CelebritiesBrad And Angelina Attacked... by chinkorieyahoo(op): 12:20pm On Jul 25, 2013
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie almost had their iPad containing all their personal data stolen when it was left unattended to a paintballing bark. A man has been arrested for trying to steal Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's iPad. The incident occurred earlier this week when the A-list couple's eldest son Maddox, 11, went paintballing at the Hollywood Sports Paintball Park in Bellflower, California, accompanied by a bodyguard. While a camouflage-clad Maddox - who has siblings Vivienne and Knox, four, Shiloh, seven, Zahara, eight, and Pax, nine - was racing round the park, a thief tried to make away with the family's shared gadget containing all their personal data. An unidentified man in black gloves was caught red-handed in the 'Mr & Mrs Smith' stars' SUV trying to steal the iPad, which was labelled 'Family'. Local authorities arrested him at the scene, the MailOnline reports. Brad, 48, and Angelina, 38, have rarely had any breaches of their security in the past. In May, police arrived at the couple's French Chateau Miraval estate to find two men dressed as the Hollywood duo trying to break into the grounds. The incident later turned out to be part of a television prank. The couple - who are expected to wed this year - are said to be happier than ever and sources claim Angelina's recent mastectomy, which she had after discovering she carried the BRCA1 mutated gene, making it likely she would get breast cancer, has brought them closer together. An insider said: ''They've overcome some enormous hurdles like Angie's recent life-saving double mastectomy but it's given them a new appreciation for their amazing family life.''

Celebrities6 Nollywood Classic Movies Ever by chinkorieyahoo(op): 2:53pm On Jul 22, 2013
Some things never grow old; they may have been brought to life decades ago but when you reminisce; you get the same feeling you got the first time you saw them. Classic movies do just that. They’re re-watchable and memorable.

A classic movie is akin to an ageless beauty; it doesn't matter the time or period the film was produced, because people can relate to the storyline in each era. The plots are solid. The stories are graspable and the acting flawless. These films are enjoyed generation after generation. Classics basically are original ideas which touch people across the span of time.

Nollywood has had its fair share of classics producing some movies we would never forget. Let us take you down memory lane as we count down some of Nollywood’s finest movies.

6. Living in Bondage

This is considered the first Nollywood blockbuster hit movie which kicked off the Nigerian cinema industry.

Living in Bondage tells the story of a man who joins a secret cult, kills his wife in a ritual sacrifice, gains enormous wealth as a reward, and is afterwards haunted by the dead wife's ghost. The movie was directed by Chris Obi Rapu, written by Kenneth Nnebue & Okechukwu Ogunjiofor and produced by Kenneth Nnebue.

The film was shot straight-to-video and stars Kenneth Okonkwo (Andy), Nnenna Nwabueze (Merit), AMMA winner Kanayo O. Kanayo, Nollywood actors Francis Agu (of blessed memory), Okechukwu Ogunjiofor and a host of others.

5. Diamond Ring

“Can you vouch for the company your children keep”? This phrase was the popular catchword for this movie. “Diamond Ring” left parents at the edge of their seats wondering indeed what their kids had been up to in school and away from home. Movies back then had a lesson to teach. This movie certainly passed on its message clearly.

Diamond Ring was an extraordinary movie with a fantastic cast and an incredible story about a gifted young boy Chidi (Teju Baby Face) who was admitted into the university at an early age. In school, he befriended the wrong crowd and joined a cult. The consequences of his actions are frightful. Diamond Ring had an all cast in Richard Mofe-Damijo, Liz Benson, Susan Cave, Sola Shobowale, Teju Babyface, Zainab Buki Ajayi, Bimbo Akintola etc.

This movie was one of Nollywood’s most successful attempts at a thriller. The elements of suspense and horror were woven together perfectly to make this movie a resounding success.

4. Domitilla

Domitilla was produced a time when it was “forbidden” to talk about prostitution, much less capture with camera the tricks and styles of the trade. Only one “bold” producer had broached the topic of prostitution in Nigeria (Glamour Girls) at that time.

However, Domitilla was a calculated attempt to depict a trend that was on the rise in society without offending the sensibilities of the viewing public. The movie showcased the life of an average prostitute and her quest for survival; it was a combination of serious humour, empathy and emotion, all struggling for a place in the heart of the viewer. The language of the prostitutes was “Bendel Pidgin”; the type spoken in Warri and Benin.

