A man in Thailand, 20-year-old Wuttisan Wongtalay, who had a fight with his wife took their 11-month-old daughter on Facebook Live and then hanged himself, police said Tuesday.

Police Col. Jirasak Siemsak said officers were alerted to the crime by those who watched the video and that they responded immediately by going to the location in the video.

Unfortunately, when they got there, they found the bodies of Wongtalay and the baby in an abandoned hotel in Phuket province.

He said:
“He felt neglected by his wife because they had been fighting so he took his 11-month-old daughter to the site of the crime which is the abandoned hotel,” Jirasak said. “Then we found the bodies hanging off the hotel.”

Another officer described the horrifying video, saying:
“You can hear the girl crying and finally the crying stops. Then he pulls her up onto the roof top and unties the rope from her neck.”
The man made the broadcast Monday evening, but the video was taken down by Facebook. The vieo was no longer accessible by late Tuesday afternoon.
“The mother of the child was crying and was very sad,” Jirasak said. “I am also very sad. It is a personal dispute and they were still very young.”
The chief investigator in the Phuket case, Lt. Jula-at Suwannin, said police haven't questioned Wuttisan’s 20-year-old widow because they are giving her time to grieve for the loss of her baby.

Tragedy was averted on Saturday at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Imo State, when an undergraduate, identified as Sydney Prince, jumped into a river in a bid to end his life.

Prince, who's studying Materials and Metallurgical Engineering, is the leader of the “Man O’War,” a campus security outfit in the university.

An witness identified as Stellamaris, an undergraduate of FUTO, said that Prince jumped into the Otammiri river, which is within the school environment after making several phone calls.

Speaking with Punch, she said, “While I and my friends were doing our morning exercise at the Otammiri river bank, he was at the other side of the river crying as he was making phone calls. We ignored him and kept jogging. But after about 20 minutes, he jumped into the river. That was when he started shouting and screaming for help from passers-by.

“He was struggling and gasping for breath. My friends ran to the street to solicit assistance from people and immediately I saw his head, I started encouraging him to hold on to a tree in the river. He finally lost consciousness and was already drowning when professional swimmers arrived and rescued him.”

A source close to the victim, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Prince attempted suicide because he was frustrated by what he believed was unjust treatment by the school management.

“The school management has refused to allow him graduate. He has a lot of spill-over courses. And as the leader of the Man O’war, all the allowances accrued to him in the last 12 months have been withheld. After fighting cultists in the campus, it is very annoying that the school management has been frustrating him.”

When contacted the university’s public relations officer, Chike Ezenwa, confirmed that Prince was a student of the institution. He didn't say anything more than that.

The recently launched Operation HARBIN KUNAMA II by the Nigerian Army in Southern part of Kaduna State which will cover some forests in Bauchi, Kano and Plateau States has started to yield the desired result.

Troops of 1 Division of the Nigerian Army recover large cache of arms and ammunition in southern Kaduna on Saturday 22nd April 2017. The discovery was made when troops embarked on cordon and search of Gwaska, Dangoma, Angwan Far and Bakin Kogi general area of Southern Kaduna State.
During the operation, the troops recovered 73 Dane Guns, 4 Locally Made Rifles, 1 Locally Made Machine Gun and 1 Locally Made Pistol. Others include 260 Cartridges, 14 rounds of 7.62mm Ammunition, 63 rounds of 9mm ammunition, 1 Locally made Small Machine Gun Magazine, a pair of worn out military boot and some quantities of assorted Improvised Ammunition and Pyrotechnics hidden in dug out pits.

While efforts are on going to track down the owners of the arms and ammunition, it is imperative to state the good people of the area have been very supportive and cooperate fully with the military which led to this unprecedented findings.


Similarly, in Sector 1 of the Operation which covers Kano State, troops in conjunction with other security agencies are carrying out operations in suspected armed bandits camps in Falgore forest.

Senator Dino Melaye who escaped an assassination attempt last week has claimed that Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, is planning to assassinate him, for fighting for the state’s workers and pensioners. Melaye stated this while addressing women of his senatorial district, who embarked on a peaceful protest at Aiyetoro-Gbede on Saturday.



The Senator said workers and pensioners in Kogi were suffering and dying, following the non-payment of 15-month salaries and pensions by Governor Bello.

“Yahaya Bello collected N20bn from the Federal Government as bailout fund. Still, he refused to settle workers. He also collected N11bn from the Paris Club fund. Still, he refused to pay workers and pensioners.

“Children can no longer go to school. Tenants can no longer pay their house rent. Enough is enough, the people of Kogi State are tired of this government.

“The advent of Yahaya Bello as governor and Taofiq Isa as local government administrator in the political history of Kogi State has brought this unfortunate socio-political paradigm shift,” Melaye said.

Two herbalists identified as Quadri and Adma have been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly stabbing to death two friends, Wasiu Balogun and Wale Aderinto.
According to Punch, the incident happened last Tuesday after a teenage girl, Kabirat, a sister to the herbalists, came to Wasiu’s house and his wife Mutiat scolded her for refusing to greet the people in her home. An altercation ensued and Kabirat left in anger only for her brothers, the herbalists, to storm Wasiu’s apartment, strip his wife Mutiat naked and beat her up.
Newsmen gathered that when neighbours tried to intervene, the men threatened to hurt them with charms. Wasiu and his friend returned from their workplaces in Ebute-Meta in Lagos to meet to the abused woman. The two men confronted the herbalists brothers, leading to them being stabbed to death.
The police was then alerted by the neighbours.
Speaking with newsmen, here’s what Mutiat said:
“There was no fight on that Tuesday. The girl came to our house and ignored everybody. People in the house scolded her for it.
“When the girl left, her brothers came some minutes later. They are herbalists. Their father is also a native doctor. They came with charms and knives. They beat me up. They stripped me. Neighbours tried to restrain them, but they threatened them.
“When my husband and his friend came back from work, he was angry and he went to their house. They attacked him and his friend with knives. They were both stabbed to death.”
A neighbour, Olumide, added this:
“The suspects’ family worships Osanyin. They were involved in a similar violence sometime last year, but they were pardoned. The man and his friend had gone to talk to them for manhandling his wife.
