bluepreek: They should keep on building lies......At least every sensible man out there knows masturbation is far better and safer than raping someone's daughter all in the name of trying to cure konji
And you can't live without konji ruling your life?
vonnelixir: This is all lie... How can it cause BP and erectile dysfunction... Dr should do more research cuz the last time I checked, it has advantage more than disadvantage. Though I m against being addicted to it
EnglandAmaka: You know when someone d!es and everybody is crying and mourning but the only person who doesn't feel a thing is the person who has d!ed. Same thing applies when you re a yahoo boy. Bunch of stup!d boys that deserve nothing but death by hanging
Yet, women are their biggest inspiration and their major victims. Interesting really.
BlueStripper: Another white elephant project. Always quick to invest in uncertain projects with unrealistic timeframes.
If you ask, what's the way forward? "LETS FORM A COMMITTEE" will be their answer.
"Agenda 2063 is a 50 year Africa’s blueprint and master plan for transforming the continent into the global powerhouse of the future"
RUBBISH! Africa can never be a global powerhouse considering our current romance with western imperialist
I agree.
A slave can never be free untill he leaves the cage of his master.
Africa is economically, politically and socially enslaved.
Nothing good will happen here till we pull down all western institutions, systems, and influences while rebuilding ours to fit with our heritage, systems and peculiar challenges.
Emmanuel900: Rituals happen in the East everyday, just because it is not on nairaland doesn't mean it isn't happening.
Don't pretend that there are not even places in the east where they still butcher and cannnibalize human being.
If Speaking English is a sign of being educated to you guys in the East, then Japan, China, Norway, Russia, even Isreal and most of the world where their local language reign supreme must all be uneducated lol Go to the street of Japan or China and call them uneducated for not being able to speak English. You guys are really dull.
Yoruba are just proud and love their language generally, even Yoruba in London won't stop speaking Yoruba in London even after graduating from prestigious institutions in London, we are not suffering from inferiority complex like you guys that see English language like a superior language, we will keep speaking Yoruba while dominating all major sectors in Nigeria.
Top ranked scientists in Nigeria - Yoruba Best Institutions in Nigeria - Yoruba Banking - Yoruba Entertainment - Yoruba Industry -Yoruba etc
You are delusional if you think Yoruba are not the most educated in this country, there's no sector you won't see Yoruba flogging you.
You're so so delusional thinking that producing individuals who excel in an endeavor equals the education level of an ethnic group.
The most read researcher in Nigeria is Dr. Aniebet Ntui, yet, her ethnic group ranks low on the education scale.
Your logic is so childish because it's like saying that the Hausa ethnic group is the richest in Nigeria simply because the richest man in Africa is Hausa.
Lagos is the economic capital of Nigeria (worth more than some regions and even African countriescombined), therefore, it's simply logical that Lagos state (the melting pot of best minds & hustlers across Nigeria) will be the centre of excellence.
There's no other Southwestern state you could cite in your examples of "best bank," "entertainment," and "industry."
Ondo and Ogun states have growing GDPs, but they're poorer than Anambra, Imo, Akwa Ibom and Rivers States.
Ogun is No 8 on Nigeria's top 10 economies in 2024.
So, not only is your report misleading but it's also terribly flawed and biased....illogical, even.
Bro, this may be sign of low education mixed with ethnic bigotry which makes it impossible to reason properly.
By the way, rituals happen everywhere in Nigeria, but several reports have proven over the years that it's more prevalent in the southwest, especially Ogun state environs.
sreamsense: Twitter statistics! Most educated that can't produce just one scientist for africa. None of their universities can be found among five best in Nigeria talkless of Africa. These people like chest beatig and self-praise. They like pushing false narrative too much.
You just proved the statistics right.
You clearly saw that Statisense published the statistics on Twitter.
Twitter is a social media platform; it doesn't publish statistics. Every global organization, like Statisense, use Twitter as a medium to publish their reports.
But uneducated Ronu minds can't understand that, so I'm not surprised at the mumuness in that comment.
I'm sure if World Health Organization (WHO) publishes any health report on Twitter, you'll call it "Twitter health report."
You're irredeemably illiterate.
I chose to take the pain to explain it to you like a Nursery school student, but I don't think you can comprehend still.
PS: Google top 5 universities in Nigeria first before you expose your willful ignorance. Also note that institutions in non-Igbo regions of Nigeria usually have up to 50% of their population as southeasterners.
Jonah9891: Many people often confuse the terms "marketing" and "sales," using them interchangeably, but these two words actually refer to different things. While both are important in a business, they have distinct roles, and understanding the difference is key to achieving the right results.