This movie saw Ann Njemanze delivering one of her better performances. The movie was produced and directed by Zeb Ejiro, the cast include Anne Njemanze, Sandra Achums, Kate Henshaw-Nuttal, Ada Ameh, Enebeli Elebuwa, Charles Okafor, Sonny McDon, Maureen Ihua, Basorge Tariah Jr., Patience Oghre.

3. True Confession

This movie had Liz Benson delivering one of her greatest performances.

We still recall how Liz combined the role of an unmarried lady; that of a newly wedded woman and an aged mother effectively. Most industry critics agreed that it was her role in ‘True Confession’ that crowned her as the unmistakable queen of the screen.

The story and stellar acting delivered by the cast all combined to make this one a true Nigerian classic.

The cast include: Liz Benson, Zack Orji, Sola Fosudo, Clarion-Chukwura Abiola, and Jennifer Ossai.

2. Violated

This unmistakable classic stole the hearts of the audience. Violated is a story of triumph of love against all odds.

Heartache of the noblest kind: a classic story of secrets, betrayal and the overwhelming power of love. A beautiful woman from a poor background fell in love with a young man from a wealthy home and their love was put to the test when the young woman’s former boss turned up; he once raped her, got her pregnant and then cast her out. Then the ex-wife of her husband reappeared in their home and caused quite a stir…

Directed by Amaka Igwe ; Cast include: Kunle Bamtefa, Ego Boyo, Mildred Iweka, Wale Macaulay, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Joke Silva

1. Igodo

Igodo is unforgettable and definitely one of the best movies ever produced in Nigeria.

Igodo tells the story of a community ravaged by death; members of the community die one after the other because the son of Amadioha was buried alive and the land was under a curse. On the hills of Amadioha through the forest of a thousand demons, seven men must sacrifice themselves to save their dying community.

The movie was produced by Ojiofor Ezeanyaeche and directed Andy Amenechi, Don Pedro Obaseki

Cast include: Pete Edochie, Norbert Young, Sam Dede, Charles Okafor,Obi Madubogwu, Chidi Mokeme, Prince James Uche, Ignis Ekwe, Joe Layode, Genevieve Nnaji, Gentle Jack etc.

Which cities have the most millionaires? A new report by Wealth Insight reveals the answer, looking at the number of people with over a $1 million in assets, excluding their primary residence. So if you ever need to find a dollar, these ten cities might be a good place to start...

10. Singapore

Singapore

It is not really surprising that Singapore made it onto this list: it has long been associated with a sense of cosmopolitan living. And it might boast the highest concentration of millionaires in a single city: 17 percent or around one out of every six people in Singapore has over a million dollars. And one out every 10 Singaporean families are thought to have wealth exceeding $100 million.

09. Shanghai

Shanghai

The numbers vary from report to report, but a few estimate that Shanghai is home to around 23 billionaires. Still, to put that in perspective, it is China’s most populous city with over 23 million residents since 2012. Around one in every 175 people in the city is a millionaire, but they will need the cash: in 2011 property prices there rose by over 20 percent.

08. Hong Kong

Hong Kong

As a long time trading hub and the spark that lit China’s capitalist engine, Hong Kong is a natural source for the wealthy. The total wealth of people with more than $1 million here apparently exceeds $560 billion. Though the former British colony’s growth has slowed, it still attracts the super-wealthy with 40 billionaires setting up shack there.

07. Osaka

Osaka

Located across Japan from Tokyo, Osaka is the country’s third-largest city and, in terms of GDP, ranked seventh in the world. It is also Japan’s top commercial center, which makes the high number of wealthy people there no surprise. Yet it has quite a low count of billionaires - fewer than 20.

06. Beijing

Beijing

A new report suggests that Beijing has 8,800 people with more than 100 million Yuan (around 16 million), though what one quickly learns is that there is no real consensus on which place has the richest people. Still, it’s a given that China’s crown jewel has a lot of the super-rich, which have a role to play in the city’s highly-inflated property prices. Nonetheless, this suggests that a vast chunk of Beijing’s millionaires sit at the low end of the wealth scale.

