Barcelona striker Luis Suarez has been presented with the Golden Shoe trophy by his former Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish - and says he is ready for his El Clasico debut.

Suarez won the award - for scoring the most league goals in Europe - after netting 31 times for Liverpool last season, the same tally Cristiano Ronaldo managed at Real Madrid.

The Uruguayan later moved to Barca and is coming to the end of a four-month ban for biting Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini at the World Cup.

Luis Suarez says he's feeling fit and is 100% ready to make his Barcelona debut.

His debut could come in 10 days time, when he will be eligible to face Barca's rivals Real Madrid in the Spanish season's first Clasico, a game you can watch live on Sky Sports 5.

Suarez has emphasised he is fit and raring to go for the game after featuring in two friendlies for his country over the past few days.

Asked if he was 100 per cent ready for the Real match, he said: "If you had asked me that a week ago, before the two games with Uruguay, I may have had doubts.

"But I have played in those two games and I am probably in better condition than I thought I was. So I think I can say now, yes, 100 per cent, I am ready to play."

Suarez hand-picked Dalglish to present his award, and speaking at the ceremony he said: "I want to thank all the most important people in my life, my wife and my children.

"And of course everyone at Liverpool - all my colleagues, not just last year but over the whole three-and-a-half years I was at the club.

"They were spectacular years and it was thanks to this man here (Dalglish) that they signed me, that they noticed me.

"I think I can say now, yes, 100 per cent, I am ready to play."

"Now I am moving on to a new period, and I have to enjoy this next stage of my life - it is a dream come true.

"On a personal and individual level it is always welcome to win these titles.

A message from Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard was played during the event in which the midfielder had nothing but kind words for his former team-mate Suarez.

"Huge congratulations from myself, Luis' ex-team-mates and everyone connected to Liverpool Football Club," the midfielder said.

Meanwhile, when Dalglish - the man who signed Suarez for Liverpool - was asked how he thinks Suarez will fare at Barcelona, the Scot said: "I don't think there will be anybody who will be able to stop him.

"He has been fantastic everywhere he has been - a huge success and fabulously entertaining. There is no reason why he won't continue that for Barcelona.

"But if he does hit a problem, I'm sure we can take him back on loan!"

Barcelona's big summer signing is ready to make his debut against Real Madrid.

Luis Suarez believes it was written in the stars for him to make his Barcelona debut against Real Madrid....
The Uruguay star is in line to make his long-awaited Barca bow at the Santiago Bernabeu on Oct. 25 - a day after the expiry of his four-month ban for biting Italy's Giorgio Chiellini at the World Cup.
Suarez looked sharp in his country's friendly against Oman on Monday, scoring twice in a comfortable 3-0 victory.
The former Liverpool man has now set his sights firmly on El Clasico - and feels destiny has decreed that he will debut for Barca at the home of its fiercest rival Real.
"It's a huge coincidence but I'm looking forward to the experience," Suarez told Barca Magazine. "You know, I'm the kind of person who believes that things happen for a reason, and of all 19 teams in the league, it's precisely against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu that I'll make my comeback.
"There must be a reason."
Suarez's first UEFA Champions League appearance for Barca is set to come on Nov. 5 at Ajax - a club he captained and scored 111 goals in 159 appearances for prior to moving to Liverpool in Jan. 2011.
Much like the fact his bow for Barca will come against Real, Suarez believes it is fate that he will play against Ajax this season.
"There are so many coincidences - and in Amsterdam of all places!" he added. "To go back there after so much time and to return in the Champions League against the first team I played the Champions League with, for the team I have dreamed of all my life, which is Barcelona - yes, it's destiny again.
"It will be a very special game for me, to meet again with all the people at the club, and the fans. I love all of that."

Brazil's friendly against Argentina in China on Saturday is under threat because Beijing is engulfed in smog.

Players are stuck in their hotels after authorities issued an orange pollution alert - the second highest level.

Thursday's air quality was 18 times worse than the recognised safety level.

"One of the pieces of advice that those responsible for pollution control give is that people should stay indoors and this is what we have done," said Rodrigo Lasmar, Brazil's team doctor.

"Our athletes stay inside the hotel and only go out for training. Out of every 24 hours, they spend 22 inside the hotel."

The Argentina squad for the "Super Clasico" match at Beijing's Birds Nest stadium includes Barcelona's Lionel Messi, Manchester United's record signing Angel Di Maria and defender Marcos Rojo, and Manchester City's Martin Demichelis, Pablo Zabaleta and Sergio Aguero.

Chelsea players Willian, Oscar and Filipe Luis, and Liverpool's Philippe Coutinho are in the Brazil squad.

Beijing has an ongoing problem with smog but farmers burning plant stalks after the autumn harvest has made it worse and the noxious cloud is expected to remain until Saturday.

Four men have been arrested in London as part of an investigation into Islamist-related terrorism, Scotland Yard has said.

Whitehall officials told the BBC the arrests "may have foiled the early stages" of a plan to attack the UK.
The four men, aged 20 and 21, were arrested on suspicion of being involved in the commission, preparation or instigation of terrorism.

Met Commissioner Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe said it was a "quite serious case".
BBC security correspondent Frank Gardner said Whitehall officials were unable to comment on the nature of the potential plot they say may have been foiled.

Officials said the investigation was in its early stages and interviews and searches were ongoing, our correspondent added.
'Drumbeat around terrorism'

Those arrested were taken to police stations in central London and remain in custody. Officials said one individual had spent time in Syria.

A number of residential addresses and vehicles are continuing to be searched by specialist officers in west and central London as part of the investigation.
Firearms officers assisted in one of the arrests but no shots were fired.

A 21-year-old who was Tasered by officers was not injured and did not require medical treatment, police said.

Speaking to BBC London, Mr Hogan-Howe said police were having to be more proactive around terrorism, which he said was being linked to conflicts in Iraq and Syria.

"It is difficult to talk in a great deal of detail about it, but it is a quite serious case and it's one of a series of arrests that we've had over the last few weeks, which taken together for me confirm that the drumbeat around terrorism has changed.

"It's a more intense drumbeat. We're having to be more interventionist and a lot of it is linked back to Syria and Iraq," he said.