Marketing is all about creating awareness and attracting people to a product or service. It's the process of telling people about what you offer, why it's important, and how it can solve their problems. Marketing happens before any direct contact is made with a customer. It includes things like advertising, social media posts, flyers, and websites. The goal is to get people interested enough to know more about your product.
On the other hand, sales is the actual process of convincing someone to buy the product. After people have shown interest through marketing efforts, sales involve speaking directly to potential customers, answering their questions, handling objections, and ultimately persuading them to make a purchase. Sales happen when a person is ready to buy but needs a little push or more information to close the deal.
Let's use this analogy to set the stage in a practical world. Imagine you own a small bakery that sells delicious cakes. Marketing would involve you creating posters, sharing mouth-watering pictures of your cakes on Instagram, and offering free samples at a local event. This gets people curious and interested in your cakes. They might visit your shop or send you a message because they’ve seen what you offer and like how it looks.
Sales, however, would happen when someone walks into your bakery and starts asking questions. They might want to know the price, ingredients, or if you can customize a cake for them. You or your staff would then use your skills to convince them that buying your cake is the best decision, explaining how good it tastes or offering them a small discount to encourage them to make the purchase.
In short, marketing brings people to your shop, and sales is what makes them buy something. Both are important but should not be confused. If a business focuses only on sales without good marketing, they may not have enough customers to talk to. Similarly, great marketing without proper sales strategies may attract people, but they might leave without buying anything. Both have to work together, but they are not the same thing.

Not If other lawyers create more awareness about their services and prove to the audience (potential clients) that they're equally well trained and efficient in service delivery.
Most of them just sit at home and wait for referrals (which is a recipe for poverty).
In developed countries, lawyers are among the highest paid professionals in the world. In fact, many lawyers in Euro-America live the affluent lifestyle.
Is that obtainable in Nigeria though?
Nope!
Okay...let me backtrack a little...
There are quite a few lawyers who are paid over ₦1 million monthly in Nigeria. But that's a tiny small minority. Less than 5 percent of the total lawyer population.
If you're a lawyer reading this, I dare say you don't earn as much.
There are over 197,000 lawyers in this country, and majority earn very low income regardless of whether they run a law firm or work in one.
Many lawyers working in law firms are paid ₦50,000 or less as monthly salary. Some earn around ₦150,000 (which also isn’t enough for today's economy).
Even worse....those with 1 year post call experience are barely paid anything at all.
The question is......
Why?!
Why do some lawyers earn more than others?
Why are most lawyers struggling in Nigeria?
In the next few paragraphs and subheads, I'll give you the answer.
All the reasons are interconnected; therefore, each reason given here will lead into the next. Let's begin!
1. Zero Business Skills:
I have seen a consistent pattern among professionals and sportsmen; they have high skills to deliver in their area of expertise but zero skills in managing the business of their expertise.
Let me make it clearer for you...
Most lawyers are highly skilled in legal services, but have zero skills in the business of law.
Sadly, you must be able to understand how to turn your legal skills into proper business without breaking the rules of professional conduct (if you want to succeed).
I know they don't teach you business in law school, but it’s the only skill that makes a big difference between a wealthy lawyer and a poverty-stricken one.
Throughout this post, I'll show you more ways that this problem affects you, but one area where it bites hard is in the area of negotiation.
That leads us to the second problem...
2. Zero Negotiation Skills:
In business, negotiation is the difference between a large successful company and a small struggling one.
It is the difference between iPhone and Itel. It is the difference between Shoprite and Ariaria.
Apart from other factors, which I'll mention as you read on, the difference in these businesses is in their ability to convince the customers (or clients) that their services are of higher quality, faster to deliver, more professional, and therefore, worth more money than the competition.
This problem manifests for lawyers frequently when charging for their services.
3. Charging Low Fees: Few minutes ago, I read a post where a lawyer was lamenting how a client came for a Deed of Assignment to be done for him, but he was adamant to pay ₦25,000 for the deed to a property worth ₦8 million.
This lawyer insisted he will charge 5 percent but the customer proved to him that another lawyer had done it for him at ₦25,000 for a property worth more.
Most lawyers charge low fees because it's the natural thing to do; even for entrepreneurs. We believe that when we charge low fees, we will win more clients than expensive competitors.
We also do that because we don't know when another client could come so we grab what we can to be able to put food on our tables.
Sadly, it's counterproductive.
You won't win more clients by charging low on your services. There's only one way to get more clients, and that's by creating more awareness about your services.
Solution: Improve your appearance and quality of services. Then increase your fees to match the new YOU. At the negotiation table, make the client see why they must pay more for better quality services (without putting down other lawyers, of course).
4. Zero Marketing: I spoke about creating more awareness for your services above.
The only way to create more awareness about your services is through marketing.
