We've heard of national Honour award being bestowed on good citizens and indeed deserving Nigerians, a recent example is that of super eagle team that won the 2013 edition of Afcon, they were given MON, the captain, OON and coach CON.

My question is what are the benefits u derived from being honoured with this awards, socially, economically and so on. Pls anybody with better knowledge can enlighten me on this or is it just for show and prestige?
