since the new company(indriver, am sure most of u guys now know them). when it was mention an MPR meeting i attended, i knew something was brewing, i started looking at wht i can get on this sector from the words of the players in them, someone directed me to read this page, am very sure the company hav done their due diligence(survey).

it is very possible for any company to either beat uber or killed by uber(any which way).

This InDriver App is somewhat where am thinking of. This is marvelous. Agreed negotiations. Not some non calculating men that enjoy rat race in this short life.

in nigeria, as a case study, what is needed are
1.political backing(nobody will tell u this), trust me u just need to see the names of the promoter of mtn(their top individual shareholders) and budwizer to mention few.

2.open cheque for marketing. u need to see the values Etisalat (then) use to break into the market(X3M guys made serious money and they delivered). mtn marketing cheque book is far higher than alot of states total IGR except lagos,

3.weakness of competitions, wht i saw in tht meeting is interesting, it is serious demand and supply affecting d price of each pick ups, total freedom for driver and raiders. 0% commission is just for 6-7months,their commission is around 7-9%.

this page is interesting, alot of people read this page for different reason, i just focus on the info i need and disregard insultive and abusive comments.

you guys are all hardworking and tht is the truth.

trust me alot of guys will be given a chance for referral commission(this might just be for just 1 year, but the standard will be high).

it is very possible to beat uber(there are some billionaires tht missed uber and taxify and wont miss this)

and it is very possible for uber to kill it(the dstv & hitv story, if u know, u know)

Oga, 35k to you is nothing, to me is something.

Maintenance is done by owner. You do the subtraction with ur brain, then know the final balance.

Why all this manipulation, I should stop working and save the car? Is been online 12hours a day meaning I'm killing the car?

When you mentioned karma, how does it relate to me doing my job, pls stop been stupid.

I believe you went to school. Profit is not counted from all the whole Money you made, subtract expenses, what you have left is your profit. Don't post 35k and open your mouth widely to say it's OK. Is that your profit? When you must have removed fuel and other miscellaneous I am pretty sure that cash won't be above 10k. When I say karma I meant you should use other people's property well so your own won't be used ruggedly.

12 hours a day? WTF? assuming your day starts by 6 you have 24-6 = 18hrs for a day. It means the engine have been on from 6am to 6pm without going off only to make 10k my brother. Excess Stress reduces your lifespan like wise that of the car. So if you have to stress yourself let the pay worth it.

Your kind of people are the ones giving car owners hopes that 35k a week is achievable.

Forget about being stupid I don't want to respond to that, but I just want to give you small sense if you go free listen.

Ride sharing app would be pointless if there are no drivers to pick you up. Therefore, 90% of the user experience depends on the driver.

I have a solution:
Use uber and Taxify app to get your clients, tell them you are charging off the app, if they agree TO YOUR TERMS you bill them and THEY cancel the ride. If they don't agree you still ask THEM to cancel the ride while you look for another offer. If that language becomes a general language trust me they will be forced to use your off the app services.

I don't just start my car for N375 that uber collects from a short ride. I politely ask you your destination and bill you which 80% says No. Am ok with the 20% for the day it still keeps my car in good shape for a longer lifespan.

Am thinking of getting a whatsapp platform we try as much as possible to get a lot of drivers on that platform to think of the way forward.
I know the issue will be on people who are paying weekly 35-40k how will they meet up with such 20% don't worry, there's always a way out of every predicament.

I need reasonable opinions please.

Just mark my word, I don't have any child or gf that increase my bills, just me alone, I stayed in a 1room house with colleagues, my yearly rent is 20k, my monthly bill for light and others is 1500... I don't drink.

I'm on a mission and my mission is to buy A car from Uber work, i won't be the first to achieve and I won't be the last.

I can actually buy a car now, with Wat I have save so far, but it will be dead Kia Rio, I have seen some 400-500, but I don't want.

My mission is corolla and tokunbo.

Meanwhile as e dey go, yesterday was not bad.

Stop deceiving people my brother, 35k is nothing, how much fuel? Abi you no dey eat? You no dey wash your car? You no dey do maintenance? Do all those subtractions then bring out your final digits. Your trip is showing 29 trips that's a good number of fuel must have been used. Don't kill the destiny of that car because you want to buy yours, KARMA no dey forget address.

When you say you are shock and sad and you still look at Uber drivers and say they are doing OK. My brother that is Irony. These men are ruggedly being used to enrich these foreign companied. Imagine 25% for every ride. And some ride are still N367 In this country. Common man let's not support trash. I feel humiliated begging a rider for extra tip after a ride and will NEVER DO THAT.
These guys have the contact and facilities then let them make everyone to smile

You have revealed yourself as a low-life scum, with moral scruples worse than that of a gutter dwelling piq.

You always regale us with stories of Uber profitability, and your weekly savings, little did we know that you also eat up the weekly remittance of the partner. The truth always has a way of coming out.

Your type can't take care of any car entrusted to you, and will not think twice before driving through flooded areas, as long as you meet your target, after all, the patner makes 5k daily and you can call on him for repair.

