ONITSHA—Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State has ordered the state Ministry of Health to acquire at least 400 Personal Protective Equipment, PPE, to prevent health workers in the state from contacting the deadly Ebola virus. Commissioner for Health, Dr. Josephat Akabuike, who disclosed this in his office in Awka, said although no case of Ebola virus had been recorded in the state, the ministry had investigated the alarm being raised in some parts of the state about the virus and discovered that it was only a case of gastroenteritis that recently hit some rural communities in the state. Akabuike emphasised that at the moment, no fewer than 120 suspected cases of gastroenteritis, with five deaths, had so far been reported at Omor and Ifite Ogwari in Anyamelum local government area of the state. He added adding that the state government had instituted a rapid response team, saddled with the responsibility of responding to emergencies. Flanked by the Director of Public Health and Disease Control, Dr. Chukwudi Okoye and the Epideologist, Dr. Emma Okafor, Akabuike further disclosed that the state had concluded plans to train physicians on how to manage persons with suspected cases of Ebola virus. “In Anambra State, we have epidemiologists that monitor the environment and we are planning to purchase mobile ambulances and clinics to move them to areas of emphasis to enable us respond timely in case of emergencies. “We are also doing public enlightenment through the media, communities and churches to keep people at alert,” he said. Akabuike, who is a veteran gynaecologist, identified Ebola virus symptoms to include malaria, persistent diarrhea (gastroenteritis) and fever, weakness, waist pain and bleeding from nose, ears and eyes, adding that the virus could also be contacted through sexual intercourse. He said: “Ebola virus disease is incurable but symptomatic treatment can be given to an Ebola patient to rehabilitate the person and that is why Anambra State government has moved to acquire 400 personal protective equipment for health workers to protect them from contracting it.” - See more at: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/07/ebola-obiano-orders-400-ppe-anambra-health-workers/#sthash.w7JMkYLa.dpuf |

Chairman/CEO of Atlas Oranto Petroleum International Limited, Prince Engineer Arthur Eze has doled out the sum of $1m to support the on-going crackdown on criminals in the state and pledged the sum of one billion naira to support the governor’s agricultural programme. Making the donation in his palatial home of Ukpo in Dunukofia Kingdom of Anambra State when the governor, accompanied by his deputy, Dr. Nkem Okeke and the National Chairman of APGA, Sir Victor Umeh, paid him a courtesy call at the weekend, Prince Eze who is a famous philanthropist and a chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party, explained that the gesture was intended to encourage Governor Obiano’s efforts to make Anambra State a habitable and business-friendly environment for all. According to him, Governor Obiano had shown great wisdom in making security the priority of his administration as the fear of violent criminals in the state had denied it the benefits of rapid industrial growth arising from investment inflows that would have come from its entrepreneurial indigenes as well as foreign investors. http://www.elombah.com/index.php/reports/24611-arthur-eze-boosts-obiano-s-anti-crime-efforts-by-1m Itoroetti: o mehn!where dis guys de gather dis kind money?

The governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano, has received a donation of one million dollars to be invested in the State’s security and one billion Naira for the agriculture sector. The donation is coming barely 48 hours after the Court of Appeal upheld the election of Governor Obiano. After the court judgment, the governor begun to pay courtesy visits to well-meaning people of the state irrespective of party affiliation to support in building a better state. The donation was made in one of such visits to the political leader of Ukpo community, Prince Arthur Eze. The governor, who was in company of the deputy governor, Dr. Nkem Okeke, the national chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Victor Umeh and other dignitaries, urged the people of the state, both home and in the diaspora, to emulate the gesture and support his administration. At the home of the political leader of Ukpo in Dunukofia Local Government Area, Governor Obiano told Prince Arthur Eze that his administration’s agenda were hinged on agriculture, oil and gas, trade and commerce, and industrialisation with security as an enabler, which is an indispensable aspect. He called on him and his people to, regardless of their political leaning, help and support his administration towards building a better state for the future of the children of the state. In his response, the political leader of Ukpo community commended the effort of the governor and his political will in practically ridding the state of crime and criminality which had enveloped Onitsha and its environs in less than four months in office. For the national chairman of the APGA, Victor Umeh, it was a commendable stride which would go a long way in transforming the state while believing that the governor will make judicious use of the funds. http://www.channelstv.com/2014/07/29/obiano-gets-1-1bn-donation-to-boost-agric-and-security/ |
Some people are just seeking for attention thereby exposing their ignorance and illiteracy in a public forum such as this. I saw that clown but refused to reply him because he come across as an empty person pretending as if he knows anything! What we have in Anambra is a surveillance drone for intelligence gathering that aides the security agents to fight crime.. eaglechild: What then is your problem?
