Having said this before .I am sure last yr after d shl stage. 600 is the best & likely rite figure because nt all days has a total of 20 participants as the basic assumption of some dudes portrays. Taking cognizance of the breaks in between the number of days in the weeks remaining, it should not be above that figure. wink

Someone made a good/true/realistic point earlier though its not something to be happy about considering the number of candidates remaining and how long the process has taken.I quote " the end will be sweet to some but bitter to many", based on this premise the final intake is likely to be atmost 100 subject to miracles grin grin grin. This view may be challenged by an alternative opinion if at all their is wink

Beyond this let's pray d train 7 project, one of d key drivers of dis recruitment from my perspective, go beyond positive media publicity and acknowledgements .It should be a project flagged off by the FG to start instanta. I am optimistic from the positive body language of this present administration, it will come to fruition!!! thus making d prospect brighter ...

We hope our crude oil market share and prices improve as recently d FG was forced to bring dwn price per barrel of Bonny light& Qua iboe jst to retain some markets it's losing. Just in thoughts, hope this don't affect gas supply given that abt 55% of LNG gas input is from associated gas sourced from oil wells.ie the larger the market share and the profits, the more crude production and gas available.

As the waiting game and AC continues ...wish everyone in this race success and grace to be part of the Sweet Some if possible...

Happy Sunday pals.

Buhari dissolves NNPC board, I hope this doesn't affect/delay this recruitment seeing that NNPC is the largest stakeholder in NLNG.

This is the issue...and it will be resolved as LNG don't play pranks. It's not a threat because NLNG has credible documents of every remittance to the FG through the NNPC. Its more of an issue between the NNPC and FG.

Nlng2014:
For those asking for hints/actual questions be rest assured that the questions asked per group in the interview phase won't be the same, it is usually selected from a pool of questions not known even to the assessors at the time of assessment.

So assuming you are to be interviewed today. And there are 3 groups. Each group would be asked similar but different questions from a pool so large it would drown your knowledge.

The dangers in listening to any one in this forum who tells you what they experienced is that he/she might be setting you up for failure intentionally. If I was to tell you that the questions were so and so and you go home preparing with the hope that it would be true. You would be shocked when the first question is thrown at you because I had intended to distract you from the goal.

Nlng does not need to stalk NAIRALAND to find out who is giving out info. Because even if you divulge that info it would be irrelevant in the affairs of the imminent exercise.

Well said bro. Hint or no hint wont improve any chances. What NLNG has sent through the emails is enough hint. They have a choice to have invited you without a break down of what to expect. But they decided to be caring and gave you a hint. I wonder what hint again people need. Even though some people may be hyper proactive to findout from their friends that have done. I am sure you will confirm that NLNG upholds Integrity by keeping to the scope of the mail they have sent to the most part. Seeking for hint to entertain your curiosity may sound good but for the purpose of gaining advantage to out perform other prospective colleagues, Hmmmm... Am sorry , its not likely it will help an inch. Infact it is not necessary rather it may be to your detriment as illustrated above. All these where considered in the preparation and organization of the AC to ensure fairness and avoid biaseness.

A graphic example is the SHL stage. Everyone was given a hint that it was SHL format and people even wrote on different days. Additionally people sought for more details from friends that wrote before them. But guess what ,at the end of the day was it still SHL? Yes and was it everyone that crossed over? NO. So its all about innate ability/ potential and Gods grace.

My view is that all these e-disagreements, e-accusation and counter-accusation of who has integrity or not, giving or not giving hint isn't necessary. It should be rested. Everyone should feel free and respect other peoples opinion. Performance at the AC and processes like this is by innate ability/potential (not copied ability) and by Gods grace. Though practice may help but it wont change much. And that is what the process has been simulated for, to pick out the best from various people with varying potentials, capabilities in line with their expectations. No one can be anyone else no matter how you practice an info. someone may have divulged to you, because surely you will display your innate self that day. And the assessors will see the full display and pick whom by their judgement is best. Perhaps AC as everyone knows is not a primary school OBJ where u choose yes/no, a or b. No really right answers. Every option can be correct depending on how you prove your case, display your potentials, personality and support your point with intelligible argument/opinion. So why seek for hints from other people. Not necessary.

The right thing to do now is practice what you need to know for the AC and sustain intelligible discussions, pray for Gods mercy and favour, relax, BE YOURSELF and BE your BEST that day! Finito.

For everyone that have done, what ever your performance may look like from your own judgement. Just relax and believe God for the best. I heartily wish you all success and congratulations in advance. Await your testimony for the next level.. wink

Hello Soon-to-be NLNGers,

Firstly, congratulations to everyone who has made it thus far. No be beans. Almost at the finish line.

Secondly, I will like to know what the house thinks with regards to choosing between a position as Petroleum Engineer (graduate entry level) with ExxonMobil and Graduate Trainee position with NLNG.

Please your reasoned opinions are highly welcomed and appreciated.

