Following Ameerah's conviction for inventing a fake kidnapping claim, Miss Ameerah Sufyan was given a 12-month psychiatric term by a Magistrate Court in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Wuse Zone 2, Abuja. The detained IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu sought to be released on bail.However, the Federal High Court in Abuja dismissed his new application. The trial judge of the court; Binta Nyako made this decision because she was not satisfied with the explanation the IPOB leader provided for the reason he did not show up in court to continue his trial the day he was supposed to. The trial judge observed that, both Kanu and those standing for him were represented by attorneys on the day that their bail was cancelled.