|
Ak nwanne keju ije? Pesin no dey see you eye again.. ![]() ak47mann: yes |
That is very correct! Obi brought us thus far and now Obiano is taking us to Dubai status.. Sincere9gerian: Stop the senseless comparison. Without a Peter Obi, there would not have been an Obiano. Peter Obi laid the very important FOUNDATION for Obiano to take Anambra to the NEXT LEVEL. |
Igbos have not had it so good! GEJ till Nigeria breaks up! The Islamic APC will naturally move this project to another region if they are the people in power. That was the same thing they did to Steel plant the Russians advised to be sited in Onitsha but they took it to Ajaokuta, till today that plant has never worked for one day after over 30yrs of installation. |
. |
Once Shekau is caught, the Islamic APC will die a natural death! |
Go and do your personal research so that you won't say we are lying to you. You already have internet, start now to browse and read up about surveillance drones! 234GT: I have been reading about drones ever since I first heard the word in 2009. I just want info about these drones tested by Mr. Governor! |
Still leading the pack since 1904! |
Nigeria’s formal agreement to work with the government of the United States (US) to increase access to and availability of electricity in Nigeria through the US-backed Power Africa initiative will bequeath to Anambra State, a brand new 1500 megawatts (MW) thermal power plant. The new thermal power project, to be built at the cost of $2.5 billion by international power firm, Global Edison Corporation, which is to be sited in Anambra State will expectedly take gas for its fuel from the gas rich eastern supply axis. Senior Vice President for Africa of Global Edison Corporation, Peter Nwangwu disclosed at a recent signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the federal government in Abuja power to be generated from the plant when completed will however be transmitted into Nigeria’s national grid, . The project which is coming on the framework of the US government backed Power Africa initiative that was launched last year in Cape Town, South Africa by US President, Barack Obama, will however be fully funded by Global Edison Corporation even though the company is part of beneficiaries of the initiative. It was activated alongside with Nigeria’s formal signing of a MoU with the US to formally activate the Power Africa initiative which hopes to double the number of people with access to power in Sub-Saharan Africa, starting with six countries including Nigeria. The MoU, which was signed by the Minister of Power, Prof. Chinedu Nebo on behalf of the federal government and US Ambassador to Nigeria, James Entwistle for the US government in Abuja now proffers a framework to coordinate the implementation and support of institutional reforms, privatisation and regulation of Nigeria’s power sector within the Power Africa initiative. Through Power Africa, African governments, private sector and other development partners such as the World Bank and African Development Bank (AfDB) are expected to improve their power generation by 10,000 megawatts (MW), by unlocking the substantial wind, solar, hydropower, natural gas, and geothermal resources in the region. The initiative was primed to further enhance energy security, decrease poverty and advance economic growth by building up clean, efficient electricity generation capacity as well as expanding mini-grid and off-grid solutions. While speaking on the MoU that was signed by his company and the ministry of power, Nwangwu stated that in addition to the 1500Mw gas power plant, the company will also build a 70MW solar panel manufacturing plant in the country. He said that: “There are two MoUs that were signed today with Global Edison, the first one is the one that we are building a 1500MW gas fuelled power station in Anambra. The second MoU is that which we are building a 70MW solar panel manufacturing plant in Nigeria and this will be the largest in West Africa.” “The significance of this is that we will be able to now power our rural areas and villages with reliable solar panels that will last for 30 to 50 years; imported panels have given solar energy bad names across the world but when properly designed and installed, they can be almost maintenance frees for 20 to 30 years and that is what we intend to achieve here,” Nwangwu added http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/anambra-gets-2-5bn-1500mw-power-plant-under-power-africa-initiative/184799/

Go to the internet and read up about surveillance drones. Don't bug people here, go and study for your own good! 234GT: Pls give us the features of the "drones", since it seems you designed them. How high and how fast can they fly, because I can't find these information on this thread. |
What we are saying is that this is the first time surveillance drones are being floated in Nigeria. Unmanned craft, what Amechi used was manned craft which are not drones but choppers.. kel4soft: The President is a hypocrite. He stopped Rivers high tech surveillance jet that will manned by Naval to monitor kidnappers and oil thieves in our creeks because Amaechi is in opposition. What you are celebrating here is nothing new. If Obiano cross over to the Opposition, you will see how he wont have a say in security. Security operatives will take orders from ministers instead from him. |
