Vice President Yemi Osinbajo turned 61 today March 8th. His wife earlier today celebrated him via her Instagram page, referring to him as her ‘best friend’.

His staff organised a little get together for him at the office in the presidential villa.

According to the renowned filmmaker, Lancelot Imaseun, should Black Panther have been made by a Nigeria, the movie would have failed.

Speaking in an exclusive chat with LIB, Imaseun said;

"If a Nigerian was the one that made Black Panther, it will fail because the Nigerian apathy will kill it. They will say it is another Spiderman. They will say it is nonsense. Nigerians will be the ones that will first spoil it”.


Meanwhile the filmaker also says he is in support of the statement made by Rita Dominic that "not all Nollywood movies should make it to the cinemas".

Rita had Yesterday via an InstaGram post lashed out at producers whose hype allegedly do not match the movies they make, asking them to do well to not give their movies more hype than is required,saying not all movies deserves to be shown at the cinemas .

In concurrence to the statement, Imasuen said no Nollywood movie has truly made its returns after it was taken to the cinema.

According to him, most of the movies that have been taken to the cinemas end up on the red carpet and on Instagram after the premiere. He however added that there is no criteria to determine which film should be taken to the cinema...

''In our closet we also talk about it that the cinemas should also be mindful of what they take from Nollywood because we are having a problem. Everybody is talking about Black Panther. Even Atiku is went to watch Black Panther but I have asked people when they come out of the cinemas, if they understand the foreign film they went to watch? Many people are just following trend. A lot of people do not understand the movie, they just went to watch because their friend went to watch.

It is not all kinds of film that should really make the cinemas. There are films that are deliberately made for home viewing, internet viewing, private view. Cinema films should have a lot of high pitch, entertainment. I am strongly with Rita Dominic that it is not all fims that should be taken to the cinemas. The cinema operators should also have an internal mechanism to identify the movies that should be taken to the cinemas. The question will now be what are the yardstick for measuring films that should cinematically viewed? We should leave the audience to determine the fims that should be cinematically viewed

99.9% of movies that get to the cinemas fail because they cannot make back their returns. They use hype, Instagram and social media razzmattazz to cover it up. Did you the advert of Black Panther on Nigerian tv? The actors are not doing meet and greet in the cinemas. Howcome, for three weeks now, the cinemas are being flooded? Who advertised the film. Several of Nollywood movies are failing because they cannot meet the small budgets that was used to make them. No Nigerian film has ever made movie in the cinemas. Most of the movies end up in the red carpet. People just go to the premiere to take selfies and that is the end.

What Rita said is not out of place. She did not put it well. There is no yardstick for measuring movies that should make the cinema''he said

Well said but even d taxify issue is her personal opinion after hearing from both sides.
She can't be judged over that cos while some pitched their tent wit the taxify driver,some supported the actress.

A few days days after watching popular movie ‘Black Panther’ and paying for everyone at the cinema to watch the movie, Nigerian politician and business man, Atiku Abubakar has after writing a review on the movie talked about getting Nigerians working in order to grow the movie industry.

According to the presidential aspirant, he’s excited by the growth of Nollywood but purchasing power to watch the films is a huge problem.
He also said that if the government puts the country together again by providing power and checking piracy, more people will be able to watch nollywood films and that would engender the growth of the industry.

Big Brother Naija housemate ,Teddy A has again torn hearts into shreds as he reteirates that whatever he does with Bam Bam is for the game and ends in the house.

Ifu Ennada during a chat with fellow housemates late last night asked Teddy that since he has a girlfriend outside and is with Bam Bam in the house,does this mean whenever he goes on tour,he would get a new girl?

Teddy in respons to Ifu said he would  take his girlfriend with himto the tour. He said he would tell her to take some time off work as he disclosed she works in real estate and makes cool money .

When further questioned he told that they had an agreement that whatever he does in the house stays in the house so on this pretext he is 100% with his girl and can’t leave her for Bam Bam.

When Tobi joked about spilling secrets on Saturday,Teddy who thought he might have spilled a little too much left the discussion to use the bathroom but ran to wake Bam Bam who was asleep at the time to tell her his own version of what happened .

He said Ifu brought up his girlfriend to spoil their game and he played along with them, concealing his exact statement.

Ace Nollywood actress Rita Dominic has fired shots at
Nollywood film makers alleging that they make movies
that are not worth the hype they give it.

Whilst insisting that not every movie deserves to be
shown in cinemas, she urged her colleagues to make sure
the hype they give to their movie is equal to the quality
of work the put out.

“ Let the quality of work match the
hype!! #nollywood#noteverymovieshouldbeincinemas” she wrote

Whilst some fans agreed with her, some other
fans think she’s equally guilty of the table she’s shaking
and chimed in her comment section to call her out,
asking the actress to also take her own advice .

Bakare has slammed the leaders of the nation tagging them as insensitive.

According to Bakare, he does not understand why Buhari attended the Ganduje/Ajimobi wedding in Kano despite having 110 schoolgirls missing.Bakare noted that the wedding came just 2 days after some people were killed in Rann and 2 weeks after the schoolgirls were abducted by the same Boko Haram the presidency claims they have a hold of now.

“Forgive my ill-mannerism, but I could not comprehend why a governor will celebrate the wedding of his daughter, and another governor of his son, on the front pages of newspapers, flashing it before our eyes, when other peoples’ daughters are in captivity,” Bakare said.

“If any of them had lost a daughter in that captivity, would they celebrate that way? I know the Bible says rejoice with them that rejoice, but I do not know what the president of Nigeria was doing there.

“And somebody came to say, let me explain to you, it is Islamic tradition, before this time, about January, they had agreed, that he (Buhari) will be the one to give the bride away and (Bola) Tinubu will be the one to pay the dowry, and present the son, and they agreed long before now.

“I looked at him and said the president of Nigeria wanted to come to my daughter’s wedding, and I said to him, sir, don’t come. That is beneath your office. Face the work of the state and keep serving.

“And 22 governors showed up to mark register, when 110 daughters of citizens of your nation were captured by Boko Haram that you said you have already technically defeated?

“It just shows how insensitive our leaders are. We have gotten to a stage that our president has become a king and a monarch. That his son who rode his pleasurable bike that almost claimed his life, will be returning from an overseas trip, where he had received special healthcare that Nigerians cannot afford, that it took a whole minister of state to go and welcome him, because he has no job.”