I once told a lawyer friend to engage my digital marketing services to pull in more clients to his firm, but he misinterpreted it to mean "breaking the RPC 39."
I simply told him that the RPC 39 doesn't outlaw marketing. It outlaws unethical marketing. You should review it yourself if you doubt it.
Smart lawyers are already crushing it online.
Clients are the lifeblood of your business, and the only way to get a steady stream of clients is to get frequent attention from potential clients.
Referrals and networking are no longer sustainable.
Solution: Find a marketing expert that will bring you attention on the internet within the ethical guidelines of the RPC. Push marketing with everything you have.
But after marketing, clients can come to your firm and still choose to pay peanuts because of...
6. Poor Office Design:
How you dress is how you'll be addressed; same applies to your office space.
If your office is tattered and dirty, clients will not value your services. They will believe you're disorganized, careless and will deliver low quality services.
They would be right.
Research indicates that people are often a replica of their environment and appearance.
Solution: Dress well. Arrange your office properly. And invest in professional interior decoration.
There's another reason why most Nigerian lawyers are not earning their worth....
7. Zero Passive Income Sources:
Warren Buffet, a world renowned investor said that the average billionaire has 7 streams of income.
The richest lawyers all over the world tend to have other sources of income asides their legal practice.
They supplement their professional income with various passive income sources that may or may not be related to their legal services.
Luckily, you can turn your existing legal services into passive income sources that will supplement your legal earnings, generate income even when you have no clients, give you freedom to take vacations and breaks from your job, and many more.
Conclusion
Now that you have learnt why most Nigerian Lawyers are broke and the solution to each one, what's your next line of action?
Will you sit down and do nothing?
Or will you begin to take action now?
If you want to take action, you must begin with implementing Passive Income strategies in your legal practice.
This information is for those interested in real estate investment, either as new covers or veterans.
We all know that real estate sector is one of the fastest growing sector in Nigeria, and it seems to be the most secure investment option in Nigeria today.
The Oxygen Estate is a new property launched by Zeco properties at Aiyeteju, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos.
I do not want to flout Nairaland rules so giving more information is tantamout to an advert, which goes against the rules in this section.
I simply just wanted to provide information you may find helpful (if you’re looking for good real estate investment options in Lagos).
You may find further information about this property on Youtube via:
msMonyei: Business is better than a job, and the OP sounds so stupid. Please men should stop marrying ladies up to 30 years old, for most of them walk with the same mindset as the OP hence their delay, never settle for less...
It all sounds good and fine till you see the women say, "If you're not making ₦1 million monthly, I'm not interested."
In 2024, marrying on a ₦60,000 salary is suicide.
Nọ matter how much financial intelligence you apply to your income, most modern women (who are very entitled and materialistic) will use it to berate and emasculate you with a sea of unrealistic demands as they compare you with other men who's source of income they nọ nothing about.
Despite my objections however, I appreciate your necessary information and otherwise applicable logic in this situation.
But I maintain that any man at such income level should forget about marriage and keep working to be better financial and otherwise.
Adexmik: God gave instructions, you foolishly say its old school, then you are bound to suffer consequences. Don't be wise in your own deceit, it's damnable. Turn now to God and say I'm sorry for all rubbish I've said.
Where did God give such instructions in the new testaments?
The first church recorded in the new testaments didn't collect tithes from members. Neither Peter nor Paul collected tithes from anyone.
Romans introduced it after they took over Christendom and began to exploit the gullibility of miracle seekers with the old testament law of tithing in Judaism (which even Jews are nọ longer practicing).
I challenge you to show me any verse in the bible where tithing was collected in the New Testament church.
However, the early church thrived on freewill donations for the good of the church. Remember the story of Ananias and other Deacons?
That's what Damina is saying here.
Tithing isn’t a Christian doctrine, but an outdated Jewish doctrine being used to exploit gullible fellows.
But trust Nigerians...they'll be quick to say that God is punishing Damina (even though He's the only Pastor following proper Christian doctrine).
If you want to support the gospel, give to the church for growth of the church and the gospel.
Zion Ministries (run by Evang. Ebuka Obi) recently got freewill donations worth several millions of Nigeria during his last crusade in Ngor-Okpala, Imo State.
The massive constructions (crusade ground, church, hotel and possibly a University) planned there are not financed by the false doctrine of tithing (exploitation of ignorant people), but people's freewill donations to support the growth of the ministry.
Gullible brainwashed fellows won't still be able to understand anything I've said so far.
IamAtAnger: No ind them.... Well I just feel blacks are exists to support and serve the whites by default sha... look around you all we survive on in this current times are because of the whites. Wetin Black don invent in history rather than big big grammar?...
