Celebrities / Juliana Olayode Aka "Toyo Baby" Finally Opens Up On Beef With Funke Akindele by ChuzzyBlog: 3:14pm On Jun 22, 2017
The removal of Juliana Olayode popularly know as Toyo Baby from Funke Akindele's Jenifa series, raised so many eyebrows and different people suggested different things all geared towards the duo having a misunderstanding!

The both parties have remained coy on this matter until today, Juliana decided to break the ice in what she captioned "The Relationship Between Jenifa And Toyo Baby Uncensored".

Read the post below:

Thank you for choosing to read this post. It hurts when people spread lies about you and you cannot do anything to defend yourself. But thank God for a platform like this. I would be saying a lot of things; it would be a long read but I promise you would enjoy reading.

I would be stating in clear terms the relationship I had with Aunty Funke. I used ‘had’ and would be talking in past tense because like you know, I am presently not on the Jenifa’s Diary series. And guess what? The news just broke lately, but I have been off the series since May,2016 (last year); it’s been over a year already.

My post would be in two parts; who Aunty Funke was to me (Juliana), and then, who I was to her. These are things only few people know but I am ready to let the world know.

Yes! I will start with her. Why? She’s an amazing person and I can’t wait for you to know how lovely she is on a one-on-one basis. We all have our flaws but we choose rather to celebrate our strengths. Here goes!

Aunty Funke to Juliana!

COACH

Aunty Funke met me for the first time at the auditions of Jenifa’s Diary (she did not know me prior to that day). She saw my talent and believed in me. I worked with her for years; she trained me and helped me in becoming a better actress. She would not take anything short of excellence from her cast. I honestly have not seen anyone in Nollywood more hard working than Aunty Funke. And she made it a duty to correct me and coach me on being better.

BENEFACTOR

Aunty Funke helped pay my mum’s hospital bill for a fibroid surgery, two hundred and fifty thousand naira (N250,000), because I had no money at that time. She also gave to the ministry dear to my heart, MINE Teenage Ministry when we were preparing for an event, one hundred thousand naira (N100,000) and my pastor called to appreciate her. So apart from my pay as an actress on the series (which I won’t mention), that’s all I received from her money-wise, asides from change she gave me for transport when leaving set because as at then, I used to jump bus, ‘keke’ and bike to and fro set up until I left the series…lol. But in all, God used her to meet that major need in my life at that time.

BIG SISTER AND ADVISER

I fondly remember the times Aunty Funke would call me to her room while I was staying in her house (during set), and talk to me. She would take her time to advise me and encourage me as regards life in general. One particular day I treasure was the day she came to the room I stayed and told me, in a mother’s tone that I was beautiful and she warned me sternly never to bleach. I smile whenever I remember that. God bless her kind heart!p

CHEERLEADER AND ENCOURAGER

Aunty Funke never ceased to celebrate me. Knowing how excellent she is at what she does (acting), I was shocked, elated and excited all at once the day she told me I was a good actress. She told me I would be great and celebrated. She saw years ago what is happening today. I am thankful for her words.

Juliana to Aunty Funke!

UNOFFICIAL PA

I was privileged to be the one holding Aunty Funke’s bag while on set. I ‘kept’ the money we spent on day-to-day running and was required to balance account afterwards. I don’t like Mathematics, so that was a lot of work…lol. Money was never unaccounted for in my keep. I ran errands for Aunty Funke and made sure all that was needed was supplied.

UNOFFICIAL ASSISTANT MAKE-UP ARTIST

On set, on some occasions, when I was not acting, I was fanning and dabbing the faces of other actresses (including extras). So, this is for those that have accused me of being proud. Please ask those I fanned and dabbed while preparing to go on set later. On some occasions, I also did my own makeup and that of some other cast. All I wanted to do was SERVE; I wanted every set to be a success.