05. Frankfurt

Frankfurt

You have a reasonable chance of running into a millionaire in this German city, where there are 75 for every 1,000 citizens. Curiously Frankfurt has only one billionaire, but it must be nice being the only filthy rich individual in town. Yet the proximity of wealth is not surprising: Frankfurt is the second-largest metropolitan in Germany and the largest financial center in continental Europe.

04. Paris

Paris

22 billionaires call Paris home, according to the Economist, and it is fair to assume substantially more own property in the city of love. How many will continue to stay, though, is up in the air thanks to new super taxes introduced by the government, with some heading to Belgium and other, like Gerard Depardieu, begging for a Russian passport. It has sparked a bit of a selling panic, with a reported 400 homes worth more than a million dollars put on the market in 2012.

03. London

London

London would love to be at the top of the list and, in terms of multi-millionaires - people with over $30 million - it wins by boasting over 4,200 such lucky individuals. Britain’s capital and arguably the financial hub of Western Europe also houses 54 billionaires. One out of every 38 people in London City is a millionaire.

02. New York City (Manhattan)

New York

The Big Apple may be number two in the number of people with a million dollars in their pockets, but it comfortably takes the lead with billionaires: 70. Curiously though it can boast around the same population of people as London - around 8.3 million - Manhattan has nearly half as many people with more than $30 million. But this is because most millionaires choose to stay outside of Manhattan, which is a pretty expensive place.

01. Tokyo

Tokyo

One out of every 28 people in Tokyo is a dollar millionaire, yet next to Osaka and Frankfurt it has the lowest number of billionaires on this list: a mere 12. The reason why Tokyo wins, though, is population density: over a 5th of Japan’s millionaires reside in Tokyo, which clears Manhattan by 71,000 millionaires. In comparison, Manhattan is home to only 7 percent of the U.S.’ millionaires. Tokyo is also the world’s largest metropolitan area by population, further stacking the rich list in its favour.

Family5 Ways To Spot A Cheating Wife by chinkorieyahoo(op): 4:32pm On Jul 09, 2013
Having a cheating wife is a concern that haunts many men in relationships. Just the thought of your lady putting her paws on another man makes your skin crawl. That's why it's always important to keep a lookout for some of the surefire signs you have a cheating wife.

One of the major signs you have a cheating wife is if you spot any changes in her behavior, so if she's always been a guy's girl and has a lot of male friends, don't get paranoid when you hear that she was seen at the movies with her friend Haruna.

The following are five signs you have a cheating wife:

1- She's no longer as needy

If she was never able to go shopping, exercise or cross the street alone, and she suddenly doesn't need your company, it may mean that someone else is filling your shoes. It's possible that she just needs time to herself, but if she's unusually independent when she used to be overly needy, it may signal that she's just no longer as needy... of you.

2- She no longer gets angry

She used to get angry if you didn't want to meet her for lunch or come out with her and her friends, but now everything you do is all right by her. Once upon a time, your every move had to be premeditated, but now all the small things you used to mess up aren't enraging her. This could be a good thing, but it should make you wonder why she no longer cares.

3- She's being secretive

She's no longer sharing her daily events with you, and in order to find out what she's doing, you'd have to hack into her BlackBerry because she's not volunteering any information regarding the goings-on in her life.

4- She places the focus on you

When you do ask her questions, she turns the tables on you. The former chatterbox's batteries have run out, and when you ask her how her night was, mum's the only word. It's now all about you, you, you, rather than "I did this" and "I went here last night."

5- She showers you with pleasure

Now that it's all about you, your girlfriend is always complimenting you, asking you to go out, giving you "I love you" cards for no reason whatsoever, and even offering to wash your car and watch the boxing match with you. While these gestures are more than sweet, it's this kind of overcompensating behavior that can make one suspicious. If she's bombarding you with niceties, it might be nice to know what's really going on.

TV/MoviesBeam On Nollywood: Nollywood Fever by chinkorieyahoo(op): 4:26pm On Jul 09, 2013
Since its emergence at the turn of the twenty-first century, the Nigerian movie industry “Nollywood” has had a profound influence on Africans. Like a virus, Nollywood, permeates the African continent as viewers cannot get enough of Nigerian Movies. Nollywood movies are shown in Public buses, restaurants and hotels leaving viewers glued to their screens. The appearance of African Magic on DSTV has also added to the popularity of one of the fastest growing industries in Nigeria.

