦10,000 and selling it for ₦50,000 simply because a customer has no alternative and is in urgent need may be ethically questionable, depending on the circumstances. If a product is genuinely rare, premium, or expensive to source, a much higher margin can still be fair, provided the customer is not being deceived. The balance A Christian businessperson should aim for: (a) Honest pricing (b) Quality products and services (c) Fair treatment of customers (d) Reasonable profit (e) Generosity with God's blessings The Bible does not set a maximum percentage for profit. Instead, it calls Christians to conduct business with integrity, fairness, and love. A business can be highly profitable and still honour God if its success comes through honest work, excellent service, and ethical practices rather than greed or exploitation. In the viral video, he was seen at some point pretending to be helping her and then started undressing her to take advantage of her. He ran out of luck as the person capturing the moment with phone raised alarm and young men in the area caught up with him in the act and gave him a befitting loads of disciplinary action before handing him over to the police for further investigations and prosecution for sexual assault against a drunk woman who never gave any form of consent. It has been a season of suffering for NiMet's members of staff as they have been owed minimum wages of Some Months in 2019 and 2024. Furniture allowance of 2025 remains 65% to be completely paid at the moment. August was said to be the month it will be paid but there are other allowances yet to be paid too. Currently according to members of staff of the agency, the Agency has been unable to pay them their Subsistence allowance since May 2026 till date. It has been a rollercoaster of meetings and casting of blames at NAMA and other agencies owing the agency for Months. The NiMet management claims that because those they render services to haven't paid, they're unable to pay Their staff their entitlements and allowances of all kinds. Many staff members are currently complaining that because of all these lack of payment of due allowances, they're living daily on loans and are unable to pay their children's school fees. They take loans to pay house rent and all. According to an insider, many staff can't afford to transport themselves to work after first week of salary payments as they haven't been paid any due allowance lately. Back in May 2027, media outlets rushed and broadcasted that NiMet salary has been upgraded to NAMA's structure and that by June 2026 ending, they'll get paid the new salary but June came and passed nothing new was paid. Stories flying around has it that they will get it by August. The staff don't know what and who to believe anymore. According to some members of staff, it is a hopeless situation within the agency right now. Some training allowances are also being owed some grade levels till date. A very important thing to note is that without NiMet giving weather predictions and forecast, no aviation activity will take place in Nigeria but the members of staff that help the entire aviation industry in this capacity are living an impoverished life at the moment. Many staff members were fair to the Honourable minister of Aviation Festus Keyamo as they keep saying that he has been instrumental in getting approvals for so many requests of the Agency for upgrades here and there but implementations habe been a huge setback to seeing the members of staff happy and fulfilled at their jobs. Who can help the Agency out of this predicaments at the moment remains a question that has been begging for answers within the aviation industry in Nigeria. A woman, who was seriously injured when she was set on fire during an altercation in Whithorn, Westmoreland on Thursday is to be transferred to a hospital in Kingston for further treatment. The 42-year-old businesswoman is admitted at Cornwall Regional Hospital with 50 per cent burns to her body. Two other women who were involved in the brawl are in custody. The allegations are that the businesswoman went to a gas station in Whithorn, where she got into an argument with a pump attendant. It's understood that the women had been embroiled in a dispute for well over a week. The businesswoman was told to leave the premises by the manager. She complied, but returned with her sister, which led to an escalation of the conflict. There was a tussle, during which the pump attendant poured gasolene on the businesswoman, before using a lighter to set her on fire. The fire was extinguished by the owner of the gas station. Reports has it that the pump attendant was stabbed by the businesswoman's sister during the incident.