UNOFFICIAL ASSISTANT CATERER

On set, there were different occasions I served cast and crew (plus extras) food and water. At some points, I joined in washing plates when the plates were not enough to go round. And times I was not acting, and I saw the ‘Mamas’ needed help, I joined them in washing plates. They are alive to bear witness.

UNOFFICIAL ASSISTANT COSTUMIER

I hardly forget things I memorised, so I knew the continuity of major characters on the set. Aunty Funke used to ask Costumiers to confirm costumes with me. On some occasions.I had to go to set earlier than others and leave later than others to sort out costumes, including wigs and other accessories. I looked forward to doing it and never once complained

UNOFFICIAL ASSISTANT DRIVER

I could not drive while on Jenifa’s Diary set, and I still cannot…lol but I woke up early on different occasions to wash Aunty Funke’s car. The times I didn’t wash, I dusted the car. She is a neat person, so I made sure the inside of the car and the boot were tidy and clean. For me, it was pleasure serving Aunty Funke.

UNOFFICIAL CLEANER

I lived with Aunty Funke while set was on, so I counted it my duty to clean the house. She lived in a duplex at Chevron at that time, so I cleaned the entire house. Sweeping and moping from room to room. Scrubbing bathroom after bathroom. I arranged wardrobe after wardrobe, laid one bed after another. You would not know any of these if I am not saying this. I did all this with joy. She was special to me and you serve those you love.

UNOFFICIAL WASHER WOMAN

Aunty Funke is neat and very tidy and she does professional drycleaning. But there were times she needed a dress washed urgently and I helped her wash. Please don’t accuse me of being proud or rude to Aunty Funke again. I SERVED her WHOLEHEARTEDLY.

UNOFFICIAL COOK

Some of my fond memories with Aunty Funke are the times I cooked for Aunty Funke. I enjoyed cooking for her. I followed someone who lived with her then (name withheld) to market on different occasions to buy things we used to cook. Please note, I had a home of my own. I stayed with Aunty Funke only when we were shooting except times she specifically asked me to come over.

UNOFFICIAL MASSUER

I learnt how to massage with Aunty Funke; I learnt on the job…lol. I knew she was usually tired when we got back so it was my pleasure to relieve her; she sometimes slept off while I massaged her. There was a day we were on location and we did not take the oil. Someone offered oil but as I held it, my spirit was not at peace. So, I bowed my head and prayed over the oil. I did not know Aunty Funke was watching me. When I opened my eyes, she asked what I did and I told her. Her response was “O se oko mi”, translated, “thank you my dear”.

PRAYER PARTNER

There were different times Aunty Funke called me to pray on location, and sometimes at home. There was a time I gave her a Word of Knowledge. I had a dream once, I told her, and it happened the next day. I fasted and prayed with Aunty Funke and her sister. She called me to pray with her at midnight at some points. She knew from the onset that I was a Christian and that I was committed to prayer. There were different times we both prayed and asked God to give us sponsors. So, for those that have accused me of being “holier-than-thou”, that is the real me o! Everybody on every set I have gone, including Jenifa’s Diary, know I am unapologetically sold out to Jesus. I am not ‘deceiving’ anybody. That is my ‘real face’…lol

SCRIPT ADVISER

I had the pleasure of sitting and gisting with Aunty Funke at different points, whether at home or in the car. We would talk about the script. She sometimes had inspirations in the car and she would ask me to write it down so she doesn’t forget, and she would ask my opinion. I treasure those moments. Interestingly, there was a day we were talking at the house and her husband was there. I talked about loving High School movies and Musicals. I said I wondered why we didn’t have such in Nigeria. Then, we all started talking. JJC Skills even ‘drafted’ me into it already but we were just talking lightly. It is my joy that “INDUSTREET” is a reality today!

Let me stop here! So, with these few points of mine, I hope I have been able to convince you and not confuse you that you shouldn’t believe everything you read until you hear from the source.