Reports indicate that the industry releases more than 50 full length features a week, making it the world's second most prolific film industry. Movies produced in Nigeria are as popular abroad as they are at home. It’s been said that: Ivorian rebels in the bush stop fighting when a shipment of DVDs arrives from Lagos and Zambian mothers say their children talking with accents learnt it from Nigerian television. When the president of Sierra Leone asked Genevieve Nnaji, a Nigerian screen goddess, to join him on his campaign trail, he attracted a massive crowd at his rally.

However, despite its raging popularity, Many Africans have mixed feelings about Nollywood. Some governments are worried about the level of influence these movies have on their citizens and they talk of the “Nigerianisation” of Africa as against the “Colonization of Africa”, worrying that the whole continent has come to “snap its fingers the Nigerian way”.

Due to this, several governments have brought in protectionist measures against this fever. Despite recent collaborations between the Ghanaian movie industry “Gollywood” and Nollywood, Ghana started demanding $1,000 from visiting actors and $5,000 from producers and directors. The Democratic Republic of Congo has tried to ban Nigerian films altogether. Five decades after Africa gained independence, its elite fear being re-colonized, but this time from within the continent. The objective is to protect their citizens from elaborate exposure to Nigerian movies and players as well as discourage the booming Nollywood industry from spreading their wings outside the shores of Nigeria.

Nollywood's moguls make no attempt to deny their influence over the continent; they just regard it as a thoroughly good thing. “We give Africa development and knowledge,” says Ernest Obi, head of the Lagos actors' guild, “We teach people things, if they call us colonial masters, too bad.”

CelebritiesTOP 5: Music Collaborations Of 2013 So Far by chinkorieyahoo(op): 3:20pm On Jun 25, 2013
2013 has recorded some of the “baddest collabos” in the Nigerian music industry. Nothing’s more exciting than watching two artistes you love work together on a song; whether they seem like a perfect fit or a totally surprising match-up. We’ve rounded up the top 5 Music Collaborations of 2013 so far, because they’re collabs. Grab a friend and check them out!

Ghost Mode

When it comes to the current Nigerian music industry, few artistes have proven that singing in indigenous languages is the next level for Hip-hop in Nigeria. Phyno and Olamide prove that Hip-Hop sounds just as good (if not better) in Nigerian dialect as Igbo meets Yoruba when the two indigenous rappers go head to head on GhostMode. They both brought their A Game on this track.

The song is a club banger, it trended for days going on weeks on the internet and got so much airplay on different radio stations leaving everyone dumb-founded and wondering about the brain behind the song. It also topped the MTV music charts for weeks.

The video is a bit creepy and original as Clarence Peters delivers again on the visuals for Phyno‘s“Ghost Mode” featuring Olamide. The multiple award winning director did a good job with the video effects.

JAIYE JAIYE – WIZKID FT FEMI KUTI

Who would ever think someone like Wizkid would go out of his comfort zone to feature afro beat legend Femi Kuti on Jaiye Jaiye having worked with different international and local artistes like Akon, The Game, Wale, Chris brown, M.I, Iyanya e.t.c

After so much hype on the song, Wizkid on the Star Boy/EME platform dropped the much anticipated single Jaiye Jaiye featuring living afrobeats legend Femi Kuti on the saxophone; a song that was well received by fans as they flooded the social platforms with comments and good-will messages to Wizkid and Femi; some even went ahead to thank Femi for his role in the song. Though a video for this song is not yet out, the track has had so much airplay on the radio and internet. The track was produced by Sarz, mixed and mastered by Foster Zeeno.

With this track Wizkid has been considered by some as the future of afrobeat in the country.

EZIOKWU – LYNXXX FT IKECHUKWU, ILLBLISS & PHYNO

As a follow-up to his scorching “Fine Lady” with Wizkid, Lynxxx returns with an all-star cast of Eastside Top notch artistes, for what has so far been termed as “the Igbo Anthem”. Just as it was rightly predicted, ladies and gentlemen, Hip Hop has moved to the east as every artiste on the song came through with hard bars. Ejim ihe ina cho, Eziokwu!! Lynxxx teams up with his Igbo brothers, Ikechukwu, IllBliss & Phyno to bring this track that goes by the name Eziokwu.