Lastly, I wish everyone attending the AC the very best. Good news at the end, starting from tomorrow.

Thanks

Though your question isn't so specific as per what is a priority for you. My view is that your choice depends on what you think is a priority for you.

To be realistic LNG has a Flat structure thus career progression may not be as fast as compared to other IOCs. This is because of its span of coverage (i.e Nigeria) and the company's shareholding/Ownership structure. Though Nigerianization and restructurings has helped a bit to open-up some top managerial positions for direct LNG staff, career progression across board may not be still comparable with other IOCs. Perhaps IOCs have operations all over the world making it easy for faster growth and transfers, thus creating multifaceted career paths for staffs. However opportunities for secondment to other LNG companies of other countries may be available in LNG.

As for pay, the two companies are in similar industry though LNG majors on gas. Pay package for both is competitive and within reasonable range of each other depending what your definition of reasonable range is grin. But must say, Its worth it men, you wont like to miss it grin

Concerning conduciveness of work environment and work challenge, as you know LNG is a continuous operation process plant runned with a state of the art technology. Thus there are many news things to learn, and challenges that keeps you on your toes monitoring the plant to optimize production and add value. However, I am of the view that other IOCs operating in varying environments and climates with new challenges in different oil and gas fields may be more challenging. So you can tell what is expected as compared to being in the LNG environment. LNG looks better from my view in terms of a conducive and caring work atmosphere. This can be challenged with an alternative opinion.

Conclusively, I will say clearly define your passion and let your choice be in tandem with your passion at the long run as that is what drives fulfillment and satisfaction. Moreso its about excellent delivery in your assigned job/duties. Career decision should be above money, comfort, challenge, relaxation etc, Its all about where can you make utmost and outstanding contribution. This factor should overrule all others highlighted above.

This is the little I should say, other peoples opinions are welcomed.

In the same vein, Wish everyone all the best and success as the #Cooperation of the Titans not really Clash of the Titans# begins wink

Nothing will hinder this recruitment exercise again.

It is settled!

You have Spoken Well

It's is going to be a Great Year for everyone with great possibilities in the positive direction.

Though Crude Oil dropped from $115 per barrel in June 2014 to less than $ 46 as at last week and the spot price of LNG crashed from $20 per million British Thermal Unit (mmbtu) in February 2014 to less than $10 per mmbtu as at December 2014. Sure Cost reduction comes into play due to the decrease in profitability of the business. But be rest assured friends that the recruitment process wont be affected or cancelled because of that. In every company and multinational there is room for strategic succession planning. No matter how things go there is always room for new entrants which are the future of the company. Infact that is one of the major drive for recruitment. Unless the company is winding-up which isn't foreseeable for a global giant like LNG. For example if the economy is bad , it doesn't stop parents from giving birth to Children, the only thing is caution as to the number of children. The key thing is that CHILDREN MUST BE GIVEN BIRTH TO.

Secondly ,LNG sales is in Dollars which is more stronger locally than the naira due to the recent devaluation of naira by the CBN. Thus making it cheaper for the Company to take care of local operating costs. There is room, I am optimistic about that , however Let me reserve other comments in this regard at this junction.

Conclusively the major threat to the recruitment exercise from my perspective is the outcome of the election. Irrespective of whether GMB or GEJ wins is highly immaterial to the process. The main thing we need be concerned about is that LET THERE BE PEACE AFTER THE ELECTION especially in the NIGER-DELTA region. So Pray if you can.

Keep the Hopes High Friends. Believe God for the best.

All is WELL.

coolio2014: NLNG but why?!

How many weeks will it take to have assessment coordinated?

Yea yea understand your grieviance....but just thinking it this way, in every global organization their is risk management procedures governing every major company based activities. It may be possible that the plan for the AC ( in-terms of location, Procedures, etc.) may have undergone another review and reorganization inorder to factor in the threat of Ebola that came in unforeseen. Definitely the process for approval for a new plan or strategy may take a while because in a recruitment process that will bring in new personnels into every departments in a company, you should expect that senior personnels or managers in such units/departments may be drafted into and made part of the process to enhance a transparent process. Also their approvals for the new plan is necessary because team work is key in company's processes and procedures. Even the logistics involved in securing and getting a choice location ready for the participants can also contribute to delays sometimes too.

Moreso there maybe other business concerns internally that maybe more pressing than the AC. So they have the sole right to Organise the AC at a time convienent for the business in terms of cost considering the number of personnel hours that will be involved in the process and their Managers business routines and schedules. Perhaps priority for various business concerns have ratings that change from one time of the year to another i.e from High, medium and low. AC generally in most companies is not just a HR thing. Other deptartments that will benefit from the process are also involved.

Personally the waiting may not be funny and its not but atleast from the past stages despite the seemingly delays, we still commended their good job and high level of organization. I am sure to some extent the story will not be so different for the forthcoming AC.

So please guys lets still keep up preparations and believe God for the Best. HIS WILL SHALL BE DONE FINALLY.
