elyte89: Sincerely I still can’t wrap my head around that panic decision of tuchel cos prior to that sub, d game was balanced and England 🏴 were playing well ,so why change a formation dt is working suddenly …Abi dis is also part of FIFA’s conspiracy 🤔🤔🤔 you forgot that Argentina nearly equalised through simeone immediately after Gordon's goal if not for spence's interception. Argentina was the better team. Finito. |

TheSuperNerd: Tuchel is proof that even some of the best and elite football tacticians can make really foolish decisions. England had no business losing that semifinals if they kept on attacking Argentina especially after going 1 up. His decision to bring 3 defenders in as his 1st 3 changes was diabolically silly and he paid the price. Kudos to Argentina for taking advantage of such tactical stupidity. They deserved to be in the final over a team that decided to go haram. very easy to criticize the man. There was nothing special tuchel would have done. Immediately England scored , you could see the hunger from the Argentine players. |

TheSuperNerd: While Tanzania beat China 2-0. China had beaten Australia 3-0 in the first game. We meet China next... Yikes!
The Tanzanians are featuring their stars from the U17 Afcon like Issa Chole (2026 U17 Afcon MVP) and co (Issa Scored against is our boys in the 1st game we lost 3-2)
I noticed a pattern from the first and 2nd games.
The U15/U16 lads we are parading at this China Invitational have gone down 2-0 twice at Halftime.
Vs Tanzania U17s, we were down 2-0 at HT. Final score was 3-2 loss.
Vs Australia U17s, we were down again 2-0 at HT. Final score was 4-2 loss.
The U15 lads seem to grow much later into the game and by the time they are in their right rhythms, the game is lost.
Will see what the China game brings.
Anyway, a fair competitive outing for Coach Eboboritse and the lads. Shows him the amount of work needed and the lads to cut and roles to upgrade. fantastic point . We should allow this coach to build. We just like quick fix. Give him time. The boys he took there are real U17. I heard most of the goals conceded by our lads were due to bully or height. They will come good. I believe. |

TheSuperNerd: Damn... if anyone is foolish enough to put 1million on SA not advancing, then wow... good luck to that foolishness. 🤣🤣🤣
Betting should never done with sentiments. Never.
With that said... Anyone hatewatching my Maroc dey try. They are brave comrades. Just accept wetin u see. Lol
As for hatewatching SA, a new battleline is drawn.... Canada will do the Lord's work.😁😁🤝🏿🤝🏿 (I hope😂) anyway they have really tried. I doubt they will win Canada But I have to give it to Hugo broos for his tactical master class. I still believe if not for his defensive setup against mexico, south africa would have won or drawn that game. Quite painful for Nigeria. Imagine being in this group and meeting canada |

Kog45: Hope you remember how Mikel made his debut, how Balogun got his debut,Iwobi debut,Iheanacho debut, Awoniyi first invitation,Semi Ajayi first call up,Ekong debut, hope you remember how Lookman and Bassey got their first invitation, make I no forget rookies like Enyyeama,Ejide and Aiyenigba, all these under Nigerian coach. you are very correct. But these players were doing very good and well known by Nigerians. I think the biggest problem we have now is that we are no longer churning out players from u17,u20 and u23 so it is harder for Chelle to actually scout players, reason I was basing my argument on players profile. How many Nigerian coach will be patient enough to scout players from second division? They will rather rotate the old ones unless a miracle player pops up from somewhere. |

jihday: this is a lie, how old was Iheanacho when Keshi gave him his first cap? The problem is if it was a Nigerian coach that invited Bewane and Akpan you people will insinuate that money have changed hands loool , watch my words," looking at their profile" Iheanacho was already a household name in Nigeria and mancity academy before keshi gave him his call. Where is the lie 😂😂😂? A player of iheanacho's profile will definitely get an invite from any Nigerian coach. Afterall someone still took opabumni and akuegbu to world cup. But those players were already a household name. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Chuks4041: 2:48am On Jun 14 |
SymphonyRad: Chelle had better start getting the likes of Femi Azeez, Zadok and Suleiman Sani ready for first team football starting from the next AFCON, after that Ayyoud Bouaddi Michelin performance at 18, the argument that a player is too young to take a risk on should be tagged as redundant...if you're good enough, you're old enough (footballistically speaking btw). I think Chelle is already doing that. A typical Nigerian coach can never give bewene and akpan their debut looking at their profile. |

EElopa: I was watching Bouaddi, and I was having a football orgasm. What a player. As mentioned before, to have an elite-level national team, you have to have technically ball-playing players in every position. The decline of the Super Eagles started when non-ball-playing players like Troost-Ekong, Omurue, Ajayi, Balogun, and Frank Onyeka started playing paramount roles in the Super Eagles.
I was watching the USA '94 Super Eagles games at the World Cup, and every single player on that team was so comfortable and technical on the ball. This is why I said the likes of Semi Ajayi and Sanusi need to be thanked and retired from the national team if we are really serious about competing with the big boys.
Morocco is a really good team, and they can really go far in this tournament. The people clamoring for all these junk NPFL players and non-technical ball-playing players don't really wish well for the Super Eagles to perhaps, in their lifetime, be in the semi-finals or finals of a World Cup. . Well said. Also we should get our leadership right. It takes a lot to get such a player from france at that age(18). It shows that the morroccan FA must have shown that boy a vision that made him choose them. We need our NFF to be free from corruption. How many good stadiums do we even have in Nigeria? . Switch the roles and that boy can never play for Nigeria. It tells you a lot. |

EElopa: How can anybody who watches ball blame the goalkeeper for that goal? some of you guys are really got to be kidding me. Some of you guys have an agenda towards this boy, and it is really sickening. Absolutely sickening and disgusting. The Portuguese goalkeeper currently rated among the top 10 goalkeepers in the world conceded a goal that if Okoye had conceded, the whole Naija Okoye hater twitter would have been on fire. . You said it all. Okoye is our number one. He has been massive in this match |

TheSuperNerd: Akpan's first senior game was only over a week ago for Genk. He has struggled defensively for the most parts vs Portugal's frontline today but he is good on the ball and this is a tough game to make your 1st cap.
Bewene also struggled defensively in the first half vs Poland but picked up in the second half.
Cut Akpan some slack. Chelle giving him the nod over Bewene (who I felt should have started) shows he has something. and the guy has speed. Look at that recovery that was later ruled off side |

Okoye shouldn't whatsoever be blamed for that shot. That was a knuckleball shot .it literally changed direction in the air. If you watched well, the guy already stepped to the right but the speed of the ball as it changed direction could not allow him to recover |

lbrichman2: Cut Osimhen some slack Chief If he's absent because of transfer issues, then best believe there are serious offers on the table Remember Lookman too would be absent, and no specific reason was given..
Well, Chelle has finally gotten the team to score goals in Osimhen's absence.. I personally would have loved to see him against Poland and Portugal ( I hope he comes for the Portugal game), but if he doesn't show, nothing spoil We go out there and play our game..
Lookman too, would have loved to see him.. If na another coach, I may have panicked a bit, but with Chelle, rest of mind full ground..
Other strikers should grab this opportunity and step up to the plate And thank God, we have Femi Azeez to play that Lookman's role..
We move!! honestly , the guy needs a competitor in our squad. By the time we find that person, you will see them hustling to play. We just need someone that can press in that front. |