The Sarz produced single shows all artistes exhibiting lyrical word play at its best and highlights Lynxxx in a totally unexpected element from his usual commercial sound; kudos to him for the this concept. For those wondering what “Eziokwu” means, in Igbo it means the truth.

This video was directed by Clarence Peters and shot in Lagos, Nigeria.

ABOKI REMIX- ICE PRINCE FT [SARKODIE (GHANA), WIZKID (NIGERIA), MERCY JOHNSON (NIGERIA), M.I (NIGERIA) AND KHULI CHANA (SOUTH AFRICA)]

Aboki(original version) was released on the 28th August, 2012. Aboki – which means ‘friend’ in Hausa- was written by Ice Prince and produced by the young talented producer Chopstix. This hit is still making waves locally and internationally. While the original Aboki celebrated some of the most successful individuals who hail from the Northern part of Nigeria; on the remix, Ice features some of his Aboki’s [Sarkodie (Ghana), Wizkid (Nigeria), Mercy Johnson (Nigeria), M.I (Nigeria) and Khuli Chana (South Africa)].

The ABOKI REMIX was released on the 25th January, 2013 and it has been receiving massive airplay on radio and internet; if the video is released it is pretty well going to trend for a long time considering the artistes on the track.

SEXY MAMA – IYANYA FT WIZKID

The “Kukere Master” has been a force to reckon with since he dropped his hit single “Kukere” last year; he didn’t disappoint us with “Your waist”. Iyanya teamed up with Wizkid to release one of the hottest collabos so far in 2013 “Sexy Mama”; it is a club banger and has had massive air play on radio both within and outside Nigeria. The video is literarily a dream come true, featuring live from the hottest known catalogues; some of the creamiest and sexiest ladies dancing to one of the biggest club bangers recently released.

The video is definitely going to hit the music charts; both locally & internationally. It was directed by Sesan. The track will definitely be nominated in any award category this year.

Beautiful concept from the Made Men Music group.

CelebritiesFinally: Sarz Opens Up About "Jaiye Jaiye" Success With Wizkid by chinkorieyahoo(op): 3:12pm On Jun 25, 2013
For the past decade, the standard of the Nigeria music industry has grown with so much sophistication; from the poetic delivery of artiste’s lyrics, to the spectacular combination of unique melodious instruments in their beats not forgetting a beautiful blend of colours and picture to produce their videos. The industry has evolved so much that it is now home to young great talents who are not just creating a niche for themselves in the country but also in Africa and beyond.

Aside the glamour and the glitz of the music industry today; there are people behind the scene that actually make a song what it is. These are known as the producers!

www.happenings9ja.com caught up with one of the fastest rising producers in the country today known as “SARZ” and he shares his life, love and future with us. Roll with us into the world of Sarzbeats!

Q: Tell us about yourself

A: My name is Osaretin Osabuohien. I hail from Edo state and am from a family of three; I have an elder brother and a younger sister. I was born and bread in Lagos; went to All Saint Nursery and Primary School, and then later moved to Goodwill Secondary School before gaining admission to the University of Lagos. Now, aspiring to go to a music school in Atlanta.

Q: How did you get into the music industry?

A: I had this producer friend that brought software to my house and asked me to work on it which I did and it eventually turned out to be my first beat and it wasn’t that bad because I sold it and since then I decided to be a producer. Also I’d always loved listening to music, especially beats like that of Timbaland, Pharrell and Dr. Dre.

Q: Describe your person?

A: Am interesting

Q: When did you start producing professionally?

A: I started producing professionally in 2007

Q: How was your first production?

A: My first production was “See Drama” for Lord of Ajasa and it was my break out into the industry because almost all the acts then heard my sound and were curious to know the “new producer that has this fresh/new beat”. I got a lot of good reviews from that which gave me the opportunity to work and meet with a lot of people.

Q: For how long have you been producing?

A: From 2007 till this date, have been producing.

Q: What inspires your beats?

A: There are so many but all inspiration comes from God. Also, I listen to a lot of producers and lots of songs but more importantly is the fact that I always want to supersede my previous works; that gets me on my toes all the time.

