#Cuniculture is the agricultural practice of breeding and raising domestic rabbits as livestock for their meat, fur, or wool. Cuniculture has been practiced all over the world since at least the 5th century.

#Backyard rabbit farming can be a great idea for having healthy meat and an additional source of income for the family without much involvement. As backyard animals, rabbits are quiet, odourless and docile animals. They can be raised conveniently in residential area with minimum expense.
#A small backyard rabbitry may consist of about four breeding females (does) and one breeding male (buck) to produce two fryers per week the year-round. The unit can provide nutritious and wholesome meat for the family. The meat from backyard rabbit is considered as white meat which is high in protein and low in fat, sodium and cholesterol as compared to other common meats available such as beef, lamb, pork and poultry.

##Davich rabbitry, Ughelli will be conducting a free online training that will provide basic knowledge on how to run a backyard rabbitry. This is geared towards promoting rabbit farming in the state.