Your question now is, what happened? Hmmm! We had a misunderstanding and I cannot disclose what happened without Aunty Funke’s permission. But if you read all I said in the post, you would gather that we were quite close. And when two people get that close, misunderstandings are bound to occur.

All I have said, you can confirm. 100% truth and UNCENSORED!!!

So, it is God, who saw my faithfulness and commitment, Who is rewarding me and announcing me to the world. Dear aspiring celeb, please SERVE and not seek to be served.

Much love!

Juliana Olayode.

Powerful Cover! Since the release of Davido's "IF", the song has been widely accepted by different classes of Nigerians. The "30 Billion" mentioned in the song has also been used for sarcasm by different top Nigerian Celebrities.

Sandra Ifudu who is a singer, decided to leverage on the popularity of the song to drop her cover/remix and as well sell her brand!

Following the capture of the dreaded kidnapping kingpin Evans, and the recent nabbing of criminals, one would have thought that those in these dirty line of businesses will take a chill pill. But obviously, that's not the case.

An attempt to rob a white man behind Fidelma hotel, independent layout in Enugu State has just be foiled by men of the Nigerian mobile police! This happened less than an hour ago.

An eye witness claimed the robbers were two, they were already robbing some cars in from of the white man when his personal security opened fire against them. Shortly, help came from mobile police men who were around the area.

The criminals tried to zoom off but one was unlucky as he was shot on his laps by one of the mobile police men. He has been taken away to police station.

Sometimes, we need to read life stories such as this to help us believe more in ourselves and never give up in life!

Roberta is an IT professional who has worked with top IT firms in Nigeria, she is also cinematographer, entrepreneur and the founder of African Startups TV.

The beautiful lady got married to her prince charming in April 2017. She did not attain all the successes she has today because she had it all rosy from start. Her story will motivate and inspire you. It is quite lengthy but do well to read through.

Read below:

Yesterday we gathered to watch our wedding video, everything was okay until we got to the place where we were signing the marriage register and the videographer used Frank Edward “Let the whole world know” the lyrics of the song got to me especially this part “When it was me against the world, You came and You fought for me, smashing all my enemies and gave me the victory.

You’re my light in the darkness, my ever present help, I’m gonna let the whole world know, You are the Way maker, You are building dreams not failures, You make it all work for me, You are my everything”, I just noticed water gushing out of my eyes cos the song brings memories, the same memory that played back in my head as I walk down the aisle, it stormed my head and I didn’t know if I was smiling or crying, it is in watching the video that I got to know a lot of things that happened as I match in, because I think I wasn’t myself, I had terrific memories, memories that only me and my mum understood.

You see, my mum was all teary through-out my wedding, the little time she came closer to me, I told her please smile, then she went all teary again and water started gushing out of her eyes, I understood totally for exactly 12 years ago just like yesterday I came to Lagos after all hopes of survival failed, I was in SS 2 and life happened so terribly that it seems that it was the end, I remember packing my bags off school heading back to the village, on my way back I would branch the house of my best friends to say a final good bye, there were more than friends Ndy Eshiet, Mmeyene Eshiet and Eshiet Iboro, I remember that as I turned back to leave Ndy Eshiet cried and handed me some money and ask me to keep in touch.

As I journeyed back I saw a GCE form advert a voice said, use the money to get the form, I followed that voice, got down purchased the form, I would later sit for the exams and passed all papers without a C (All As and Bs). Thinking what can I do and asking God questions, then I have an aunty that comes to Lagos often, she came to visit my mom but met her absence so I engaged her instead, can I come with you to Lagos this time, I just want to get out of here for now so my head will rest, she said no, your mom won’t let you, I said don’t bother about that side, I’ll sort it, I would later convince my mom to give me 3 months to go think out of the box, she never agreed but I made her weak enough to allow me part.

Fast forward I am sitting inside a big BRT like bus coming to Lagos, I will peep outside at intervals, then I started thinking about life, put my head on the small bag I had on my leg and started praying or no, started asking God questions and fighting him, God Didn’t you say your children will be the head and not the tail?