Q: Do you have a process of making your beats?

A: Actually, there is really no defined process; it all depends on my mood. I could start with samples: drums, keys, or someone can just sing to me and I’ll create a beat from that but most times I make the beats from the top of my head.

Q: Do you play any musical instrument?

A: I play the keyboard

Q: What has been your best production so far?

A: I can’t really pin-point my best production because I try as much as possible to produce all my beats to a comfortable standard where I can listen to it in the future and still be proud of it. So I can’t really choose.

Q: What informed the phrase “Beat of life”?

A: Actually the story behind that phrase is simple. A friend of mine walked into the studio when I was working and he said “ hmm!… beat of life!” and that was it. It then gave birth to the “Sarz of life” and all.

Q: How did you feel about Don Jazzy’s attribution to you?

A: That was really a great moment for me because for a producer as great as Don Jazzy to acknowledge me for the work I have done really means a lot to me and I’ll always be thankful for that.

Q: How did the attribution affect your life; both business and person?

A: It did change things because more people started seeing me in a different light. That if Don Jazzy can reckon and recommend this person as a good producer to work with; he really is. And that changes everything.

Q: What inspired your hit beats like “Jaiye jaiye”, “Samba”?

A: Firstly, no one knows if a song will be a hit or not, you can only assume the song will be a hit until it gets released and you get the response from people. But for “Jaiye jaiye”, it is a beat I made for my album that am working on. But Wizkid called me and was talking about recording new things/songs and pleaded with me to come to his house and this was about 1am. I got there at 2am and I played some of my materials, while he played tracks from his laptop. Didn’t know he would like the beat we used for the song at first, though I knew the beat was good but when he heard the beat he just started free styling and that was it.

Q: Do you think producers get the respect and recognition that they deserve?

A: In Nigeria, I don’t think producers get the respect that they deserve. Firstly, we don’t have a set up structure here for them; it is easier for the artiste because they get to perform in shows and get more popular thereby make more money. Whereas for producers, most of the sources of our income are not in place like no one pays you royalty, no one pays you a certain percentage for every work you’ve produced, etc. It’s really hard for producers in Nigeria. For me I believe that the lyric is 50percent of a song while the beat is 50percent, together they make a song; therefore, if producers are 50percent of a track, they should be getting as much respect as the artiste when the song is released.

Q: You are signed to Trybe Records, what do you think of record labels signing producers?

A: Am signed to Trybes as a Hybrid artiste and that is why am releasing an album; I don’t need to say anything or sing on the track. Am more or less like a Dj Khalid, David Guieter, etc. So am not signed on as a producer but really there is value in signing a producer because a producer is open to more opportunities, the artiste under the label are open to premium beats.

Q: What do you think being compared to people like David Guieter and Dj Khalid?

A: I don’t think there is any comparison because the sky is big enough for every bird to fly. I just want to do what I know how to do best, just want to enjoy what I love to do which is music.

Q: Tell us about your upcoming album?

A: It is going to be very dynamic. It would not sound like anything you’ve ever heard. I am taking my time to work on it because I’ll feature some international acts all over Africa and some Nigeria artistes as well.

Q: When will it be released?

A: For now, I’ll say next year. Am not sure yet but let’s look at next year.

Q: Can you mention a few names you intend to feature?

A: Trust me, any name you probably can think of will be there as far as Nigeria is concerned. Like Wizkid, Wande Coal, Shank, etc and that’s just for Nigeria. I will also feature acts from all over Africa and some international acts too, you should wait for it.

Q: Which producer influences you?

A: To be honest, any producer can influence me as far as I hear your beat. I don’t restrict myself to one person; I listen to everybody; so I can be influence by other people’s work. It might be a guitarist or anything at all.

Q: Does been signed to Trybe Records restrict your job in anyway?

A: No, it doesn’t, because am signed as an artiste and not a producer.

Q: Are you single?

A: Yes but not searching

Q: How do you handle your fans, especially the female fans?

A: I guess we all have an understanding and I love the love that the fans show me and I want to give that back in any way that I can. If it is through the beats I make for now, so you can keep dancing I will. I know with time I’ll find more ways to give back because I really do appreciate them a lot.

