Twenty-seven members of Zimbabwe’s MDC opposition appeared in court Monday on violence charges after post-election protests that triggered a security crackdown.

URGENT intervention is required if 31- year-old Chinonso Judith Ericson is to walk again. Both her legs and spinal cord were crushed in a road accident which almost claimed her life in January 2008.


Chinonso was involved in an auto crash in Abeokuta while returning to Lagos from the University of Port Harcourt, UNIPORT, Rivers State.

At the time, she was a final-year student of Foreign Languages but like a bad dream, her hopes of graduating crashed.

A 23-year-old housewife, Damilola Ayeni, who was said to have stabbed the 36-year-old husband in the chest, has been arrested by the Lagos State Police command.


Damilola Ayeni who got married to her husband two years ago, a union that produced two children, stabbed her husband, Olumide, to death following a disagreement on Friday at their house on Bamgbose Street, Lagos Island.
