Foreign Affairs › Re: US Rejects UN Resolution Condemning Russia’s War: How Your Country Voted by Codes151(m): 6:33am On Feb 27, 2025
femisplash:
Putin's invasion in Ukraine required the 193 member body to reafirm Kyiv's territorial integrity and called for Russia to withdraw it's forces in tune with the UN's charter. The resolution was passed but had less support, many members abstained to avoid a tricky tension created by Trump.
Washington's diplomats had urged other countries to vote against the measures, and instead support US potential resolution. However, US took a neutral stance on the war. It would have seemed unthinkable seeing US and Russia on the same side of a coin given past antecedents.
While many countries abstained, Nigeria took a stand and voted in favour of Russia's forces moving their ass out of Ukraine 's territory. It however, affirms the strength and will power of Nigeria being a power house, never cowering, never intimidated.
I recalled a former foreign minister advising Tinubu to not get into any friction with Trump. Damn the consequences!, Nigeria is the giant of Africa. And behind the wheel is a man who does not grovel at the feet of no one.
Following the suspension of USAID, the President immediately ordered the release of $1billion for the continuity of medical programs and an additional $3.2million to procure HIV treatment packs. That was a big punch right back at Trump's face. Additionally, he instructed the ministers of foreign affairs to make sure Nigeria deportees were respectfully brought back, with directives that they must be flown down to Lagos specifically. The US Ambassador got the memo and did exactly that.
Mr President never go sulking to Trump as did the Presidents of Brazil, Mexico and Colombia when their citizens were deported in handcuffs.
The world is witnessing two raving megalomaniacs rolling over each other in a couple's bed while Gaza and Ukraine are being forced to remove the beddings and do the laundry.
We will see if Europe and BRICS could see through their skulls when these two blocks meet to make their decisions.
why did the war start?
You just writing stories.

Nigeria think it’s always about voting rubbish.

Let's keep deceiving ourselves.

Belgium plans to generate 70% of it's electricity by 2030 from renewable energy such as dam, solar, wind etc due to global warming.

Europe is even phasing out fuel powered cars very soon. Today out of every 3 cars sold in Norway 2 are electric.

From 2025, Almost all brand new Toyota Sedan cars will be Hybrid.
leep thinking like a goat and as a typical Igbo.

In Uk, USA. Most power is generated by LGA. What is your state n LGA doing?? You waiting for FG.

Common transmission in your village Is bad what are they doing??

FG signed a bill for state n local control.

National grid is there to offset and support while distributing. FG is pushing lets states wake up.

Is Anambra not generating now? Is Akwa Ibom not generating? Una think only FG will take care of 200m million yet state n LGA Dey collect money.

I said it before when these fools attacked GEJ out of office.
Nigerians are not smart.

Tinubu reforms are good, although he messed up by not joining hands with Buhari. But waited till it was this bad. Same thing Obi is doing.

What’s wrong with all hands on deck?
That’s why I appreciate WIke.

Don’t lets any greedy northerner deceive you! Tinubu administration & SP & Wike is one of the best post GEJ. Reforms. Laws, bills signed.

Let’s encourage them.
Let’s get more good bills signed.

Safyqueen:
It is becoming clear that Akpabio has something else between him and this Natasha.

Natasha doesn't normally dress abnormal at anywhere whether outside nor at the plenary. Even her hair is always covered. Natasha is a lawyer and had been attending sessions in that particular Senate sittings.

She doesn't need to wait for inauguration before reading the rules of the house.

Akpabio is surprised that while some senators, two terms for that matter cannot move a motion but a three days old one is moving a motion because he, himself is a lazy type.

Going thru standing rules and preparing motions, which one is harder? If Akpabio is experienced, the law that gives you the right of allocating seats anyhow also mandate you to notify the senators affected at any point in time before plenary.

Natasha is more experienced on standing rules than that bafoon that believe a beautiful woman cannot be a senator. Nonsense.