Lol..I am not nwaoguta..but I will reply u for calling my name. Firstly imo state is the least developed state in the SE, so nobody is envious of a poor and underdeveloped state where nothing works except.....lemme not mention it yet..lol Imo state under okoro has sunk to the unbearable level despite haven borrowed over 200B but still yet there is nothing on the ground to show for it..the roads are very bad, your people are jobless and trooping to my state for greener pasture to live and survive economically. We are not responsible for your backwardness and zero government presense both state and federal..lol It will be a victory for democracy for the lawmakers to impeach that aboki gov who is not even Igbo in the first place..lol Abagworo: Mr Chino, seems you're jobless. I think Imo lawmakers will collect your Oga's 100million and nothing will still happen as they will use it to develop Imo further. Y'all should keep dying of jealousy while Imo develops. |
You need to go back to school to complete elementary four. How can you use military drone type in a civil society? Are you saying that any drone that is not armed is a toy? This is a surveillance drone; it is only meant for intelligence gathering and not for military actions. When the intelligence are gathered the security operatives will not use it to work.. This is why people fail common exam. You need to read up the passage before making comments.. egift: I made a statement of fact. That these are Toy Drones (with camera, remote control and memory card). That it was not any category of Military or Law-Enforcement graded Drone. Instead of accepting, you went about insulting yourself and name-calling. |
Your mind was skewed from the beginning since this feat was not first achieved by any of the Islamic APC govs.. egift: Now that you have lost the discussion, am now on Free Internet. How pathetic of you. Perhaps I was wrong expecting decency from you. |
Do you know that the same thing you call toy has recorded its first result by tracking and helping in the rounding up of kidnappers somewhere in Orlu? It tracked the kidnapped with coordinates and located their hide out in orlu. Go to the 0page and read it up. egift: If I tell you half of my skill sets, your skin will crawl. So lets keep having fun. The idea is good, my only disagreement is that this toys will not pull it off. I will not be surprise if many Governors join the trend, just to blend |
Your ignorance is legendary! ![]() You are not making good use of the free internet you have. Browse it and be exposed egoat.. ![]() Almost every poster has educated you but you have refused to be teachable.. egift: For everyone that care to know, the images and video recorded by these toys are aboard the toy. So even if it sees you, if you pick up the drone, there is no evidence to find you. |
How did you come about toy in all these? Do you sell drones? How much do you think they sell these surveillance drones? Internet should have educated you more.. egift: I stated from the onset that the governor bought some toys and the liar-in-thug said it was a "stealth", now guess who was right? |
I did not curse but you are an illiterate for real. Where did you read that he used 100m to buy drones if not that you manufactured it? You need to get a life and get a job if not this hate will not only kill you but it will affect your family. The worst is that you are not even receiving a dime from the so called Islamic APC you are fighting for with all your blood.. ![]() Poverty is your problem.. ![]() egift: Curse your life all you want, I have been vindicated, I have been right all the while. Obiano bought children toys and siphoned N100,000,000. That is the fact. |
The guy is not only a stup1d hater but an illiterate. He has exposed how empty and unexposed he is. He is equally just making comments because mtn dashed him some megabytes and he is been rushing to be able to beat the deadline! ![]() Obi1kenobi: Which one is the stupid military drone vs "toy drone" nonsense? You can't employ an armed military drone in civil operations - not even in America. Else, they'll be using it to wipe out drug dealers, violent gangs etc. That would be illegal cos any lethal action would be extra-judicial killing. They're only employed in war zones to wipe out targets. What stewpid haters are calling "toy" drones is what you use in surveillance to assist security operatives. It's not supposed to directly take out threats. |
My friend you are an illiterate. Go and google this drone on the internet and confirm the price and let me know if a drone that goes for such amount is a toy! [s] egift: This is what I told you earlier and you were beating about the bush - The governor bought a toy. Oya show us the bold text above text - Stealth on a Toy[/s]
|
Egoat you are sounding so frustrated!lol |
Where did you read 100million? Some of you need to be chained with mad people.. ![]() oilykid: hmmm.100million naira drone |
Anambra drones are already tracking unscrupulous elements..
|
Now compare the above with what we deployed in Anambra! There is drone and there is drone.. ![]() It is surveillance drone with HD camera for intelligence gathering!