Didn’t you say you will make my future bright and beautiful? But God they were all lies as I have been thrown off school, I managed to take GCE, God you lied, just admit it that you lied and we can now all come to conclusion that what you told me in the alter that day wasn’t possible or visible anymore, I ask a lot of nonsense questions, then I started asking God to forgive me all over again, I didn’t know when I cried out inside the bus, I cried so much everyone ran to my seat and ask what happened, I couldn’t speak I just told them I was praying and everyone were like then why are you crying.

I kept quiet and started talking to God, if I have ever heard the voice of God before then, it was never as clear as when he told me “I will establish you in Lagos”, then I wondered how possible because have heard a lot of bad things about Lagos, we have had neighbors and friends who had gone to Lagos and they were all amount to nothing from what I know, so I kept asking God how possible, me I just want to stay 3 months to clear my head.

Fast forward to few months in Lagos, I finally spotted my church in Itire, been looking for it for long, it just seems to be the only place that gives me that connection with God, as I finally spotted the church I was so excited I ran in Sunday evening, the 1st person I saw was a brother standing in front of the church, he was from my village, I didn’t know him as I have not lived in the village for long but with my face he told me I should be from the Edu’s family, I would later agree with him and he would shake his head after asking me what I am doing in Lagos and I said house girl.

He asked how he can speak with my mom, he would later find a phone number to reach my mom and on that day he called my mom the first thing he said was I want you to recall this girl from Lagos immediately if not, you have just agreed to waste her, in fact she is wasted already, I will provide the transport fare, I want to hear that she is gone like tomorrow morning. Even though he had gone faraway to talk to my mom I could still sense what he was saying from afar and finally he came with the phone and my mom was on the phone, before I could say hello, she was deep in tears, she couldn’t even talk, she summed up courage to say, I want you to return back like tomorrow, Brother – said he will give you transport  I gave her time to talk, she started listing the names of people that have gone to Lagos and have all become a ghost of what people thought they will be in life and how she didn’t want my life destroyed, unwanted pregnancy and all sort of things.

I summoned up courage and I said to her, God said He will establish me here, mom went mad what! Which God told you that, it’s not a good God that want to destroy you o, where did you see God that he told you such nonsense, I will swear for you next time you call out any God in this matter, how can I suffer for years to raise you people and now you want to put me to shame, I summoned another courage and said, mummy don’t worry yourself, I know what God has told me and I promise you that I will be different and if me and God ever had a different choice or change of mine I will come back but for now, pray for me…

I cut off the phone, even though I never knew how I am going to come out of my situation, God knew, He went ahead of me and today He has proved Himself beyond every doubt in my life, So when God started answering my prayers, one of the things that were in my mind were God help me not to forget how you've helped me, made me and how your grace have found me, the promise i made to my mom and self kept singing in my head all the time and even though i wasn't in anyway desperate to proof anything to her, i knew that one day, that day will come.

So after my traditional wedding I looked at my mom and she went all teary and said thank you, you were right, God indeed did speak to you… So who am I not to let the whole world know that God is a way maker…

I want to use this opportunity to thank everyone that made my wedding a memorable one, especially those who flew in from Lagos Olabode Efuntoye Babatope Makun Tmak, Ebere Ogbonna Ujunwa Ogbonna, my mummy in the Lord Mrs Opaleye Olusola Folakemi etc. Uyo District Overseer Rev Inyang, Ministers of the gospel, Uyo Music Director, Uyo Chief Organist Samuel Uwak, Uyo Choir you guys were wonderful, my Uyo friends Ini OkonChristian Udo God bless all of you, my childhood friends the everlasting Eshiet Iboro and Christian Edet, our Sunday school children choir soloist Inimfon (Umoh Itoho-Ukeme tag her) my matron Blessing Abraham and everyone that turned up even though some of you do not even know me, I am most grateful.
