Nollywood star actress, Mercy Johnson, was born on the 28th of August, 1984 in Lagos. She started her primary school in Calabar, Cross River State; where she resided with her biological father. Mercy later relocated to Lagos State when her dad was transferred, then she continued her schooling at the Nigerian Navy Primary school. She is the 6th child from a large family of 7 children.

The celebrity went to Rivers State Secondary School for her secondary education in addition to Nigerian Navy Secondary School in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. She auditioned for a role in “The Maid” a movie that eventually launched her into stardom; right after her secondary education.

The cavernous and sexy actress continues to be one of Nigeria’s best rising female movie stars. Even though her excellent portrayal of her character in ‘The Maid’ had propelled her to the limelight, the gifted actress is fast to indicate that this wasn’t her first film though it may be the one which made her a household name.

During the shoot of the movie “The Maid”, Mercy Johnson had not obtained any sort of expert training in the Nigerian movie industry and had just finished her secondary school education. The actress has mostly being connected with emotionally charged roles.
