DuBLINGreenb: If your family was well off in the 1980’s, 1990’s, 2000’s and even 2010’s but today your family is struggling, Please tell us what happened, what changed, where did things go wrong ? What can we learn?
presido11: But many times robbers attack two poles away from police check point. Robbers attack banks with police security.
Nigerians should condemn the extortion by police officers, and maybe the blockage of roads. You see, their presence on the road? That can at least hinder some bold criminals from causing mayhem
When sowore dey America can he see police on the road and tell them to leave the road? if something happens on that road it's the same sowore that will be asking where is the police?
Good point.
Also applies to all Nigerians. If robbers attack on the highway, they will be shouting 'Where's the police!?'
Glimpsetv: Omoyele Yele Sowore, a Nigerian politician, human rights activist, reporter, pro-democracy campaigner, and the founder of the popular online news agency Sahara Reporters, recently had a confrontation with the Nigerian police along the airport road.
A video capturing the incident shows some Nigerian police officers stopping vehicles on the road, and Sowore’s vehicle was among those stopped. He confronted the officers, criticizing them for causing unnecessary traffic on the airport road. Sowore insisted that their actions were inappropriate and disruptive.
In the video, Sowore can be heard saying, “We are not parking. You are not supposed to be causing traffic on the airport road. We are not parking. Go and bring your Oga. You people should calm down.”
Despite his objections, the police officers stood in front of his car, insisting that he park. Sowore, however, refused and firmly ordered the officers to clear the road.
Eventually, one of the officers instructed his colleagues to let Sowore pass. One of the officers was heard saying, “God punish you,” to which Sowore retorted, “God punish you too,” before driving off.
The police may not be acting right by being on the road. In this situation, Sowore was using a tinted glass, which warrants to be stopped and checked. Imagine if it was a bandit hiding behind that tint.
Rapmoney: Do you still remember when people used to pay for phone calls at phone booths? Then calls were charged per minute. If you make a phone call of 1 minute 3 seconds, you would be requested to pay for two minutes. I still remember how we were very careful then, always talking and looking at the phone screen to see that it didn't exceed the money we had budgeted to spend for the call.
Then, if someone wanted to call you, the call business operator would notify you and you stay close by so that you could receive the call through his or her phone. I think the per second billing by Glo and the reduction of the price of simcards killed this business.
Some people here may not be able to relate with these because they were born when sim cards and phones became available like sachet water. My neighbour as at then bought MTN simcard for N68,000.
Some people grew in this business to become millionaires
SmartPolician: The number of foolish people in Nigeria is alarming. No matter what a politician does, he will still have tens of thousands of people supporting him. Nigeria is a sick country.
gr8ofnnetwork: Awaiting the response of Nigeria's Mr&Mrs "in sane clime" to remark. Anyway, since they are mentally enslaved, they will surely justify why it is a possibility in the Almighty UNITED STATEs.
And you didn't see the helicopters pouring water and the trucks using pipes?
These ones using this 'bags' (not women handbag) are only supplementing. You should know better.
Don't take everything on social media as the real picture. Even towards the end of the video, you can see more trucks coming and some other firefighters rolling out pipes. Those guys are trying.
The lady who made that video didn't realise they were trying to quench the fire that may soon burn down her house if left uncontrolled
They should swallow their pride and ask Russia for help.
Russia has specialized equipment for fighting wildfires. Some of the best in the world.
You should he ashamed. You believe this is the way fire fighters will control the fire outbreak?
That video is from one lady trying to get social media attention.
Those firefighters have been very busy. Checkout the trucks there, you'd see some guys were rolling out pipes, setting things up. Even there's Helicopter that us helping to pour water. The social media lady won't show all these... and in her naivety, those bags are women's handbag.lol
Please those guys need encouragement more than criticisms.
jedisco: Imagine what western media would say if this was an African nation
Watch the video , that's an ungrateful woman making that video. You'd notice the fire they quenched with the 'bags' wasn't even the main area, but they had to do it to avoid terrible incident soon.
Thank you for this. If they didn't do it, that lady's house or car could have been burnt down. Those firefighters are doing their best. They need encouragement, and not this kind of social media judgement or mockery
Some people don't know. Teachers should be careful and avoid assaulting pupils.
This may change approach towards teaching children in that school. The teachers may start giving the kids more homeworks so that their parents can do the teaching, especially for the kids who find it difficult to cope in class
He is right. Igbos, Yorubas, and Hausa/Fulani can't work out things in a country. Because we don't share the same culture, beliefs, and religion. We don't have anything in common.
Things can work out, if amendments are made in the constitution. For exple, the Nigerian presidency will be more of a ceremonial head of the country, while the regional leaders run the affairs of the region independently, etc.
