What a respective give-and-take relationship between Russia and China. Each country has something valuable to offer the other and something important to gain in return. That is why they respect each other.

Unlike the USA under Trump. After placing many economic sanctions on China and attacking Chinese companies for years, the USA still went to China last week with some of its top tech entrepreneurs like Elon Musk and others, asking for the Chinese market to be opened more to American products and services.

The USA even went as far as seeking China's help and support on issues like stopping Iran from developing nuclear weapons and helping to maintain stability around the Strait of Hormuz.

This shows that in global politics and business, no country can survive alone. Respect naturally comes when both sides have something important to offer each other.

What a disappointing university, living off past glories.

This isn’t a mistake. It’s a common, wicked practice especially aimed at postgraduate students who come from other universities and dare to outperform their own graduates.

I know because I was a victim of this barbaric act. During my master’s program in the same OAU, I was on track to graduate with a distinction. But before releasing the results, the sadistic lecturers would hold a meeting just to decide how many marks to deduct from my score before making the result public

Thankfully, one student had all the hard evidence and took them to court. And justice was served.

It is important that we move beyond constantly referencing the Jonathan era. Clinging to that comparison can be both misleading and unproductive.

The truth is, while the current administration and its predecessor have failed to meet the expectations of Nigerians, this does not imply that the Jonathan administration was a success either.
In reality, it is like comparing the exam results of three students: one scored 19%, another 10%, and the last 2%.

Ultimately, they all failed, and none of them deserves praise. We must acknowledge that failure is failure, regardless of the degree. What truly matters is holding leadership accountable and striving for progress rather than engaging in fruitless comparisons.

It may feel pessimistic saying this but the management of those institutions are not even helping at all. Granted that the FG is not funding them nor creating alternative funding routes for them. However, they also generate some funds and the funds they receive are not being maximised.

For example, I don't know why till this day, UI cannot create her own independent power system when Unilorin, OAU and co federal universities have independent power supply. You enter the school at night, and every where is dark like a village. This is aside other areas of infrastructure where the seriousness on the part of the school management could have helped the situation.
