Elder!!!

Veteran Nollywood actor, Pete Edochie who is in Ghana to shoot a movie with Kofas Media has suggested that African leaders swear-in into elected Government positions with smaller gods instead of the bible following the high rate of corruption in Africa.

The actor who paid a courtesy visit to the former president of Ghana, H.E Jerry John Rawlings on Friday, February 17, 2017, with casts of the new movie, said state officials who swear with the Bible become more corrupt when they are in office.

According to him, God forgives easily, so these officials do not take the oath serious whenever they hold the Bible to swear.

He further said that the smaller gods are not merciful like the Almighty God who created heaven and earth. He said they swear with gods so that it will put fear in these corrupt leaders to distance themselves from corruption.

Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe who celebrates his 93rd Birthday today, February 21, 2017, has ruled out retirement saying he has no 'acceptable' successor in place. In excerpts culled out from a radio broadcast that will later air this week, the world's oldest national leader, who has been in power since Zimbabwe's independence in 1980, said:

'The call to step down must come from my party, my party at the congress, my party at central committee. But then what do you see? It's the opposite. They want me to stand for elections.'
'The majority of the people feel that there is no replacement, a successor who to them is acceptable, as acceptable as I am,' he added.

However, his wife Grace Mugabe who is seen as a possible successor if the president finally decides to retire had earlier stated that the citizens will still vote her husband's corpse even when he is dead.
