The iPhone 6 is also the first to introduce the apple pay system which allows you pay for items by just putting your finger on the home button which is a fingerprint reader. No need to bring out your debit or credit cards iPhone 6 is also the first to introduce reachability which enables users of the phone to operate with one hand despite the increase in size. It enables them bring the apps closer to their finger by double tapping the home button. |
sushieater: Its not even $600-800, but Atleast $1000 off contract and all you get is an increase in screen size? This is really sad.I think the iPhone 6 is a good phone and ahead of its peers. iPhone 6 has a health feature that can tell you how many calories you burn in a day,if you climb stairs it will note that as am exercise and advise you on how to move, stand, exercise for most of the day to enable you achieve optimism fitness. It has a fingerprint reader. It has Siri that can read your emails, tell you your location and so many other things. It s going to be linked with the upcoming I watch which can also track how many minutes you ve spent in a day standing.it monitors your movement. Taps you when you have a phone call Allows you to tap other apple watch users. Or draw signs such as heart shapes and send to them It has a gold edition and has different styles and different faces You can make a slow motion video |

@moneysage:read my quote again.it started with;I AM NOT ON INTERNET BANKING. I am not talking about Internet banking.haba! |
@walcom:I m not on Internet banking and don't want it as it seems not secure to me(my opinion) for large sums.the amount is slightly over ten million. the only other option is Neft transfer,I don't mind the charges as I m ready to pay but I m disappointed that after paying such huge charges,I will have to wait for a day or two before it gets to my other account in another bank. So such a system is not sustainable for business.so anytime I do Tbills or any other transaction with GTbank.i will now have to pay huge charges to transfer money out.....it's quite discouraging. Thanks for previous contributions And why I am leaving is cos doing further transactions with them makes me feel trapped cos each time I will like to move huge sums I will have to pay huge charges so I will go to a bank where I can easily move my funds instantly and cheap too. |
@oga elai:please be honest.from recent transactions, how long does first bank take to credit interest from Tbills exactly.and is their rate for primary bid same as others? Then the secondary from them, does it take time too for the interest to be credited? Waiting for my maturity to do the neft transfer from Gtbank to a new bank,my reasons; Gtbank does not do instant transfers and prefer to do neft transfer which is more costly :like I am paying 26,090 to transfer money from Gtbank through this neft and I m hearing its not going to get to the other bank that day. If it were other bankS,the transfer should have cost me only 1000,they would have done an instant transfer.i ve checked. So pls friends,if u ve done neft.how long does it take to get to the receiving account and is it safe? Then lastly,if anyone know a better way to transfer a large sum out of GTBank.let them lemme know. Thanks to everyone. |

@seun: I have an investment with GTBANK and its almost matured but they ve instructed me to pay certain amount of money to transfer te money to my other bank. Their reason being that my account is a savings account with high volume funds and that they will do a neft transfer as it is more secure an suitable for high volumes than instant transfer service. My opinion is the branch sees am moving my fund elsewhere and want to milk me a bit plus they could be trying to discourage me from moving the funds. So after my research for a new bank that can help me juggle between Tbills and FD and BA and also have readily available secondary market Tbills.i settled for either first bank or Ecobank, but I think Ecobank is better after having a talk with them.first bank however, does not pay interest on time, making the transaction awkward and losing its upfront leverage value. I also considered a bank that won't want to charge me as high as 28k to move my funds.Seun that's why I am not ok with GtBank. My other bank wnt have treated me thus.my relationship with the branch s no longer as it should cos of that transfer charge. @elai and feel among;I am open to your suggestions and opinion. And Ecobank is offering me Bankers acceptance with upfront interest of 11percent for 90 days. They also offered for 44 days and 70 and so on. Dnt know if the shorter days are preferable to the longer tenor or is it just same value of interest.like is it better to buy 44 and rollover 44 or to buy 90 or 180 and rollover thus. then they also have readily available secondary Tbills and also have another product which I am yet to explore which offers higher rates, called fin. Then they are among the top eight as recently stated by CBN This is why I am shunning my present bank Stanbic which failed to make the cut. The article is on nairaland here and was judged in terms of size, assets, profit, customer base. So if my bank didn't Make the cut, they are probably lacking in one or more of these areas.profit would be the worst area to lack in. So looking at the whole thing from a sustainable and steady business view,I think it's better to go for a bank that Is ok in all those areas and even if they fail,Cbn has promised to guarantee them. What do u all think members? Thanks to everyone in advance. Special thanks to Elai and feel among. Elai has been very suggestive whenever I needed his views.thanks oga. |
@elai thanks.i get your points. And u just reminded me am not even dealing with the bank but with cbn |
I forgot to mention.the zenith branch I went to wanted me to fix the funds instead of investing in Tbills as that will be more beneficial to them..smh...so zenith out of question. |
