This is the result of poor governance... - Lack of funding for schools - Lack of Educational materials - Lack of basic infrastructural facilities - Low or irregularities in teachers' salary - Lack of educated teachers - Lack of Inadequate Electricity (In some cases, No Electricity) - And so many factors are involved... Iniesta and Messi receive 2013 IFFHS awards The International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS) has presented the awards for the year 2013 Messi has been honoured as the highest goalscorer in the world’s main football leagues, and Iniesta as the best playmaker in the world On Friday, Andrés Iniesta and Leo Messi received the awards at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper from Robert Ley, vice-president of the International Federation of Football History & Statistics. Iniesta has been announced as the best playmaker in the world and Messi as the top goalscorer in the world’s biggest leagues. This is the second consecutive time that Iniesta has won the award after he also collected it in 2012, thus succeeding his team-mate Xavi Hernández, who has won it four times. Messi has also won his award for the second time in a row. HAS DECIDED TO PUT AN END TO HIS CAREER Abidal calls it a day Eric Abidal has called a press conference today in which he will communicate his decision to hang up his boots. The Frenchman, who started this season off at Olympiacos, has only played in 10 games with the Greek set-up. Unhappy with the level of Greek football, Abidal has decided that enough is enough. He will now return to Barcelona, where he played for six seasons, to accept the club's offer. Olympiacos manager Michel had made it clear that he wasn't really counting on the player: "It's quite clear that in his case, his personal and family situations are more important", he said. The player will soon join up with the Barça management team.
