Aside same sex marriage being legalized by the US authorities in the past months , she has signed into law the unclothedness bill which gives every citizen the right to wear what he or she may likes or even go naked in the public without being cautioned or harassed. The Vice-Chancellor of University of Ibadan
(UI), Prof Isaac Adewole Tuesday disclosed
that the institution would only admit 3,700
candidates out of 8,992 that wrote the post
University Tertiary Matriculation Examination
(UTME) last weekend.
He also added that five candidates who scored
highest scores will be given scholarship by the
premier institution.
Prof. Adewole who was represented by the
Deputy-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Emilolorun
Ayelari while addressing journalist yesterday
disclosed that the result is now available at
the institution’s website for candidates to
view.
The candidates are: Adetunji
AbdulRaham-55328333ED, scored 86, Law;
Amaji Obinna Charles, 55110959DE scored 86,
Medicine and Surgery, Adebiyi
Tijesunimi-55361970BC, scored 85, Electrical
and Electronics Engineering, Oke
Dorcas-55974720AJ, 83, Medicine and Surgery
and Olowosulu Cassandra
Olawumi-56630251JB, 83 and also of
Medicine and Surgery.
Adewole said:”23,200 candidates scored above
200 in UTME, 20,800 applied for the post
UTME in our institution and only 19,268 took
the screening and examination. Our new
method of admitting students with the
O’levels and UTME result has really reduced
students from withdrawing at the first year
due to poor performances.
“The performance of the five best candidates
that were given automatic scholarship from
this institution will b monitored and they may
be retained after their studies here” he said.
Adewole warned members of the public not to
influence the institutions admission officials
for admission into the institution.”
The UI VC also admonished parents and
guardians not to force courses of their choice
on the children and wards but should allow
them to study courses that they have the
ability to cope with. Source: thenationonlineng.net/post-utme-ui-to-admit-3700-from-8992-candidates/ |
The Movement for the Actualization of the
Sovereign State of Biafra( MASSOB), yesterday
accused the Inspector General of Police (IGP),
Solomon Arase of lawlessness by inciting violence
in the South East. The allegation came even as
the Delta State branch of the movement vowed to
shed the last drop of their blood for the
realisation of the MASSOB dream.
The group, therefore, warned the IGP not to start
a fire the Police would not be able to contain. In
a statement by MASSOB Assistant National
Director, Comrade Sunny Okereafor, “The
Inspector- General of Police has shown that he is
a lawless person by ordering his men to attack
unarmed people, shooting and killing our
members in the church, market places for
agitating for their rights.
The statement read further, “ imagine the Police
storming our churches, shooting guns, abusing
Christians in our land, ” insiting, “we are Biafrans
and we remain Biafrans. You cannot force us to
remain in Nigeria and any person or man who
does not want to hear about MASSOB should
leave eastern Nigeria without further delay,” the
statement read further.
“No amount of intimidation can make us to go
back. Biafra is the answer; Nigerian police should
stop posting their members here, we have our
own security. No going back on Biafra, on Biafra
we stand!” The group reaffirmed.
On its part, the Delta State chapter of the
Movement has said there is no going back on the
struggle. Addressing members amid downpour,
MASSOB leader in the state, Comrade Joseph
Odikpo, said what the body is demanding for is
legal. He maintained that the group had met all
the conditions required for separation from
Nigeria, adding that some foreign and African
countries had done likewise without war,
bitterness or rancour.
Also, the western zone coordinator of the
Movement, Mr Mayor Ben-Onuegbu has reiterated
its resolve to part ways with the country.
Addressing journalists in Lagos as part of
activities marking the 16th year anniversary of the
organization , he said MASSOB had reported the
matter to the United Nations in 1999 through the
Bill of Rights, urging the international body to use
its good office to ensure its peaceful separation
from Nigeria. He said that the struggle to secede
became necessary on account of the
marginalization the region has suffered for many
years. Source: http://sunnewsonline.com/new/anambra-killings-igp-lawless-massob/ |

Please permit me to borrow some lines from
one of our own. ''It is easy to romanticize
poverty, to see poor people as inherently
lacking agency and will. It is easy to strip
them of human dignity, to reduce them to
objects of pity. This has never been clearer
than in the view of Africa from the American
media, in which we are shown poverty and
conflicts without any context.''
Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie It has been a long time coming and here it is. The long awaited Biafra media which consist of different types of communications media: television, radio, newspapers, magazines, and web sites. The Indigenous People Of Biafra under the leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has achieved another milestone towards the total and final restoration of our dear homeland; Biafra. For many years, the views, stories, sufferings, pogroms and genocide committed by the Nigerian government on the indigenous people of Biafra and the silence of the world at large have been overlooked by the Nigerian media and most of all the world's media and our stories have been told in the worst imaginable way man can think of. This time around, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) is ready to propagate our news and stories to the entirety of humanity through our own media. Gone are the days when unprintable things about Biafra are circulated by the Nigerian government and her news agency. There is no stopping us and Biafra media house is here to stay. It gladdens our heart to tell the entirety of humanity that gradually, we are moving closer to our beloved homeland; Biafra. According to Dan Brown “The media is the right arm of anarchy.” The Nigerian government has used her media to cause and foment trouble by trying to stop Radio Biafra from propagating the much needed truth to people of goodwill and sympathizers of the Biafrans worldwide. This singular devilish act of the Nigerian government to silence us has given birth to our presence both in the space (satellite), air, online, print, on the streets and in every nukes and crannies of Nigeria and the rest of the world. All thanks to Chiukwu Okike for this stride and for many more that is to come. We can't stop thanking all the Indigenous People of Biafra worldwide that made this possible. With oneness of purpose and believing in our sole belief which is the total restoration of Biafra in our lifetime, there is nothing we plan to achieve that we won't achieve. We can be reached via: New TV (Video) channel called “BIAFRA TELEVISION” on our Yamal-402 DTH Platform: Frequency: 11045MHz Pol: Vertical Symbol Rate: 40MSym DVB-S, QPSK, 2/3 FEC Service ID: 5 Radio Biafra on 15560 KHz short wave (SW) at 19 meter band. Please note your radio must have 19 meter band. Listen 7pm Biafran time. Source: Biafratimes |
The controversial so called pirate channel, Radio Biafra, has again resumed transmission, despite the Federal Government’s claim that it had jammed the station’s signals. The Federal Government had on July 14 announced that it jammed the transmission signals of the radio station, which was operating illegally from an unknown location. Our correspondent observed that the channel had not been transmitting on the FM 104.7 band, on which its signals were received in Enugu, since July. However, it was observed on Saturday that the station, which was monitored from 8pm to 9pm, had resumed transmission on the same 104.7 FM band, from which it transmitted before it went off air. Listeners were invited to call in from various parts of the South-East, and from outside the country. The station was still transmitting as of the time of filing this report. The broadcast addressed the most current issues in the country, an indication that the channel was still on air. Meanwhile, Radio Biafra is trending as the number one radio station with a global reach and listeners.
