President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday affirmed that Nigerians have lost the values for hard work, respect for their elders, truthfulness, honesty, contentment, humility, patience and all moral virtues.
The president blamed cultism, armed robbery, murder, kidnapping and other social vices in the country on its citizens.
Jonathan, who was represented by the Minister of Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Ms. Ama Pepple, made this known at the official flag-off of National Christian Campaign on Social Transformation, tagged: Be The Change You Want To See, organised by the Christian Association of Nigeria,CAN, in Abuja.
According to Jonathan, no doubt, Nigerians have lost their moral values and principles and that so much have gone wrong in family lives, schools, churches and the society in general. He added that Nigerians have lost the values for hard work, respect for their elders, truthfulness, honesty, contentment, humility, patience and all moral virtues.
“Our priorities are misplaced. We have trained our children to insult elders, parents fight teachers who discipline their children and so we have been reproducing badly behaved children, who come under peers influences. The church itself has not always done what it should do, some of the teachings in some of our churches have turned the Bible upside down, the Bible is meant to teach us that which is right and help us to do righteous things.” He added.

Secretary To Edo State Government Exposed In A Grand Bank Scam

In a circular released by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Professor Julius Omozuanvbo Ihonvbere the incumbent Secretary to the Edo State government and an Edo North ACN Senatorial aspirant was listed among other prominent Nigerians that had conned a Bank.
Reliable information available to a local newspaper has it that professor Julius Ihonvbere with his Indian associates acting under a company Global infrastructure Ltd located on plot 999F,Odell street, Victoria Island, Lagos had received a bank loan of N6.9 billion to purchase and turn around grounded Ajaokuta still mill.
The project was not executed and the loan was recalled by the bank. It is gathered that professor Ihonvbere could not account for N3.12 billion of the said loan.
It is further gathered that Professor Julius Ihonvbere has been sanctioned from receiving any loans from all Commercial Banks in Nigeria by the Central Bank.
Also the case is now in a federal high court.
This revelation has raised eye brows in many quarters on how a top public official like professor Ihonvbere could be involved in such a grand scam.
It is also worrisome that professor Julius Ihonvbere aspires to occupy Edo north Senatorial Seat in the next federal election.
Moral issues now trail this revelation questioning if persons of professor Ihonvbere degenerate personality should have public trust.
Born in June 1956, Prof Ihonvbere holds a PhD in Political Economy from the University of Toronto. A Professor of Political Science, former Special Adviser on Policy Monitoring as well as Speech Writer to former President Olusegun Obasanjo. He fled into political exile in 1990 after he was implicated in the coup against General Badamasi Babangida. He holds a national honor of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON).

Are you saying that, its fair? When has deputy Gov become EDSIEC staff to carry electoral materials in his own vehicle? I watched these clips myself, including Documentary on Gov Oshiomhole's age falsification.

To be fair, Edo LG election was a script written by Oshomhole and gang. There was no election and results were announced. He was booed even in his own local Government. I watched it during evening news.

What he said is very correct I watched it on tv too. Can somebody tell me what the Gov. went to do at Inec offic in his home town? Obviously he went to influence the vote right? That's why he was chased by his own people, they were chanting "Osho Ole, Ole!" Police started shooting people.

Also Deputy Gov was interview and he said I quote "My bus was carrying electoral materials in my bus with my men to the polling unit, and they went to destroy it, he has nail his coffin" that means somebody he knows very well destroyed his bus carrying electoral material. My question is, Is it fair for Dep Gov to carry electoral materials in his own vehicle? Edo people are wiser now that they can no longer be fooled by Oshomhole.

Now as we speak, ITV has been banned from entering EDSIEC offices and covering the postponed elections. Will somebody call that fairness?

It was shown on ITV where the deputy Gov stated in his own words "My bus carrying electoral materials to polling unit with my own men" When did Edo State Electoral Commission EDSIEC employ the deputy Gov to carry electoral materials? Let us not run away from the truth. This election is FRAUD!

Oshomhole is only creating problems for himself. We are watching
