Tamison:Like I'm tired. I rushed to fill in my form so I could book sharply but here we are. 72 hours is a lot o haba |
Send an email to the British council, quote your candidate/reference number and tell them you haven't seen your results. They will follow up from their end. Sweetmia37: |
Sadly no. Are you using that format of Year|CountryCode|CandidateNo.|FamilyName|First Name Initial|CentreCode|G or A (for general or Academic) to get your TRF number? I don't know how accurate it is sha. I think I will patiently wait for my results to be sent. abnot: |
Finally saw my results on Wednesday, however the battle for the TRF now begins. It honestly shouldn't take long since they are paying for a courier to send it? We continue to observe sha. I will email endlessly until I can hold the result in my hands. abnot: |
ituajude:Lol No need to be scared - the delays are just annoying. I haven't received anything yet, either on portal or TRF. |
ituajude:Are you minding those jokers? I don't know if you wrote your test with BC, but I had my test on the 25th of September (CBT) and my results are not out either, meanwhile results are supposed to come out 3-5 days after the test! I also got an email notification that my results were ready LAST WEEK Wednesday, only to log in and see nothing. I have called (twice), emailed (no answer), messaged BC on Twitter (they started asking questions then abandoned the chat). The unprofessionalism of these guys needs to be tabled someday. I also heard it's a battle to receive your TRF, it could actually take a month or more to receive it. |
Donmatlock:Have you tried to log into your Ustraveldocs profile? The option to reschedule should be there. |
Malevonent:I did, took an employment letter, bank statement and payslips. Although these docs were never checked, it’s better to be safe than sorry. I advise you go with the normal docs (just in case). All the best ![]() |
LadyGuinivere:I didn’t. In fact I completed the DS160 for Dropbox back in April. A real journey |
LadyGuinivere:Me ![]() I did Dropbox back in June and I got 221G... fastforward to September when I was able to get my appointment. Interview seemed long in my mind but I got it in the end. I was asked what I was going to do and I said a holiday. Hope this helps. |