This thread has seen a good number of scumbags and morally branckupt lepers like you. You will always go the way of others

My point exactly. You have said it all. Life of 3k per day really a low life scum. How much food will you eat, what will you take home. Shame to many of you that are supporting these trash of 3k per day. Your mates are upgrading seriously while you are busy running Rat race.

You see wickedness and evil in high places. Na to buy your car finally, after killing this one, while eating up the rentals you paid to him.

Those Aba business men you are condemning are 80% better than you at the moment. U are settling for a life of 3k per day which is a good one but the wickedness of using the car anyhow and calling the man to fix up shows a great deal of wickedness.when you buy your own you will understand. Why are you living an ordinary life when you can honestly work hard and live an extraordinary one?

Nigerian's let stop deceiving others and tell them the Truth.
I am an Uber and Taxify driver. I owe my ride and I driver by myself at my free period.
Let's get it straight.
These companies are just making huge amount of money for themselves without considering the drivers, they only care about the rider.

Now let's analyse these points:

1. Uber has slashed their riders fee to 40% in order to get the riders to keep coming back, that is to say if a Ride was calucated to be N1,000 in 2017, now it's N600. The 40% slash is not going into the drivers pocket, it's a discount that goes into the thin air. Inside that 600 that was charged, 25% goes to uber and 75% goes to the driver. Let share it, uber takes 150, driver takes 450(fuel, maintenance, car owners money, pocket money and your feeding included).

2. Considering Lagos Traffic still these companies make fares look very miserable at the end of a journey.
E.g. A trip from Ojuelegba to Lasu from was calculated to be 2,600 although there was no Traffic but the road is terrible. Before I ended the ride the lady was like "I hope it won't exceed 5,000" in my mind I smiled because I was expecting to see more than 5k. Funny enough I saw 2,600 with my mortuary standard AC and fuel, I was MAD. Can you believe that on my way coming back there was no order going back to Surulere from that zone I had to run empty and was in a traffic for almost 2hrs and I got to my office by 10:14am. This is ridiculous I said, I laid a complaint and they told me that the fare was calculated appropriately. Ok I chill.

A normal Taxi will consider a lot of things into factor before taking you to that place:
A. Distance
B. Traffic
C. Chances of not getting a rider back
D. Fuel
E. Stress
F. Vehicle maintenance. Etc
G. Don't forget oh! He is not putting Ac for you.
H. Accident (God guide us)

Driving is strictly a mental stress job, in doing mental stress work you age quickly and that is while 96% of drivers in this country grow white hairs quickly. It's not as a result of age it's the mental stress attached to it.
*Foreign companies pay more on a mental stress job because they understand the predicament attached to it*

Second instance
How can you charge 1800 from the same Ojuelegba to ogba in Ikeja after heavy traffic in the evening. This is really madness.
Come on, I understand that you need to stay in business but not at the drivers detriment, because they are really the finger that feeds you companies.
We all understand how heavy traffic is in the evening from 4-8pm and you still give funny bills. These riders comfort is really guaranteed why is the comfort not reflecting in their bills?

3. Drivers account for 35k-40k a week to the car owners. I want to ask, all these non-calculating drivers that accept such deals, is it the same business they are doing with it or are they running inter-state because that is better.

A lot of these guys don't seem to have much responsibility, most of them live in someone's house and pay no rent and they take care of themselves alone. Please you should think twice let's work something out.

Maximum you can make a week after all the hard work if you follow Uber and Bolt rules is 35-40k per week after expenses, you pay car owners 35k you are left with 5k. Hmmmmm! how can you rely on <10k per week for a mentally drained job like driving?

4. A typical nigeria don't read T/C before accepting, I accepted anyways but I am seriously complaining to them but believe me a lot of people are ready to accept even if it kills them. So the company feels reluctant about my complaints.

5. Friday, Saturdays and Sundays, are peak periods Yes I agree. My people don't consider a lot of factors, car repairs likewise maintenance are very expensive. Your stress, your life span?

Americans understood these fact which I know that our own conditions are far worst than theirs and they still went on strike. My brother if we strike for 1 month alone, these guys will be greatly affected and think twice.

99% of Nigeria females stays at the back and complain with their bad mouth, these are girls who don't even have Ac in their houses and when they come in they talk to you like their personal drivers with heavy authority. Lol, but this is one of the side attractions.

Me and you have decided to work hard and that doesn't mean that we should work our Ass out to make very little money. Working hard is good but working smart is fun. Together we can works wisely.

Bring in your experiences let's shear and tackle issues.

Thanks and drive safe.

Drivers poses a great role in any economy, and should be regarded. If All drivers should go for strike only 1 day 80% of all company workers will be absent. The remaining 20% have their cars and can't play all the roles in offices.

Instead of asking/begging for extra tips at passengers drop off, I think we have to re - strategies on how to be contented. We can only do this by making or forcing these companies to make the job more lucrative again.