Q: Apart from your album, what other project are you working on?

A: Am working on a lot of things, but they are all under construction and as time passes you’ll know.

CelebritiesThe Most Controversal Nollywood Actors by chinkorieyahoo(op): 10:50am On Jun 03, 2013
Nollywood has been referred to by many as the most scandalous sector in the entertainment industry. Some claim that trouble has a way of finding the actors and actresses while others have said it comes with the territory.

Here are some actors and actresses who controversies have trailed for one reason or the other:

Ini Edo

Inibong Edobong, better known as Ini Edo, has been synonymous with sex scandals in the industry. She was believed to have snatched her husband, Philip Ehiagwina from society lady, Ruth Okoro and also linked with a romantic affair with a governor in the South-South region of Nigeria. She was rumored to have recently left a club with another man.

Chika Ikeh

Second, we have Chika Ikeh. As lots of people migrate from Facebook to Twitter so has this sultry actress who some of her scandals emanated from her tweets. First she tweeted the N5 million naira cheque she received for shaving her hair for a movie and followed with tweeting her WAEC result to prove her age to those who accused her of reducing her age. When this beauty opened a boutique called ‘Fancy Nancy’ in Abuja, a barrage of accusations met her attempt at entrepreneurship as many speculated she couldn’t have gotten the money from her acting but from a politician. She was yet again in the news with reports of her heading to court to file for a divorce from Tony Eberiri, the husband she allegedly married in 2006.

Tonto Dikeh

Tonto Dikeh is unarguably the most controversial Nollywood actress. Her bouts of controversies attributed to her rise in fame. Since her break into Nollywood in 2006, the daring actress has played all kinds of roles, most of which bothered on near nudity and what many love to call soft porn. She made is still makes headlines not only with her movies and most recently music; but also with reports of her relationship first with Wiz Kid, then Iyanya and now Solid Star.

Cossy Orjiakor

Although Cossy Orjiaku’s career in the industry was short lived, her tendencies to flaunt her body parts especially her boobs at every opportunity have become the label through which people identify her. She was rumored to have had intercourse with a dog for a fee but Cossy has denied this at every turn. She went on to build a house which she called ‘Play Girl Mansion’ after Hugh Hefner’s popular ‘Play Boy Mansion’ and got a knock from people who accused her of acquiring the money through shady means since she is no longer active in Nollywood and not affiliated to any business whatsoever. Her tweets have also sparked abuses and comments from people especially her most recent tweet where she claimed to be HIV positive after just going for a test. She said this was to prove those who claimed she had the virus wrong. She even went on to urge her accusers to go ahead and take the test.

Jim Iyke

Nollywood bad boy Jim Iyke is apparently a bad boy off screen, he has continued to disappoint fans with scandals he could have avoided. Jim was banned alongside Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde and Genevieve Nnaji by the movie marketers in 2005 after they reportedly requested exorbitant fees to feature in movies. He once engaged a commercial taxi driver in a brawl under Ojuelegba bridge. He has also engaged Victor Obodo, a journalist working with the now rested Fame weekly magazine in fisticuffs. The most recent is his rumoured scripting of his reality show ‘Jim Iyke unscripted’

Emeka Ike

Prolific actor, Emeka Ike was never seen as a controversial person but his battle for power with fellow actor, Segun Arinze put him in that category. Emeka was seen as the ‘black sheep’ of Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) when he was persistent in his fight against Segun over the post of the presidency of the Guild. When Segun resigned, he still went ahead to disrupt the Guild’s election making.

Many have attributed the genesis of Nollywood controversies to the desire to remain relevant and not be swept into oblivion by new talents. The desire for relevance is not new as Hollywood is also rife with controversies. The question then remains: do these controversies help to keep things interesting in the movie industry or will it be the undoing of the industry? Hollywood still stands despite all of the controversies attached to popular actors and actresses; Nollywood may very well stand the test of controversies too.

Here are the cars that will have you ‘wowing’ at its features and most especially, its prices.

Lamborghini Veneno - $3.9 million

It’s too late to pick up one of these beasts, as all three that will be built sold before it even hit the showroom floor. Packing a 6.5 liter V12 with a maximum speed of over 220 miles per hour, this car is out of reach to most of us. The lucky few may spot it on the street, however, as two models have been bought by Americans.

