I do know what baptism is and what it stands. Your knowledge about baptism might be OK to you, but not me. You can't say that I need more understanding and you don't need it, because your word is final! I shared my views with strong knowledge and believe in what I said. I will continue to seek for more guidance from the Paraclete. Your understanding and view should be shared only. Removing the mindset that ones view is the ultimatum. SHALOM femi4: |
Do understand text before commenting. I never said Christ performed any baptism. My point.... You must not know everything before you get baptised. NB: that we have different view do not mean that I am quoting the Bible wrongly. One can't know it all or have the complete say when it comes to the word. The way I type and see things might be different from the angle you see things. Let the spirit lead. femi4: |
femi4:What age or stage in life can one choose to be a believer? One can only speak on the knowledge he/she have. Do you know that many of Christ disciples in Mat 16:13-15 do not know/believe Christ and his mission even after they had been baptised! Except Peter.... But after Christ left, in Acts, the spirit upon confirmed the whole disciples. That they believed without a doubt about Christ. Infants baptism cannot be done without a guardian. Lydia in Acts 16 invited Paul to come into her household and baptised it's members. No exception. A child guardian will be in place for the baby to recieve baptism. The child will grow in faith then he/she can then choose to be confirmed in the faith. An adult can still receive Christ and deny him the next minute. My view |
Infant baptism is not wrong. Christ never gave a particular age for baptism. In Acts 16:14-15 And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul. 15 And when she was baptized, and her household, she besought us, saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there. And she constrained us.(Kjv) The parents, her guardians will stand for her. Half of what you believe and know we're impacted on you by your parents. If the child grows and feel not to belong to the body of Christ, fine. Even an adult after baptism can still go back to his old ways. Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it. In John 3:3-7 Christ said that you must be born again (water and spirit) before you can enter the kingdom. This is not attributed to adults only. The kingdom is for everyone old and young. alBHAGDADI: |
Both dont bring in equal money. It will be unfair for the guys to bring in more money and get same amount with the ladies. Bring in more money, you get more money. iamJ: |
