coogar: you are not wrong... van gaal's 4-1-4-1 is giving blind too much job to do in that middle. i hope carrick is back to form to partner blind in the next game. i have been very impressed with daley blind.....he's a quality player. We'll lack creativity by pairing Carrick and Blind. We should have Carrick/Herrera or Blind/Herrera since Herrera is the CM we've now. Fellaini has been decent but we pay the price of creativity. We need a CM in our midfield and Fellaini is not one. I think he should rather be used in big games or games where physicality is needed. |

elampiro: Even our regular full backs do leave a whole lot of space for CBs to cover for them. Is it the first time you have seen Smalling and Jones cover several times for full backs in a match?
When we conceded 5 goals against Leicester, you did not talk like this. Other small teams have been running easily at DDG. City with all the Milner, Toure, Aguero and Navas were always going to trouble us. The difference is that the team was counter attacked unlike Valencia's. I don't blame him though, he was decent as an attacker playing a RB position. You hardly see any attacker that could perform as he did. But better we find a back-up for Rafael. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chrisley024(m): 11:04pm On Nov 03, 2014 |
elampiro: I don't think so. Valencia did very well. He had little covering, Fellaini and Januzaj played far from him while Rooney helped Shaw throughout. The goal came from Val's position but it was Di Maria's error. Yeah, as a make shift RB? He did ok. But below average if he was a RB. His positioning is very poor. He either moves too forward or tucks in like he's a CB. He went too forward and left a huge space behind when that empty skull-Smalling got himself sent off. Not even as if it was a counter attack against us while in the goal, he tucked in and thereby couldn't even be at the edge to try and block the cross. Since we can't depend on Rafael due to injury, the earlier we find a backup RB the better. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chrisley024(m): 10:43pm On Nov 03, 2014 |
elampiro: Those Rooney long chase back/backtract. He really tried. Just saw a video where he caught up with Toure in a long energetic chase. Also that sweeping from Val's wing.
We need some of these speed and physicality. He could have used it instead getting red card the other time. Valencia at the right back was where we lost the game. I lost hope immediately I saw that from the line up. |

BinghiNya: Januzaj should be playing for united's u21 that is where he belongs, teams no longer fear united, LVG's results are not encouraging, it is a real shame to be happy drawing chelsea and city, teams we used to beat, even moyes drew chelsea at OT last season and united played better then, LVG isn't the messiah, it is gonna be a long long season for United. A team that spent that much should be winning with goals flowing in droves. Fergie won back then with kids, so LVG should spare us, he should be given the ultimatum to win the next 6 games in a row Or you replace him |

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chrisley024(m): 10:15am On Nov 03, 2014 |
elampiro: When English press wants to make you look bad, they make you look very bad. All those columnists that were lashing Moyes at this time last year should bury their heads in shame already. In fact, Moyes bashing started after only 5 games, especially when Everton were among the top 4 teams.
I can say Moyes was not allowed to concentrate and settle. Moyes never had a steady natural CM until January. Our midfielders and defenders were getting injured. In comparison, Gaal's injury problem is less severe than what Moyes faced. Half of Gaal's team can be injured and would still be able to line up a dreaded first 11.
I am not suggesting Moyes is a greater coach or at par with Gal, but there was high level of immaturity every where in frustrating him. Suggest articles like how he rotated his team (they forgot the many injuries), how he did not play Zaha, how he failed to play Anderson, how did not Chicharito, why he played Jones in midfield (even though our CMs were injured and Jones hardly lost games in their absence)
However, I think Moyes would have done far better if he were to lay hands on someone like Blind; a player who tackles and use the ball too. Same with Herrera. Although we will still need a player like Vidal. Let me see where Yaya Toure will pass again. With Moyes we'd have been heading nowhere; no world class player wanted to join him, his tactics were abysmal and players lost faith in him which our ex-players confirmed and was evident on the pitch. |

SIRcumalot: This is why am hoping this Dortmund current form continue maybe we can get a deal on Hummels,Subotic and Marco Reus. Hummels has been on sick bed too. With enough money, we can lure Godin away from A.Madrid. Exactly the type of defender we need. A leader and a motivator at the back. Every top club has one like Terry, Kompany, etc. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chrisley024(m): 9:18am On Nov 03, 2014 |
Bimfo: Stay tight Seriously, He is just 17 or so?? He did brilliantly well yesteday.. He couldnt do anything about that goal.. Basic defending requires you stay tight to a striker and a lil bit step ahead of him. Just like when Blackett gave the ball immediately to Swansea after a foul. Well, that's what you get from inexperience and we'll keep paying for it until we get experienced CBs. You may try inexperienced players in attacking position but in defence the cost is expensive. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chrisley024(m): 9:01am On Nov 03, 2014 |
dopeJemi: I don't think McNair had come when the time aguero scored He was with Aguero and failed to stay tight to him. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chrisley024(m): 8:53am On Nov 03, 2014 |
All these kids in our defence won't help cos they'll keep making silly errors that cost us: Blackett against Swansea and Leicester, Jones against W'Brom, Smalling against City, and McNair also against Aguero(maybe not much but still cost us).
We need to free 2-3 defenders and get 2 experienced CBs to save the situation. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chrisley024(m): 7:17pm On Nov 02, 2014 |
elampiro: Truly we played well. It is just that our position in the league doesn't make us take these results.
The play is a big improvement on our recent games with City. Possession is 51.5 to 48.5. If we were 3rd on the league we could have taken this result with so much proud considering we played with 10 men. Don't think we're. Why do start playing well only when we become 1 goal down |

codedguy1: I swear that guy deserves to start every game. Especially when supposedly experienced players like smallings and Jones will always have brain farts at very unnecessary situations.
Smalling red, Rojo, Evans and jones injured!
Rooney playing diagonal balls like a pvssy!
RVP popping up here and there like he is playing hide and seek.
Valencia has no brain, he just compensates with his work rate.
Januzaj still not there.
Fellaini who I never gave a chance in a United shirt is even trying.
Big ups to Rojo, De gea wilson, Carrick, Blind.
Shaw has been average, di Maria eSpecially has been disappointing.
I know they were a man down, but sometimes the decision they make when on the ball have been disappointing, the attackers and midfielders in particular. Valencia and Shaw were decent. These are new players so it will take time to understand each. Rooney is a fool. Left space infront of him and moved to where City players are and can't even shoot. His partnership with RvP is obvious can't work and should be discontinued. |

Dadehmola: Exactly, but the thought of aguero running at rojo/Smalling is giving me nightmares. The best way i think is to isolate and deny him the ball. Blind should mind his defensive duty more and help them against him. |