W Motors Lykan Hypersport - $3.4 million

Expensive supercars have long been common in Europe, but the Lykan Hypersport hopes to make history as “the first Arabian hypercar.” Debuted at the 2013 Qatar Motor Show, the Hypersport features an engine with 750 horsepower and a top speed of 245 mph. Plus, with its diamond-crusted LED headlights, there’s no hiding this hypercar’s over-the-top price tag.

Bugatti Veyron Super Sport - $2.4 million

Not just the most expensive car in the world, the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport is also the proud owner of the title as fastest street legal car in the world. With a top speed of 267.8 miles per hour, the Veyron isn’t likely to be outpaced by its competitors in speed or price any time soon.

Aston Martin One-77 - $1.85 million

As its name suggests, only 77 examples of this ultra-high-end Aston Martin have been built. Its 220 mph top speed may pale in comparison to the Veyron Super Sport, but its 750 horsepower V12 engine is nothing to scoff at.

CelebritiesLies Told By Our Celebrities by chinkorieyahoo(op): 1:27pm On May 28, 2013
Yes they are celebs and that is what makes a little lie a big deal to people because they are in the public light and their life is really no longer their business but ‘everyone’s business’. Here are the top 5 celebs and the little lies they have told over time:

Tiwa savage

So many times Tiwa Savage and her manager, Tee Billz were found kissing an
+d caressing each other. Even the social media was rife with pictures suggesting some romantic dalliances between the duo. Yet the ‘kele kele’ crooner vehemently denied any relationship between the two of them insisting they had nothing beyond work relationship.

“I am not engaged and I am not dating Tee Billz. He is just my manager. The story that I am having an affair with him is mere rumor; we are not dating’. These were the exact words of Tiwa when she was confronted with questions about her romance with Tee Billz.

Having grudgingly swallowed this lie and denial, Nigerians were recently dumbfounded when videos of their engagement began trending online. Today, most people are not upset because they were lied to after the love birds recently got engaged, they are upset because from now on they will find it hard to believe the pretty star.

D Banj

In 2012, when the Koko master premiered his first reality show, Koko Mansion, he made series of promises which till today has remained unfulfilled.

His promise to feature the adjudged winner, which turned out to be Bolanle Okhiria, in the official video of “Fall in Love” is one of those unfulfilled promises. The Koko master was either lying to all or deliberately reneged on the promise as he ended up featuring Nollywood beauty, Genevieve Nnaji, in the video.

Tuface Idibia

It may have been that Tu Baba had one woman in mind when he wrote and sang African Queen, but for long he has been entangled in a love triangle involving not less than three African beauties; who have given him children.

He did find this situation funny, hence in his earlier interview with Entertainment Express, the international star stated thus: “the truth is that marriage is not in my plans. I will never marry. Let me put it bluntly. I don’t want to marry. I am angry.”

Today, as you read this, Tuface is not only married but had a large society wedding outside the country precisely in Dubai. So, the truth is, either Tu Baba lied about his decision never to marry or he simply had a rethink.

Funke Akindele

So many white lies has escaped the lips of our dear Funke Akindele a.k.a Jenifa, especially about her wedding to long time lover, Kehinde Adeola Oloyede popularly known as Kehinde Almaroof. She lied in print about the venue of the much talked about wedding.

While the ceremony was scheduled to hold at The Havens Events Centre, Oba Akinjobi Road, GRA, Ikeja, she circulated an invitation card which read, All Seasons Plaza, Lateef Jakande Road, Agidingbi, Ikeja, Lagos as the venue.

Apart from the media, she also misled other invitees, especially those from distant places clad in Aso Ebi who expressed their regrets and disappointment on finding out the truth. When confronted, Akindele, who spoke through her media aide, blatantly denied knowledge of the card with the fake address.

Yvonne Nelson
Her recent outburst calculated at tarnishing the image of Kukere crooner, Iyanya came as a rude shock to many people.

When, the going was good, the star actress not only savoured good moments of the romance with the “Ur Waist” master; she also denied having an affair with Iyanya. But when the relationship crashed and became an open secret, all she could do was to bow in shame. Suddenly the lie about not dating the artiste turned out to be the truth about her reported heartbreak.
