Seun: African Night Crawlers are the most productive composting earthworms, and lucky for us, they are native to West Africa. They grow bigger, reproduce more quickly, and produce castings more prolifically than redworms. They also have the ability to live in the soil. The only reason why redworms are more popular in the US and Europe is because redworms can cope with very cold weather, but this doesn't matter to us at all. In my SW area, most of the earthworms you see are African Night Crawlers, so if you don't get a supplier, you can search for them by yourself. thanks for the info. i will search my backyard. |