@elai:hi,please I need ur opinion.this morning after reading Cbn s too big to fail banks and not finding my bank on the list,I felt sad and started searching for a new nest for my funds but I need it to be somewhere I can have easy access to both primary and secondary market t bills. Thus far,I had first bank and zenith in mind but first bank only does 91 days or so I ws told on the phone by a first bank official from my local branch. If they have secondary market availability,I m yet to know. So mr elai, any other person that has been dealing with first bank should please fill me in. Then if there is any bank among the big eight that can handle both primary and secondary market bids, someone should let me know. Have read that first bank doesn't credit the interest on same day of transaction but they ve denied it so far.So I need people who ve had the experience to fill me in or do I stick to my bank and disregard the too big to fail statement from Cbn |
pes 14. Cost? |
@lawmann;easy Bro,we dnt want to leap before we look.do we?guess not. @foandt:really,Oga,really. Are u pitying the banks? Do u know how much interest the bank earns on sitting idle funds in people's current accounts? Have u forgotten when they collected ATM charges,SMS charges, and all other charges? Well they have an interest but if they didnt,I wnt be bothered bout them.they have a million ways of earning money. their interest is they earn a big commission do selling on behalf of cbn, then thy also earn a 0.0025 percent of ur transaction, which is very little that u wnt even notice it,while u are happy, packing ur interest money in ur bag. ![]() |
@ Timothy,@ Chiqudy and kufreabasio: the clear difference between treasury bills and FD is the interest is paid to u immediately(upfront) and without withdrawing withholding tax while FIxed deposits require you to wait till when it matures before u can get ur interest. Also your interest is subject to withholding tax. now imagine this scenario:ten million naira tb done January 2014 will get u upfront interest of 1million naira plus. That means u have money to start ur year with while others are yet to know what the year has to offer.in your profit books u ve made a million for the year without having worked. Trying same thing with a fixed deposit will see u getting ur money by December 2014. Also when I started Tbills the interest rates were as high as 14 percent for 91 days.and still has thr potential,so far as sanusi is on his fight against inflation. @kufreabasio:u said someone keeps 520000 somewhere and gets 13k. Well u got ur 13 k immediately and ready to use, whereas if it was FD it will be after the 90days and they deduct tax from it. If u want to milk more from money markets increase the volume u invest. @timothy:ur choice of investment between treasury and FD should be weighed on ur cash flow needs(how often u need funds) and How much u are willing to invest. Both are safe,Tbills after CBN s guarantee is also guaranteed by the bank u are buying from, especially if u buy from the secondary market. Yes there is an offer letter just like FD with the banks letter head on it.Abi Bank go do u wayo? Hope u all can now make ur decisions more informedly now. @oga Feelamong:the new levels now na commercial papers.will appreciate any info u can get on it. Thank you sir. there are so many money market instruments for people with money to earn more by making their money work for them but..........ignorance........ |
@feelamong:read on businessday, that this recent sale was higher than the previous.though they didnt state the rates. Well I wanted to know what's your take on BA(bankers acceptances) versus t bills And I m worried that sanusi leaving office soon could trigger change in policies and stop the FG s dependence on tBills Sanusi was quoted as saying that if interest rates will get to fourty percent to stop inflation, that he won't mind. Seems the inflation is favoring us and the country s declining income is. "Feeling awkward, belonging to the rich get richer club". |
@oga Feelamong and elai, other reputable members of this useful forum.pls I would like to know how some of you have managed to rollover your interest. My question is the rollover done immediately the interest is paid,or u hold the funds till next auction. I would like to know so I can compound my interest. |
onah peter: June last year, i adviced this forum to invest in the stock market because of large margin of gain. I stressed the fact that people should get greed when the market is fearful and fearful when it's greed.Forexample GTBANK was selling 14 naira then , but now it's selling for N25 about 78% increase. Then Nestle was selling for N390 but after one year it now selling for about N980, which over 150% increase....Stocks are volatile and can appreciate or depreciate.no guarantee of your capital being protected.if it plunges u lose even part of ur capital Tbills get my interest upfront and tax free.and collateral for loan. Highly liquid. Thank you sir but shares ruined many. No to shares.!!! |
Mpeace :Yeah.i am sure.like I said there's been recent change in policies like the cbn increasing the banks CRR(cash reserve ratio) on public funds.this can affect rates but dependent on other factors. Remember 08 and 07 ,rates were as high as 16/17. It's nothing new. Though u have a point but doubt thats the case now considering this recent change in policy. |
Really enjoying passive income from t bills and FD,really helps one grow with compound interest. @oga elai and feel among:my banks FD rate is now 13percent possibly due to the CRR implementation,so I m hoping and asking, can T bills possibly hit 20percent. Cos liquidity seems to be the governments problem at the moment?need Your opinions sirs. Hope to retire soon from active work.just trading my cash. ![]() |