Ok I'll bite. 80k. Can you deliver today? ![]() |
Hello all, silent reader here, decided to do my bit and drop my transcript I had been very nervous before this interview ‘cos of the many fantastic things I heard about the US consulate e.g it is not by where you have travelled to, or the rumour that single people don’t usually get visas, or should I mention how you read some transcripts and you wonder how on earth they got denied? Hmm. Anyway. I applied with my mum. Our appointment was for 9am so naturally we got there at 7.15 (LOL). Dressed business casual. Went armed with our DS160 confirmation forms, I took my last 3 months statements and a letter from my employer. Mum took her bank statements. We got in and went through the various screenings . Eventually, we got to the interview window at about 9.15AM. Q: What’s the relationship between you and her (looks at me and mum) A: She’s my mum Mum: She’s my daughter LOL ( Both answers came out at the same time!) Q: Where are you going in the US A: New York Q: Do you know anyone in New York A: No, but we’ve booked a hotel. My mum and I like to go to places together and we went to France last year (I don’t know where that answer (though true) came from, I blame the millions of transcripts I read on nairaland - LOL) Q: Where do you work A: I work at …… Q: What do you do there A: Well basically we blah blah blah blah blah (Interviewer cuts in - I mean, what’s your position) A: Oh! I’m a Manager Q: (To Mum): What do you do? Mum: Well I’m retired now but I own my own business blah blah blah blah (At this point I can’t really remember what she asked my mum about the business but my mum answered confidently) Q: (To Mum): Are you married A: No, I’m a widow Q: (To Me) How much do you earn A: I answered down to the last naira! Q: How long have you been working for…. A: 4 years. Then this is where I got questions I did not expect: Q: Where did you go to school? A: Do you mean university? In the UK Q: What did you Study and what university A: I studied blah at Masters level and blah at Undergrad Q: Have you travelled before (to mum) A: Yes to Germany, Rome in the past, but I go to the UK a lot Q: Why did you go to all these places (to mum) A: For vacations Q: Have you travelled before (to me): A: Yes, to the UK and France Q: How old are you (to me): A: Answered accordingly Interviewer: OK, your visas have been approved, collect your visas here (hands over white paper with circled address) in 3 days Woo-Hoo! Meanwhile common misconceptions 1. If you successfully uploaded your picture on the DS160 you do not, I REPEAT, you do NOT need to take any passport photographs there. If you doubt me, take some but please do not patronise those useless touts at the beginning of the street. Find a studio to take them. I wasted 4k today for pictures I will never use! 2. So many people went holding only their folders (you are actually allowed a bag, just don’t let it be too big and make sure all electronic devices and risky items are removed 3. Photocopy of passport data page is not necessary 4. As much as you can, IGNORE THOSE TOUTS AT THE BEGINNING OF THE STREET 5. All you really need is your DS-160 confirmation, GTBank Visa receipt and appointment confirmation, but you may carry other supporting documents. You live and you learn. Thank you all for your contributions, helped a lot on what to expect. |
Decided to put this on here in case it helps someone (Long time Nairaland Lurker) I applied for a 10-year visiting visa on the 6th of April. Before then I had a 5-year visa that expired in December 2015 I wrote a cover letter, talked about my travel history and why I wanted a long-term visa etc. After I submitted my application I spotted one error (I listed my mum’s birth year wrong) So silly - was doing my best not to panic when spotted it after I submitted. Also, I mistakenly didn't sign the form after printing it out and the TLS people don't check so it just went in the folder like that! The question of whether I had been rejected a visa was tricky for me: In the past I had applied for a visa that was refused, I appealed and won. To me technically that means since my visa was ultimately granted after appeal, I wasn’t “refused.” So I ticked “NO” and explained why I ticked “NO” in the additional information section. (GUYS THAT SECTION IS YOUR FRIEND) For the medical treatment question, I ticked No at first but I remembered that I once had a dental extraction (which I paid for). I almost forgot the name of the clinic but Google really helped me! I couldn’t remember the exact date (almost 8 years ago since I did that) so I put a rough “guesstimate” Again explained in the additional section that it was such a long time ago and I couldn’t remember the exact date. Finally for friends + family section: I listed 2 friends and my cousin. In the additional information section, I explained that I have several friends in the UK but I couldn’t include 30+ people etc. Timeline: 6th April: Submitted Application at TLS Ikeja 6th April: Received message that TLS had passed it on to UKVI 7th April: Received email that UKVI was now with my application 14th April: Received notification that a decision had been made 15th April: Collected Passport with 10-year visa stamp (Didn’t know they returned all documents in the package! When I felt the full envelope I was scared o!) I hope this helps someone especially on the point “Have you ever been refused” and you are someone that won a visa appeal after refusal. Trust me I trawled through hundreds of pages on this point and found no guidance. Thankful I had a good result! Justwise and co keep up the good work. *Back to lurking mode* ![]() |
Dear VO, I hope you can help, as this has been causing me some mental anguish. I have two half-brothers in the US - I will emphasise that we are NOT CLOSE. Complex family structure, my parents both had first marriages etc etc they were both grown up by the time I came along. Perhaps the correct term is that we're "estranged." I don't have their addresses - we haven't spoken in years. Now on the DS-160 form, it asks if I have a relative in the US, and I know I must disclose. Will it sound odd to say I have half-brothers but I don't know where they live/we are not close in the interview? It's the honest truth. Also, will it be strange to disclose siblings and not have said sibling as the US point of contact? I plan to go on a vacation and I have no intention of visiting them. Thanks a lot |

Hi Fogman, I asked a question on this thread before but I guess the Nairaland data loss wiped everything off. I would like to install aux on a 2007 Corolla BUT I want to keep my factory stereo. Can you install this device (http://enfigcarstereo.com/TOY_AUX_DMX_V2.html)? Thanks |

Hi, I have a MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2009) with a faulty keyboard. I have to use an external keyboard to do any typing. I would like the entire keyboard/topcase replaced.... Can you tell me how much this would cost and if you have the parts? |
How is it only coming out 2 days ago an excuse? ![]() Isn't the meaning of "Coming out" supposed to mean on a particular day in the year You can buy at your local market You can buy it on Itunes/amazon etc - On that same DAY? Is that not what Shank did? On March 13th abi when I went on itunes/amazon etc and there it was!!! D'Banj released the entertainer almost a year ago And it is not on many online websites As they are all "Mo Hits" crew I'm sure Wandes album will go that same route Even MI I sent him a message asking, "Why is your album not on itunes?" Their loss oh - their loss This is the only thing that pisses me off about Naija music now - Ignorance is not an excuse sha! Nobody should condemn me when I say someone should upload album for me It is obviously not affecting their sales, Tschewwwww |

Ehnnnn?I don look amazon, itunes, truspot, fusion green etcetera No sign of any new album If I beg someone to upload the album Some whiners will begin to talk nonsense about supporting the artist Are they supporting themselves ![]() When are these people going to learn about online media?
